I get all of my political commentary from this thread and from "The Late Show Starring Stephen Colbert". I noticed that the other late shows (Fallon and Kimmel) are listed as "comedy" while Colbert is listed as "talk". The irony is he makes me laugh a lot more than Fallon and Kimmel do. When Colbert was on Comedy Central, I loved his political commentaries and interviews. I am so glad he was able to continue that on the major network. I know it is just for entertainment, but if I can laugh while watching clips and discussions, I absorb more of the information.

I'm soooo amused by all the Trump haters pissing their pants at the thought of him winning! I'm totally voting for him.
And I'm just amazed that these two sisters of an IDIOT who broke into someone's house. He was shot dead by the home owner...and those sisters insist that he SHOULDN'T have been killed. They said people should understand that he was just providing for himself!!! My God, are they RETARDED?! If you break into someone's house to ROB them, well...are we supposed to congratulate them??? Really?!

Post-Jihad Gesture Theater: Je Suis Sick of ItBy Michelle Malkin March 23, 2016 While homicidal, suicidal and genocidal jihadists are busy plotting the next soft-target terror attacks on the West, docile Westerners are busy shedding cartoon tears and doodling broken hearts on social media.
European artists rushed to fill Twitter and Instagram with images of Belgian comic book character Tintin weeping after vengeful Muslim terrorists left the Brussels airport and subway system buried in rubble and dead bodies. Residents of the besieged city -- which recklessly opened its doors to mass Muslim immigration and criminalized the vocal dissent of those who've objected over past decade -- meekly protested the Quran-inspired violence by leaving pastel-colored chalk messages pleading for "peace no war." Echoing the "Je Suis Charlie" and "Je Suis Paris" rallying cries that followed the January 2015 Charlie Hebdo jihad attack and the November 2015 jihad massacres in Paris and Saint-Denis, tens of thousands of people spread the "JeSuisBruxelles" message with their thoughts, prayers and memes. And, of course, there will be flags lowered and monuments lit up all over the world this week in the national colors of Belgium to show "solidarity" with Tuesday's victims of The Perpetrators Whose Religion Shall Not Be Named. To borrow a useful phrase coined by British journalist James Bartholomew last year, we have reached the oversaturation point of post-terrorism "virtue signaling:" Hashtags, avatars and animated GIFs ad nauseam. These are the easy advertisements and maudlin displays of one's resolute opposition to an unidentified something that must be stopped somehow by unspoken means. Virtue signals are "camouflage," Bartholomew explained. They are sincere-seeming shows of collective unity that disguise the millennial-age indulgence of publicly patting one's own back for supposed moral courage. "No one actually has to do anything," he opined. Virtue now "comes from mere words or even from silently held beliefs." Pre-Twitter, outraged Americans all donned "Never forget" magnets and ribbons on our cars and lapels after 9/11. I was one of them. But after 15 years of hapless homeland security theater and bipartisan pandering to terror-coddling "Islamophobia" shriekers, I'm so, so sick of noble gesture paraphernalia.I'm sick of preening celebrities who tell me to "PrayForTheWorld" and celebrate diversity while indiscriminate floods of Muslim refugees across Europe and America corrode the pillars of peace and freedom. I'm sick of Silicon Valley moguls who pretend to champion free speech while muzzling the speech of those who use the Internet to criticize the very open door immigration policies that fertilized European and American soil for jihadists. I'm sick of all the same old emasculated politicians who declare that "justice will be served," "this must end" and "we stand against terror," while refusing to take even the smallest baby steps to register and track Muslim refugees already here, stop new ones from coming in and tying up our overwhelmed immigration bureaucracy, and drain the jihad swamps inside our own borders. We've had enough piles of memorial flowers. We've heard enough hollow lip service paid to resolve. Where is the world's active resistance to the sharia-imposing soldiers of Allah? We need Tintin to wipe his nose, man up and remember Belgium's once proud history. When German invaders attempted what they thought would be an easy romp through the tiny neutral country in 1914 on their way to Paris, resistance fighters who were outnumbered 14 to 1 took a brave stand in defense of their sovereignty. Bracing for an onslaught, King Albert addressed his people: "One single vision fills all minds: that of our independence endangered. One single duty imposes itself upon our wills: the duty of stubborn resistance. In these solemn circumstances two virtues are indispensable: a calm but unshaken courage, and the close union of all Belgians. ... It is the moment for action. ... country which is defending itself conquers the respect of all; such a country does not perish!"
How far the West has fallen. Farewell, steeled wills. You've been replaced by an army of sad-faced emojis.

