I enjoyed the episode but I was sleepy when I watched it. I give the writers kudos for coming up with something original that I would never have guessed. I enjoyed Crowley's "bromance" monologue and Dean's "no-way-in-hell" expression while listening to it. I am not convinced that Crowley would have killed Dean, but I knew Amara would not let him anyway. Amara seems rather charming considering she has been branded "The Darkness". There have been many vengeful people and entities on the show, but Amara is the most powerful of them all so we need to be worried for God's creation. As far as I can recall, she has not killed anyone, but she has caused their deaths indirectly. She tried to rationalize why she is attached to Dean...simple answer is everyone is attracted to Dean. I am usually reluctant to use the "S" word, but I do not know any other way to say this. Sam's attempt to have a bare-knuckle brawl against 3 demons looked pretty stupid to me. Really...why is he not dead? For just a millisecond, I thought maybe Sam had some super power I did not know about, but I do not think so. The vision has me more convinced than ever that Lucifer is communicating with Sam. Of course, it could be Michael, but Lucifer is the one who has the bond with Sam. I did not realize Castiel was suffering from PTSD, but that does make sense to me. I hope beating the crap out of Metatron helped relieve the stress and he did get some enlightening information.

I liked the episode, too, Anti. Great continuity from the week before. Poor Len. Too bad he had to die, but then, without a soul, he may have started talking or killing again. Found it odd that Amara returned to Crowley's lair. She obviously doesn't like him so why would she go back? What is the story with Sam's visions? Now he's seeing the Cage? Does that hint at who was in his last vision? Not God, but Lucifer? Or Michael? What is the hold the Darkness has on Dean? Part of him wants to kill her and part of him is strangely affected by her. If she is "God's sister," I don't think the demon blade will kill her anyway. God's sister? Not sure how I feel about that. So far, except for one episode, it's been a good season.

Is there any word on who came up with the God's sister concept?
I was surprised that she returned to the lair, but maybe she believed there was more to learn from Crowley. Until this episode, I thought Crowley had taken her to Hell like he did Rowena. Also, maybe she is like a discontented daughter who sneaks out or runs away but then returns home.

I liked the episode also, and I agree, this season has been much better with continuity, editing and pacing. Seems as if someone is doing a better job in the writers room and making them pay attention to what has happened before.
I can't figure out what is going on with Dean, is he afraid, is he scared, is he a mixture of too many emotions to decide one? He seems kind of amped up like the MOC still has a grip on him sometimes. He is hiding more than Sam, and I hope we find out soon what it is.
Sam, I like that he is trying to save people this year, although like Anti said, it wasn't very smart going up against 3 demons by yourself. I was shocked when we saw The Cage- Where are we going this season??? I love that after all Sam has been thru, he still has faith and is not afraid or embarrassed to try and reach out to God.
I didn't realize Cas was hiding in the bunker because of his PTSD, until we saw it this week. It does make sense after all he has been thru, that he would avoid certain situations so he doesn't see that part of himself again. I loved that he didn't let Metatron manipulate him again, Please let Cas and Sam and Dean learn and mature more this season, I think we are on the right track but we need more. Sam and Dean are not kids anymore, and with all they have learned, it only seems right to see a more mature side of them.
What is going on with Crowley? First he is bad, then kind of good/bad, now it seems like he is bad again, but his "parenting skills" are off. Do you think he was really going to kill Dean or was it just a ploy to see if Amara would save Dean. The look in his eyes after she told him to leave was not a good look and I think Crowley will team with whomever he can to take down Amara.

I'm just a little sad that we've lost the majority of people who used to comment on SPN. There used to be a large group, but it's dwindled to almost no one.

SoCal I understand and I was concerned when you and November did not post right away. I am glad you are hanging in here. I do not interact with Supernatural fans on other sites because my experience on the CW site was very disappointing. Once in awhile, I see a glimpse of the arguments continuing on Twitter and I ignore it. It is not so easy to do on a forum. Crowley is definitely curious about Dean's relationship with Amara, and I agree he is resentful and will retaliate. If Sam opens his mind to let Lucifer in, he might get information with releasing anyone from the cage. Although I think it would be really dangerous to open the cage, it would shake things up.

This is the only SPN forum I participate in because, like you say, Anti, it is for the most part, pretty respectful of all members attitudes. While we certainly have our moments, I would rather not participate somewhere there is constant bitching, moaning and generalized jack-assness being displayed. I just wish that some of our old SPN friends from days past would come here to comment. I miss them.

I do too and the different views and interpretations lead to lively discussions. I guess people have short attention spans and move on to the latest and greatest.

I just wanted to second and third that, I also miss people who used to post here, so many people like Twitter and Tumblr, and I don't care for those, and I like this site the best, no one acts like an individual is stupid for feeling a certain way about a character or storyline.
Sorry it takes me so long to post sometimes, I am working 45-50 hours a week, and by the time I get home, some nights I don't even turn on the computer.

I remember those 45-50 hour work weeks and know it is tough to feel like socializing or forming insightful posts. I welcome your comments whenever you are rested enough to chat. I took a long break during the summer so I am doing okay now.
