I had to hold the antenna to watch Roy even though the signal was perfect when I first turned the TV on. I lost it by going back to the computer and going back to the TV didn't help.
I have confirmed, from a post on a web site AND an announcement on my Wisconsin radio station, that the time change is next week. Someone at church said she looked it up and it was in two weeks. I don't know where she got that.
So many computer problems. First it was Dear Abby freezing. No Berkshire Hathaway problems but the computer can't handle Dear Abby? And just now I was starting up a Christmas music station on my TiVo. Earlier, trying to do that on the computer caused it to freeze (I did get a message about software updates too). Going in the other room apparently accomplished the same thing. The TiVo knows what I did on the computer in this case, so once everything was set up, it was simple.
And I see a typo above.
I heard mouse noises, and they were all over the house. Three times last night I saw a snake. Not a big one, but more like a shoelace. The first two times it got away before I could find a box or something to put it in. The third time it was on top of one of those bags from the dry cleaner which I put on the floor to walk on. I wrapped it up and put it outside. It was gone this morning but so far it hasn't been back.

So many computer problems today but at least nothing I could blame on Berkshire Hathaway. And the monitor fell yesterday. Also, Yahoo email wasn't working at the end of the day. Even this morning I got the same message but trying again did get a result. Maybe it was because they were changing Yahoo groups, but those can still have new messages posted to them. One more problem with Yahoo email. I tried to save an email and what was there appeared a second time and then a third time. I've had that happen and lost the draft. I copied and pasted in another location and, as it turned out, I got a message saying the draft wasn't saved so try again. Try again from where? it's gone!
And on the subject of Yahoo groups, Anti, I'm sort of in the same situation as you. Except Moon is still involved. Imagine if The CW message boards still existed and Moon and all of us here left to form a separate group because of a dispute, though some of us secretly continued to post on the CW site. The Moon of group no. 2 is taking advantage of Yahoo groups no longer keeping our posts to give up his group. Earlier this week he said no one had stepped up to take over so if no one did by the end of the week, he was deleting the group. I volunteered and now it's my job to move the group to a new site. Which costs $200. Also, I don't want to be in charge. Maybe I can find someone to pay and to be the administrator/moderator. Meanwhile, no word yet on the fate of the other group, comparable to the CW site. Ironically, the group headed by the person I called Moon is more like The WB under Candyce and the other group is more like The CW under Susie.
Virus scan worked fine but I saw a message about updates. Could downloading updates have caused my problems?
No Roy on Wednesday but I found the video online.
I lost my Wisconsin radio station twice due to EAS and both times got sent to women yelling about their baby daddy. I turned on the TV and same thing this morning, and lost the station for an unknown reason and same thing.
No snake.
Typo above.

The time change didn't do me any good. I was actually late doing everything. And changing my watch was difficult. If I turn it back it usually stops. It did. After a few seconds, regardless of what I did, every time I changed it. At some point it finally started working.
The man in charge of one Yahoo group told me he might have found someone to move the Yahoo group and that's just as well. I can stop doing what I'm doing. The other Yahoo group has moved to Facebook but that doesn't help me since I don't want to use my real name.
Berkshire Hathaway newspaper froze my computer twice today. Fortunately, both times I was able to save my email to myself even though it didn't appear to be happening. Once the computer unfroze on its own and the other time I couldn't wait for CTRL-ALT-DEL to work.
And my Internet went out once when I had turned on my Wisconsin radio station. And somehow that station quit working twice so I started listening on my computer, which may have added to my problems. Some Facebook timelines I couldn't see all of before they quit. My goal is to see everything posted since last week and to look only once a week.
I had to hold the antenna to watch Roy.

I saw just enough of Roy to know he was on but I haven't checked to see if the video is up online.
Virus scan worked but later I saw a message about updating software. I checked and I was able to stop updates. If you can't do it while the scan is going on and before I use the computer, what's the point? It wasn't Berkshire Hathaway today but my computer froze briefly. I blame the ads that I clicked on causing new tabs to appear, which were not ads when I clicked. Later every window disappeared one by one. Then it was just an email I was sending to myself.
The Wisconsin radio station went out several times earlier in the week and once today.
No more word about the Yahoo group I was moving.

I haven't checked on Roy, but yesterday was the only nice and warm day and I had to go to the college I graduated from because if I was going to go anywhere, it would have to be there. I also haven't checked on last Wednesday's Roy, and do I want to miss tomorrow's to go somewhere on the coldest day?
The Yahoo group is gone. No notification, no nothing. So those of us who got the Daily Digests have the only record of what was there.
My computer froze several times today. I lost a Yahoo email but it had just been saved. It just disappeared before I got the confirmation message. Also lost Facebook when it was trying to load. I've had so much trouble with Facebook today anyway. People just post too much and I can't just load one group of posts and then see the older ones.

