Return to the days of yesteryear. Remember when everything was in Black and White? List your favorite monochrome memories here. I will start with my earliest memory of television. The Twilight Zone episode #98....season three. It must have been a rerun....because I was not yet born when it originally aired. Aside from Night of the Living Dead.....which is also monochrome...this is the scariest thing that I remember.

The very first episodes of Gunsmoke are airing as 'Marahll Dillon'.
Lots of people die. Doc never manages to save anyone. Just WHAT dies Miss Kitty do for a living? Every time we see the jail house.....Matt and Chester are always cleaning their guns.

Every time we see the jail house.....Matt and Chester are always cleaning their guns. This still remains one of the best shows produced. I watch everyday on Encore Western channel. Yes a lot of people died. They talk of violence in shows today? They got nothin on westerns of yesteryear! Doc has saved a bunch of people. He just dint do to good a job on those that were not regulars. At 1st Kitty was one of the working girls. Saloon girls = prostitute. When this show was on the radio before TV it was clearly laid out what the Longbranch was all about and what the ladies who worked there did. In fact some real old timers complained that once the show went to TV it ruined it because of how nicey nice they made it. The radio series continued for 3 years I believe when the TV show started and at first got better overall ratings. Most say this was because people still did not have TV in the households like they do today. They have to keep the weapons clean for all that killing! What I always notice is all the drinking that goes on. But I suppose back in them days it was that or the loco weed for entertainment each night.

Hello I watch it everyday, as well. A few years ago they were showing Maverick. I want to see Rawhide....but i do not always get home in time....and I forget to set the vcr. I am a big fan of old radio shows. I have not heard very many epis of Gunsmoke, but i really like Johnny Dollar, Box 13 and Lights Out. There is a radio show on some AM dials that play them....it is called Radio Spirits. On satellite it is called Radio Classics. Do you recall the classic holiday series called The Cinnamon Bear?

Look into The Cinnamon Bear for the holidays.
I can burn and send you all 28 episodes.
It seemed to have been a staple of yule holiday radio.
i believe that idea was that the first epi would air on Thanksgiving night and continue each evening towards Christmas Eve.

This is really wonderful. Sometimes I wish the radio was still all there was for entertainment. I love the way kids sounded "back then." Their voices remind me of "Leave it to Beaver." Their attic reminds me of my basement.

Their attic reminds me of my basement. I listen to it faithfully night after night....during the Yule Season. I will burn them and send them along......and the offer is good for any poster who might have an interest.

I'm glad you do. Our lives are way too complicated, aren't they? Let me see if I can get them electronically first, so I don't have more "stuff" to store. And if I can't, then I'll take you up on it.

A retro TV network started running a British series "The Invisible Man." I saw an episode and am shocked at the effects they were able to pull off that long ago.
