Many thanks to our superb graphic designer anicat who created it!
In that image you'll see quite a story. As anicat describes it:
"The green on the side and curling lines are meant to reflect the "Green Goo", and its reach into our lives. The crowd of footprints walking away are symbolic of leaving. And in its own way, the sand is impermanence."
The masthead actually tells our story in both images and words.
The name 'The Evicted' comes from our own PurpleDragon, who, when we were researching boards to use, set one up with that wonderful title.
The word 'home' in the description below that comes directly from Ohleesa, who turned us on to this amazing song which we kinda took as our theme song for the forum immediately:
This truly was a group effort, and many thanks to everyone who helped, especially you anicat, for taking all this divurgent stuff and putting it together graphically in the perfect way.

But like Mistermoonlight said upthread, it is a collaborative effort...I had a general idea of the graphic concept I wanted, but after learning the name "The Evicted" it was like the exact vision of how it had to look came together. I see it as something that can be read two ways: one as a sort of lonely image of what happened to all of us, all the footprints walking away as a reminder of people who once were there, but now are gone, our leave-taking. But I prefer to think of the footprints as evidence that we all left together, and are walking towards someplace better. ![]() |

anicat, wow, that's so beautiful, you did such a good job and I am very proud to be here. I am really glad that so much posters from the CWlounge came here and its more than home feeling here, its much better.
The masthead is beautiful and the theme is so fitting and its reminding me at the old CW, the letters, the green color, the foot steps, GREAT JOB, thank you!!!
And its so much better here with the things we can do and post thank you all[glow=red,2,300][/glow]

Update: I just saw it in your thread, Ash, and you know what's going on? Many of us here have been having the same ideas at the same time. It's synchronicity, and your drawings show it's very real. It's just like what happened in Close Encounters of the Third Kind!