Bo Derek did look good with her hair styled that way. More power to her. I see no difference in that and Beyonce and others wearing white hair styles. I say wear your hair the way you feel and ignore the critics. I certainly never let any one criticize me when I change my hairstyle. Freedom!

I'm really pissed off at all the black singers who dye their hair blond.
I'm really peeved at all the kids who dress like they're older than they are.
I just can't believe all the people wearing Birkenstock shoes when they were invented overseas.
I hate it when people use the phone when they didn't invent it.
I really get angry when everyone uses St. Patrick's day as a day to get drunk, when it's a saint's day.
I just can't stand it that the "Indians" crossed the land bridge from Asia thousands of years ago and began living in North America.

I think the re-writes are a clever means to get the NRA's point across. I do not really think the stories are meant for children though. NRA Rewrites Fairy Tales With More Firearms, Less Bloodshed 3-25-16Adding guns to the world of the Brothers Grimm drastically reduces death rates, according to a study — well, OK, according to a couple of stories published by the NRA. So far, there are only two data points. And they're imaginary. But the trendline is clear: In the NRA's reimagined fairy tales, putting rifles in the hands of children creates a safer world. The NRA Family site published its first reimagined fairy tale — "Little Red Riding Hood (Has A Gun)" in January, and followed up with "Hansel and Gretel (Have Guns)" last week. In the NRA's rewrite, Red walks through the woods with a rifle in her hands, warding off the wolf along the path. And at her grandmother's house, the situation was defused without a single bullet being fired: "The wolf leaned in, jaws open wide, then stopped suddenly. Those big ears heard the unmistakable sound of a shotgun's safety being clicked off. Those big eyes looked down and saw that grandma had a scattergun aimed right at him. He realized that Grandmother hadn't been backing away from him; she had been moving towards her shotgun to protect herself and her home. " 'I don't think I'll be eaten today,' said Grandma, 'and you won't be eating anyone again.' Grandma kept her gun trained on the wolf, who was too scared to move. Before long, he heard a familiar voice call 'Grandmother, I'm here!' Red peeked her head in the door. The wolf couldn't believe his luck—he had come across two capable ladies in the same day, and they were related! Oh, how he hated when families learned how to protect themselves." The wolf is carried away by the hunter, to an undefined but unpleasant end. Edinburgh Student Violates Safe Space by Raising Her Hand According to safe space rules, only gestures that indicate agreement are “permissible.” 4.4.2016 News Mark Tapson
The modern dilemma for millennial snowflakes: when university safe spaces are no longer safe from threatening behavior such as raising one's hand, where can one go to feel truly safe?
According to the UK Telegraph, a student spoke out against safe space rules becoming “a tool for the hard left to use when they disagree with people,” following an incident last week in which she was threatened with being thrown out of a meeting after being accused of violating those rules - by raising her hand.
Imogen Wilson, 22, vice-president for academic affairs at Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA), was subject to a “safe space complaint” over her “inappropriate hand gesture” during a student council meeting.
According to the association’s rules, student council meetings should be held in a “safe space environment” where "discriminatory language and actions" are prohibited. Such "actions" include “refraining from hand gestures which denote disagreement” or “in any other way indicating disagreement with a point or points being made.”
According to the safe space rules, only gestures that indicate agreement are “permissible” -- you read that right -- and even then only as long as “these gestures are generally understood and not used in an intimidating manner.” “Disagreements should only be evident through the normal course of debate,” the rules state.
Wilson raised her hand in disagreement after being accused by another speaker of failing to respond to an open letter, which Wilson claims she did. A complaint was made against her for this inappropriate action, and a vote was held on whether she should be removed from the room. By a count of 33 to 18, Wilson was allowed to stay (gee thanks, totalitarians), but she was threatened with a complaint again later after shaking her head while someone was speaking.
Wilson later said she believed that such rules were “a little extreme” (you think?) and had been used as a “political” tool against her after she spoke out against anti-Semitism.
“I totally do believe in safe space and the principles behind it,” she said:
“It’s supposed to enhance free speech and not shut it down, and give everyone a chance to feel like they can contribute. Safe space is essential for us to have a debate where everyone can speak, but it can’t become a tool for the hard left to use when they disagree with people.”
"At that meeting we were discussing BDS, the movement to boycott Israel. I made a long and passionate speech against us subscribing to this, on the basis it encourages anti-Semitism on campus. It was only after I made that speech that someone made a safe space complaint. I can’t help but think it was a political move against me.
“Later on in the meeting, someone threatened me with a second complaint because I was shaking my head – but when I was addressing the room about my worries about Jewish students, there were plenty of people shaking their heads and nothing happened.”
Another Edinburgh university student complained it was “pathetic” that hand gestures were “censored” and has started a petition calling on the student union to “reinstate and defend free speech.” The petition, which has garnered more than 1,000 signatures, says: “We are adults, we do not need condescension or safeguarding.”
Welcome to the modern university, where free speech is allowed only when you indicate agreement.