I was told to restart yesterday but I wasn't ready. I just turned it off and don't know whether that worked. One newspaper gave me problems since I stayed on its site and forgot. ArcaMax did the same. No unplugging but CTRL-ALT-DEL took several tries.
My newest TiVo deleted a bunch of episodes I hadn't made sure wouldn't be deleted. I was at 100 percent but had plenty of deleted recordings to keep me from losing any. I was told it was a software problem they're working on and they'll get back to me. I hope I didn't lose everything. I'll be sure and make sure I keep until I delete for each one if I can get them back. I didn't bother with listening to music today.
An expired credit card caused a problem with my cell phone bill.
Two Roy videos were there. I was late Wednesday but could have easily watched if I had been able to time it right.
I know there's more but I'm late.
Something made noises under or outside my house last night.

I could put this on the Food Thread. There are other things that I need to mention there too. I filled a bottle of milk with water and emptied a soap pump into it, and somehow knocked it over and spilled water all over.
Another bad experience with a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper but this time when I restarted the computer it finally restarted. See, I wanted that to happen when I wasn't using it. Instead I had to wait 20 minutes while the percentage increased very slowly, twice.
The TiVo person didn't know what software problem I was talking about and after several tries talking to people said there's no way to get the deleted shows back because what I was supposed to try didn't work. I don't know if I didn't try every possible combination of ways to get the shows back, but they seemed certain it would work to do the one thing. The good news is they've studied the problem and maybe if it happens to someone else they have some answers. I have to go back now and make sure I record all the shows I want, because the process of getting the shows back somehow deletes the list. I was told how to keep it from happening again (I'm already doing that) and should have made sure all the episodes were labelled to not be deleted. I could have but there were just so many, and each TV series had its own list. Most of the episodes are either online or on Hulu and I already got one message saying I can get a free month of Hulu. One day soon I'll see if I can take advantage. I just hate watching so many shows on the computer. Hulu is still a little difficult even on the TV.
The Charlotte Observer will stop printing on Saturdays. I don't know yet how much work that will give me. Most of the content will be in Friday's or Sunday's paper but I'm betting not all. The Myrtle Beach paper didn't bother putting Saturday's comics anywhere except online when they did it, but the Observer seems to have promised they will. Whatever content is online I'm concerned it won't be there to see later. Saturday is not a good ay for me to try to look at the newspaper. And anything I want to keep really needs to be on paper. There's not much of that any more but if there is, I want it on paper. There seems to be a lot of "not in time for this edition" and then the next day treating it like old news and not even bothering with proper coverage. This had better not happen.

A nurse-in-training at a clinic I have been going to for years was unprofessional and rough. She complained nonstop that her back hurt, her wrist hurt, she did not like the room setup, she was tired, etc. But the worst part was she yanked a bandage from my arm and left two huge purple bruises. I tolerated her for two visits, but on the third visit, I gave the office manager a poison-pen letter describing what she had done. After reading it, he sent her out of the room and offered me either a refund ($400) or two free visits. I accepted the two free visits.

Twice today the computer froze while I was looking at a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper. What's really bad is this was an article I somehow missed before seeing it in the real newspaper and rather than Xerox it I copied the text into an email to print out later. Ctrl-Alt-Del eventually did help in one case but in another I had to unplug. Actually, there must have been a third case because each window disappeared one by one. And after I had already gone to the email address I got from the phone company, when I came back I was SIGNED OUT. Every time I try to go to that address I get sent to a main page with celebrity news and other junk. But I had just signed in.
I forgot to mention when calling TiVo I made the mistake of answering a survey question and got sent to a very aggressive salesperson who would not stop talking, and when she did and I said I just want my problem solved she kept trying to persuade me to buy her product. I had to hang up and start over.
Roy recorded on Wednesday! Also, the signal problem cleared up as I was watching on Monday and I never needed to get up from the chair.
As I was preparing the location where I will put up my tree I found WHAT WAS LEFT of a mouse. It didn't smell, but it must have earlier. If I look at my posts here I might find when I smelled a mouse but didn't know where it was. I'm not going to bother.
A typo in my above post! I'll get to it.

