I had an easy bake oven, but I always ate the mix before I baked it... I remember crying when elvis died... I used to dance to his records... I had a holly hobbie radio...and would listen to radio stories when I went to bed...those were cool... Have been wanting to find out more about thrilling adv by ben blacker because its supposed to be like those old radio stories My sister got the easy bake oven. I hated her for it for a long time. When Elvis died, I thought it was a joke and refused to believe it. Do you guys remember how often someone made a joke about Elvis dying? The year the Beatles came out and were a hit my mother told me Elvis died. I started to cry and she said, "the Beatles ate him." I was mad the whole weekend.! Mags did you listen to old radio shows? One of my geatest latest finds was a collection of old Shadow radio shows on dvd. I've listened while traveling many times.

I remember having some Lone Ranger stickies and put a correction on a doc for secretary that said "how would the Lone Ranger fix that?" She didn't know who the Lone Ranger was or what I meant with the sticky.

I never had an Easy-Bake Oven but I did have a toy called "Incredible Edibles." You put some goo into a hot plate with shapes like spiders and the like and they jelled and you could eat them. I don't remember if they tasted good or bad, but I'm still alive, so at least they weren't fatal. Does anyone else remember that? It would have been sometime in the mid-60's. Oh wow, I had an Incredible Edibles! I remember it well! I can remember eating the spiders!

It was called "Creepy Crawlers" and again you poured some colored goo into a hot plate with various bug shapes and it solidified and then you had a menagerie of bugs. Those you could not eat. It was only after the popularity of it that they came out with the "IE." Can you imagine the uprour if some toy company came out with something like that now? Riots in the streets - ha-ha!

IMO, we are no longer allowing our children to be kids. Can't go outside and use imagination in play. Set them in front of the tv/games system and let them grow up to be socially isolated, afraid of everything. I even read there is a type of Alzheimer affecting young people that is caused by too much video/gaming. I wouldln't trade my childhood for what today's youth get.

You know I have to agree with you...kids these days they expect instant entertainment. They dont know how to create their own entertainment. they dont know how to use their imagination,or build things with their hands.... I think their too connected to be honest... OMG I had never heard of that, but I wouldnt doubt it....if your not using your entire brain there is always a chance you'll lose it..

I can remember Christmas Day, when I was a kid (in the 60's-70's), you'd see all the kids out riding their new bikes or skating in their new skates. THINGS TO DO OUTSIDE!! Now, Crhistmas Day is quiet outside. I guess all the kids are glued to their electronic devices. I know, I know, things change, but kids should be playing outside at least for a little while.

Christmas Day used to be awesome for kids. All of us would be outside, showing off our new toys. Bicycles, Ryder wagons, and the like.
Today's kids sit in front of computers, hardly ever moving. No wonder there's such an increase in childhood obesity.
I wouldn't want to be a kid today.

Damn I dont want to pay that much.... Me neither, I'm all about finds. Maybe the one site will let us record them to cds. It looks like they run on donations. I'll chip in some if they let me record. Or buy used on Amazon. Cool. I want a Kindle Fire.

Boy I would sure love to see LoveJeter here, especially for the play-by-plays she does so well. With a new episode on Friday, I will miss that.

I've seen lovejeter retweeted once my timeline once so one of the people I'm following must follow her. I will try to track her down SoCal. Okay, I'm going to do my best "Dean" imitation: "Ohleesa...................you're AWESOME!!!!"

Hello everyone! All is well. It took me 3 hours to figure out how to get my avatar but it worked. I did get Bieber'd for a short time by my friend @ohleesa. Emmy88 helped me solve the mystery that I could not. Hope you are all well. I see we are still searching for some old CW members. Sorry to say I don't know where they are at. Hopefully the will be found soon. Nothing else to exciting going on except 48 hours until Supernatural is back on. Thank goodness! Can not wait for a new episode. Will check back over the weekend. Everyone have a good rest of their week. TTYL!

She doesn't seem interested, but she may show up. All are welcome here. Puppy, Don't you think LC should get a Bieber for not putting up his Lauren Cohen avatar. Not to start trouble or anything.

Is anyone else old enough and grumpy enough to hate this "mid-season finale" madness the networks seemed to have latched onto? Yeah, yeah, I know.....seasons are shorter now: instead of 28 shows per season, we're down to 22 (23 this year for our guys! :DYippee!). And over on the other cable channels like USA, AMC, etc., after about 8 new shows, they disappear completely for about 2-3 months. That really doesn't help with continuity or the fact that I have trouble remembering all the story lines (and some are SO complicated) that when the show finally does reappear, some things don't make sense BECAUSE U CAN'T REMEMBER ALL THE DETAILS FROM 3 MONTHS AGO!! Sorry for being grumpy, but this is the old folks home and we've earned the right to be grumpy, right?