Obama Policy Punishes 'Racist' Teachers Who Discipline Criminal Students Two-thirds of teachers say they fear for their safety, and 43% complain their schools are no longer committed to protecting them. 4.11.2016 News Tiffany Gabbay
t's been clear for quite some time that the current administration is more interested in dividing the nation and emboldening the subversive elements within it than it is in setting a responsible example by supporting the people and institutions most in need.
A grim example is how Obama education officials are now pressuring teachers to capitulate to the Black Lives Matter movement. Teachers are expected to silently suffer physical abuse and turn a blind eye to criminal activity from violent students or else face grave repercussions. Yes, in today's day and age, teachers are being dismissed from their posts and accused of "racism" if they even so much as a complain about student-criminals. The New York Post provides details in this new, disturbing report:
Under pressure from Obama educrats, public school districts are no longer suspending even violent students; but now, under pressure from Black Lives Matter, they are suspending teachers who complain about not suspending bad kids.
In St. Paul, Minn., a high school teacher was put on administrative leave last month after Black Lives Matter threatened to shut down the school because the teacher complained about lenient discipline policies that have led to a string of assaults on fellow teachers.
Last month, two students at Como Park Senior High School punched and body slammed a business teacher unconscious, opening a head wound that required staples. And earlier in the year, another student choked a science teacher into a partial coma that left him hospitalized for several days.
In both cases, the teachers were white and the students black.
According to the Post, the Education Department has even threatened school districts with lawsuits and funding cuts if it finds racial "disparities" in the number of black students suspended or expelled for bad behavior. According to the administration, it is "racist" to discipline black students and teachers who do so are creating a “school-to-prison pipeline."
Yes, according to the administration, when students deal drugs in the hallway or assault teachers with weapons, it's the teachers' fault. Understandably, St. Paul high school teacher, Theo Olson, complained on Facebook about new district policies and paid the price:
“Anyone care to explain to me the school-to-prison pipeline my colleagues and I have somehow created, or perpetuated, or not done enough to interrupt?” Olson wrote. “Because if you can’t prove it, the campaigns you’ve waged to deconstruct adult authority in my building by enabling student misconduct, you seriously owe us real teachers an apology.”
Complained Olson: “Since we now have no backup, no functional location to send kids who won’t quit gaming, setting up fights, selling drugs, whoring trains, or cyber bullying, we’re screwed, just designing our own classroom rules.”
For these mild opinions, Black Lives Matter called Olson “a white supremacist” even though he had once marched with the group. Two days after Black Lives Matter met with the St. Paul school superintendent — and agreed to call off its protest — the 10-year veteran teacher was put on leave.
In February, a Colorado teacher sued Thompson School District for firing her when she called the police to report death threats from a 13-year-old student. Carrie Giesler claims superiors warned her against documenting attacks by the boy, who allegedly punched her in the ribs and broke her thumb. “I’m going to kill you, bitch,” she said he told her one day. The district discouraged punishments, she says, after adopting “restorative practices” whose goals, according to its website, are to “reduce suspensions and expulsions (and) reduce (the) number of discipline referrals.”
Last month, a 16-year-old high school student in Syracuse slugged not one but two teachers in the mouth after they asked him to put away his phone, something Obama educrats say is a big no-no. The Education Department states that even if the only reason a school happens to punish more black students for unauthorized “use of electronic devices” is because blacks actually “are engaging in the use of electronic devices at a higher rate than students of other races,” it can still be liable for discrimination under so-called “disparate impact” theory.
A recent survey of 830 Syracuse teachers by the New York State United Teachers union found that more than a third say they’ve been assaulted at least once in the classroom, with more than 70% of victims saying they’ve suffered cuts and bruises or broken bones. Overall, two-thirds of teachers say they fear for their safety, and 43% complain their schools are no longer committed to protecting them. As a result, nearly half say they’re “seriously considering” quitting.
The truth is, this president has done more than any other to divide this nation, emboldening criminals and special interests, punishing those sworn to educate, protect and serve, and pitting fellow Americans against one another.
Oddly, teachers unions have organized strikes for far less important reasons before, why not now when it is truly necessary?
Thugs run our schools and we wonder why the Japanese perform better in mathematics and science

