I really enjoyed seeing the ever versatile Carol pick nuts, kill walkers, bake cookies, and flirt with Tobin. I thought she was just having fun when she flirted and told him to eat the cookie, but later, there was no doubt. Carol put a cookie on Sam’s grave. She probably keeps thinking about the way her story scared him.
Darryl dragged his feet and (maybe) missed his chance with Carol. She did everything but jump his bones. WTH Daryl! I have not checked to see what the Daryl-Carol shippers are saying but I bet they were surprised.
Rick’s speech was persuasive and he demonstrated his leadership qualities. He was concise, pragmatic, decisive and honest. He respectfully listened to the lone dissenting voice without rancor, but I fully expected either Daryl or Abraham to snap at Morgan that he would not want to talk to Negan if he was on the road facing the gun barrel of his crew like they were.
Abraham and Rosita must have taught our civilians how to search and fight in formation. All of them looked good. But was Abraham maybe looking at Tasha’s butt when the Savior got the jump on him? Abraham did react quickly though. I am glad Father Gabriel has resigned himself to being a fighting priest.
The only thing that did not make sense to me is that two people who had never killed a human were teamed up. Hesitation could have been fatal. Glenn continued to show what a nice guy he is by sparing Heath from killing the sleeping man. If our team kept souvenir pictures of their kills like that savior did, they would stretch for a mile.
I think they will show us next week how Maggie and Carol were caught. But…where was Negan?
Worst break-up line: Abe to Rosita “When I met you, I thought you were the last woman on earth. You’re not.”
Favorite line: The Saviors, they’re scary, but those pricks got nothing on you.
Gabriel’s prayer was nice, but he’s got nothing’ on Samuel L. Jackson in “Pulp Fiction”.
Yeah I was also wondering what Morgan was building. I do not like this new Morgan at all Its like Gabriel is finally stepping up and Morgan's took his wimpy place.
I totally missed Abraham breaking up with Rosita! What an ass. Not for breaking it off finally but for that line
I'm not worried about Carol and Daryl. Tobin is just a little toy for now. And he said carol is a great mother figure. HA. He does not know her AT ALL.
I've read some speculation that Carol will take Glenns place. I don't know about that but I do not think they will be killing Glenn off... another character will take his place. I think Morgan. They just keep making it too obvious for it to actually happen First he was almost killed near that dumpster, then swarmed by walkers in the mid-season premiere and in this episode they show him looking at the pictures on the wall of all of Lucille's victims.
Wow, this episode really raised the body count. I can't compare it to Terminus, since that was mostly walkers.
Rick's speech notwithstanding, I didn't think this was a particularly well thought-out plan. It seemed to go straight from: 1. Here's Hilltop; 2. They have food; 3. They're fighting a bad enemy, the Saviors; 4. Alexandria will take care of the problem.
You'd think after the trouble they had with the governor, they'd be a bit more cautious. I'm dreading the vengeance Negan will reign down on them.
Carol kind of worried me all during the episode. Thanks, Anti, for giving me an idea what she was writing in her book. Poor Carol has a conscience and is feeling the burden of killing. Rick seems to have wrestled his devils and is okay with it as long as his group survives. Glad to see her baking cookies and handing them out to the residents. The one left on Sam's grave was sad. Do you suppose she was remembering telling him about tying him up to a tree and letting the walkers eat him?
Glenn also seems weighed down. I guess Rick's new directive to kill non-walkers outright is tugging at his conscience. I remember how he told Deanna he wanted Alexandria to work so they could build a new world.
It seems strange that Rick took Maggie, but not Carl.
At last Eugene and Rev Gabriel are finally stepping up.
Did they manage to get all the firearms at the Savior's place?
Who were the saviors that caught Maggie and Carol? I missed the last 2 minutes because my recorder was slightly off-time.
While I want to see all the episodes to come, I am very nervous for our group. It's almost as if they're preparing us for Glenn/Carol's deaths. Please, not Carol.....she's a terrific character.

The saviors' women captured Carol and Maggie. There was one man with them and he said Carol injured him. They must have been in a separate area from the men. I wonder if our guys would have murdered the women in their sleep? Horrible to even think about that.
It seems strange that Rick took Maggie, but not Carl.
Last week, Carl told Rick he needed to stay behind to protect the people left at Alexandria.
In spite of what Maggie said, I think Glenn and Rick should have refused to take her. Carol was more angry and forceful about Maggie being there.
I think their biggest mistake was attacking without extensive recon. Daryl and jesus are savvy and could have spied on that area for a couple of days to get better information.