I finally remembered something I've been forgetting to post here. I saw what looked like a bug in the water I washed dishes in, but it might not have been. However, several weeks ago there was an entire moth.
Berkshire Hathaway messed me up once since I came here last and one window after another disappeared. I tried to click on "back" as quickly as possible but it didn't work.
I forgot to mention the virus scan but it can be assumed that worked.
I forgot to check on videos for Roy but the host found out his daughter has leukemia. I don't know how that would keep a story from airing, but I guess it's because he's busy with his daughter and they're going to wait on whatever story was going to air.

I kept having trouble with Roy's signal but it was the same story as on Wednesday.
I heard a noise that would have to be a mouse this afternoon, but only briefly.
No Berkshire Hathaway problems, but an email to my cousin disappeared when yahoo told me to sign in. If there was a problem, why don't I get to sign in before I type all that stuff? And then I didn't copy and paste when I finished the second time. I got some error related to the server taking too long to respond. Ever since I fell and I was getting my cousin to send me newspaper articles when I couldn't go to libraries where I could see them for free, I update her on my recovery. I stopped getting better several years ago and now I just stay about the same and hope not to need more surgery.

See the Cat Thread and the Food Thread.
I spoke too soon about my virus scan. The monitor was unplugged today and earlier this week. And then I stepped on the cord and the computer stopped working. So the virus scan had to be restarted, though it was still early.
No other computer problems that I'm aware of today.
Roy's Monday story (okay, he's Chad, but they still use the name) was last Wednesday's. I also saw Wednesday's, which recorded just fine.
A noise in the kitchen turned out to be a bird but I saw it leaving.
Official confirmation this week that the Observer will stop Saturday editions. What I saw earlier said only the two largest papers in the Carolinas but then went on to list two different papers.

I definitely saw the mouse several times and heard it even more than that over the weekend. But nothing today.
Saw Roy today. Meaning Chad.
Three times I tried to read a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper article. Three times I had to use CTRL-ALT-DEL but once the site just disappeared and so did the email I was working on. And the length of the article wasn't the problem (though I generally copy and paste, either to print out later or read where I can do it without problems) because I read another article that was only three lines and the same thing happened.
I bought an electric shaver but it seems worse than the one I have. I didn't use that one last week because I used the older one that won't stay plugged in and needs replacement parts, but works. So I left the rechargeable one unplugged because it was charged. Was.

No problems with the virus scan but a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper froze, without affecting the other windows.
Saw Roy Wednesday.
I thought it would be a simple matter to be compensated by a store where I bought underwear that was poor quality. This store used to sell a quality product but replaced it with a brand that isn't any good, but that didn't stop it from being way more expensive than the good underwear. The manager offered me a 25 percent discount but I didn't think that fully compensated me for all the pairs that tore or the one I finally had to throw away last week. After all, the brand she suggested was buy two get one free. But they only had one of the style I wanted in my size. And I was told no, I had to buy three to get that deal. I was told the other two pairs could be ordered while I was there (at first I thought ordering meant I'd have to come back, which I didn't want to do). By this time I've wasted a great deal of time. As they tried to order the underwear, there was some problem and they apologized to the people behind me in line. I sat and waited for them to fix the problem and it wasn't. They told me to come back. I said I didn't have time and said I'd report the incident to the corporate office. I went to the web site and a library a few minutes later. I got a response asking for more information, and it had an 800 number. The person who answered offered me a 10 percent discount. That WILL NOT DO. After explaining what I wanted, the person told me she can only help me if I bought the underwear online. I said I did not contact the web site, but the company, and I expected HER to solve my problem. She said she'd report the problem to the store. I said I wouldn't shop at the store ever again if they didn't solve the problem. All she ever did was tell me she's connected with the web site and can't help me with a store problem. I started ALL OVER with the web site and made it very clear what I had been put through and made it VERY CLEAR this was a store problem and not a web site problem and I still expected it to be solved. I found a second place to report a problem and did that too. I did get a response saying they referred the problem to someone who supervises stores. We will see.
See the Food Thread. Also the Weather Thread which I have to update.

I have seen the mouse several times and also heard what may be a mouse. I got glue traps but haven't decided where a good place to put them is.
No results yet from the store that gave me so much trouble. I'm going to another store in the same chain tomorrow and they'd BETTER solve this problem.
I was told to restart my computer. Naturally, it took the longest time to finish with updates. It was maybe 20 minutes but that seems like a long time.
A Berkshire Hathaway newspaper froze the computer twice today but I managed to save an email draft before it just disappeared.
Speaking of email I haven't gotten one from the woman whose cell phone I borrowed to take a picture of the tree. She wasn't home over the weekend when I stopped by.

