There is a place just north of here....it is a state park called Bloomer.

There is a lot of history there....and it is quite inspirational...

It is my church.

I have moments of writings......I call them 'Word Pictures'

Here is one of them.....

This thing...

Not sure where it started.....perhaps someone read Howl or Naked Lunch. Maybe they caught James Dean playing his bongos somewhere..... after a session at the Actor's studio. Maybe it was a copy of On the Road that someone left in a bus terminal or a roadside diner.

Individuals started showing up at coffee houses. Sometimes they read their poetry...sometimes they played their bongos.
The important thing is....they did not care to follow the system. The formula that gurantees success, fame and fortune. They just wanted to be raw, honest and free.

As time moved on, the coffee houses became too popular....so they had to go underground....to the Garage.....or the frat house basement.
Marijuana and psychedelics and the fender amp helped to morph this thing into the next stage.
They did not care about intricate chords or chord changes.....they just wanted to vent.

When the garage could no longer contain them....they sought out the clubs.
It was never about fame....just the desire to spread the vent and the rage.
To reach more of the like minded Punks.

And then it was over.

The producers and promoters finally recognized the genie in the bottle.
They lured many of them into the limelight. This became the New Wave.
Many were still true to the form....but they still gave in to the $$$...and the trend setting network that promised them the moon.

As this progressed....they were several factions.
The Brits.
The Boys.
The Techs.
The Serge.
The Goth.
The Angst.

As time would show, most would become watered down with their own repetition....save for the Goths...I guess.

Just as the last breath seemed near....The Grunge pulled themselves out of ( or jumped into ) the mud to lay one last claim on this thing.