This should go on the Vent Thread. A certain member of our WB group (she didn't really stick around when it became The CW) has a Facebook page that has turned into a Bernie for President page.
It's not that I don't support Bernie, though I don't (or Hillary). Sure, we'd like free stuff, but there is no free stuff. Someone pays. And he seems to hate capitalism. I know that's what makes this country work, but I believe in some regulation to keep big companies in check.
No, the problem is that in order to see her family photos or what's going on in her life, I have to scroll through so many Bernie posts. Eventually the computer freezes and I can't go any further. In order to see older posts I haven't seen yet, I have to start over and do it all again. Facebook won't provide me with any kind of solution. I told her but got no response. I think she's so busy she doesn't have time for me.

He would have to.

LAPD Investigate Belief in Two Genders as a Hate Crime at Catholic College “Denying transgenderism" 4.28.2016 News Sarah Fisher olice along with the university's "Bias Incident Response Team" are investigating a "hate crime" at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. The hate crime? Believing there are only two genders. Both the police and the university’s Bias Incident Response Team are investigating the stated belief that only two genders exist, male and female, as a hate crime. A Loyola alumni office employee discussed her views on sexual orientation, which align with the Roman Catholic Church, with three students who were hanging up posters on the subject on April 14. One of the students involved in the incident explained to The College Fix that that "hate crime" is “denying transgenderism.” Cosette Corleo, who identifies as "gender neutral" was told by a university employee that only two genders exist and Corleo believes that statement is a "hate crime." Carleo explained “you can have your opinion” as long as it doesn’t “deny my existence.” Accounts of the incident in question differ. Carleo says the incident began when she (or he?) noticed "Rainbow Week" posters were removed from and placed behind a garbage can. The accused employee “allegedly approached the students about LGBTQ+ issues and voiced her opinions on differing sexualities, expressing that anti-LGBTQ+ signs should be put up in place of the students’ sign.” Carleo says the employee “told me that I was wrong and unnatural.” But the husband of the employee tells a different story and says it can be corroborated by a witness. After discussing the signs, “everyone shook hands and my wife invited them into the Alumni office anytime they wanted to talk more,” the husband wrote. “The girls express out loud how much they enjoyed the opportunity to ‘dialogue’ on these subjects with my wife.” The husband also said his wife was suspended before anyone talked to her about the incident. LMU's LGBT's Student Services told The College Fix the investigation is ongoing.