No problem with the virus scan but Berkshire Hathaway newspapers made me use CTRL-ALT-DEL twice.
The Christmas tree photo may get emailed tomorrow. I saw the woman's truck but when she answered the door she said she tried twice but her phone was cheap. Her husband's phone was better. One of her kids might make it work.
One email to my cousin didn't go through (twice) and it took a long time to find this out. Responding to another email worked.
The manager at the store where I got the underwear was really nice. It took some time to find it but they had the underwear I needed. And I got the deal that was promised. The management of the entire chain has failed (unless the manager of the store where I went was involved, but they should still respond if that happened). This will not be forgotten.
I keep hearing the mouse and occasionally seeing it. If it was easier to see I could trap it in a shoebox and dispose of it, or put out the glue trap.
Saw Roy Monday, forgot to check on Wednesday. Next week the library is open only on Monday.
Electric shaver didn't work. The red light was on so it should have been charging. In fact, it didn't need charging.
I was about to use the last Brillo in the box but there was a bug there.
Vacuum cleaner just quit. I don't go to the library where I can get it fixed or replaced until the second week of January.

UGH!
I ordered a replacement WiFi router which was supposed to arrive today no later than 8 P.M. but the driver decided to only speak to one of the other residents in my building and later mark my package as delivered and signed even my last name to it.
Now I'm in the process of filing claims with UPS and can't contact Verizon about this until no earlier than Monday morning.
This is incredibly frustrating because of some idiot's negligence to not take the time to put the package back on the truck if it was indeed missing my apartment number.
Now I have to reorder another one through Verizon and hopefully they can reapply a coupon code to a router since the original order has gone missing!

I'm still missing my replacement WiFi router and Verizon gave a tracking number and it says out for delivery but then oddly it now says it's missing address information! What the fudge guys?! Where is my replacement WiFi router? And I'm still waiting on the local UPS to call me back still regarding the original order.

I've used the new electric shaver. It's hard to turn on.
The monitor was unplugged yesterday. The computer was today. And then I stepped on the plug and it was unplugged again after I turned it on. And then it happened again.
Still waiting on a photo of my Christmas tree. I'm taking it down tomorrow regardless. The woman said she'd have her family over this past weekend but I never saw them. Someone would have been able to help.
I may have heard the mouse but I haven't seen it.
I don't think I've had any newspaper problems other than a long-running script but that's Gannett.
I replied to an email from a manager at the store where I tried to buy the underwear. She said she would honor the price in January. I emailed back that the other store took care of everything.
I can't find store brand square paper towels. News flash: Choose a size is what YOU did. I can't do it because YOU, the manufacturer, don't give me the correct size to choose. Also, if I choose the closest size, sometimes the smaller size is what I end up with.
I saw the newscast yesterday but there was no Roy (actually Chad). I hope he didn't come on later when I wasn't recording.
On the second to last day when an actual radio station would be playing Christmas music, I heard a lot of bad songs today. And that was on the Wisconsin radio station. After tomorrow I have to try the alternatives suggested online. But I'm afraid the songs I really want to hear won't be on any of them, or that songs I don't want might be on some.

I keep hearing the mouse. Or mice. How it gets from one place to the other without my hearing it go I don't understand.
Two weeks straight I didn't see any proof I completed the virus scan. I posted last week that it worked but I didn't see anything this week and that reminded me I don't think it happened last week either. I did the same thing to start it but I don't think it's working for some reason.
No newspaper problems.
Still waiting on the tree photo but the tree is gone.
A response from the company I had the problem with, but they said contact the store. I did get a response from the store just because I tried a second method of complaining.
I was told how to listen to 12 hours of good Christmas music on YouTube but they keep getting interrupted by annoying commercials. It takes a few seconds to click on "Skip ad" but even some of the worst ones take too much time to allow that. Even the commercials that are not annoying can be long. I did find one Christmas music radio station still not doing what they do the rest of the year, but that's because people think it is changing after the holiday. And I did have to keep turning it off before it turned itself off.
No Roy on Wednesday, apparently, because what I recorded were not newscasts.

I completed the virus scan after getting off the computer. One time I tried turning off the computer and it wouldn't.
I had one problem with a Berkshire Hathaway newspaper and it wasn't really hard to solve.
One Christmas music station is still going, and there is online speculation about why and what that means for the station's future. Some good music, some not so good. I heard the station in the car briefly but other stations mess it up. I tried the video a couple of times over the weekend. Still annoying me with commercials.
Still waiting on the tree photo. She can't get it out of her phone. She emailed it three times but I never receive it.
I got a new TiVo since they're on sale. Now I can get an outdoor antenna and test it. But I'm not optimistic that I can give up cable.
I keep hearing the mouse, though not today. The one place I put a trap it hasn't worked.
