[Watchtower]

You insisted... so I'm delivering... for those of you who know me, you know how much I loved writing. I've been writing since the third grade. This is the first poem I've written. It was for an assignment during college. I wrrote this because every student there turned their backs on me and I still don't know why. It's kinda sad but... here...


I am me

Who do you think I am?
You think you know me, but you don’t.
I know who I am.
I am me.

I am pretty.
I am smart.
I am friendly.
I am content.

I am honest.
I am fair.
I like to help others.
I always try to do the right thing.

I work hard.
I study hard.
I know how to have good clean fun.
I stand up for what I believe in.

I know I’m not perfect, no one is.
I don’t mean to be a bully if I am.
I always have good intentions.
I never want to do wrong.

Why am I being treated wrong?
I see everyone else make the same mistakes.
Yet, they have friends.
I have no friends.

What is wrong with me?
Why does everyone hate me?
Please tell me why.
I want the honest truth.

Here's another poem I wrote. It was the second poem I had to write for an assignment during college:


Love

What is love?
Love is very hard to define.

Love is not easy.
In fact, it’s very complicated.

Love is a feeling.
It’s a couple.

Two people fall in love.
They always expect it to last.

Sometimes it does.
Sometimes it doesn’t.

Love means:
Friendship,
Tolerance,
Acceptance,
Communication,
Commitment,
…And more.

What do you believe?
Do you believe in love?


I actually wrote this poem when my ex (the bastard who used me) and I broke up for the last time.

This poem I wrote one day last summer... I just woke up and the words to this poem just hit me like a wave that day, so I wrote it up... here ya go...

A Summer Storm

Wake up in the morning to clear blue skies
The sun is bright
The birds are chirping
Not a cloud in sight

By early afternoon, the clouds roll in
First they’re light, then very dark
Powerful, menacing, dangerous

First comes the harsh winds
blowing through the trees.

Then comes the booming thunder
that shakes the ground

Then comes bright lightning
that lights up the whole sky.

Here comes the rain…

Little droplets of water
pouring down on the ground
drenching everything in sight.

Then late afternoon rolls around
and the storm lets up.

As the clouds part,
there’s a rainbow.


This is the last of my poems for awhile until I can find an inspiration for another poem... until then, I basically write a scene for a story... it's not the story, it's just what I do to practice my writing and keep the creative juices flowing. It's in the Written Wonders Incorporated forum.

What is this? Another poem? Just wrote it this morning, in fact... ;D

Another Storm

I notice it’s darker in my room than normal.
I look out the window. “Another storm” I think.
I see the bright flashes of light that lights up the sky.
They blind you for a second if you happen to see it.

Then I hear a rumbling, so deep.
The clouds get a little darker as I hear it.
The sound is so deep and low, it’s almost soothing.
But you know it comes just before the rain.

Suddenly, I hear drops of water hitting my window.
I look outside just as it starts pouring.
It’s like Mother Nature, watering her garden.
And her Garden is the Earth.

I watch the storm as it goes by.
It’s relaxing to see and hear.
It almost makes you forget your troubles,
to see beauty such as this.

As I watch the storm,
I feel my troubles washing away.
Then I see the sun peeking through,
and the rain is glistening in the light.

The ray of light shines a little brighter,
making it a more breathtaking sight.
It’s like seeing that glimmer of hope,
when you are in the dark.

I love it! I put a new one up myself, it's in my poetry thread! It expresses about how I feel about the current love I have in my life!

I wrote this poem a few days ago... it's funny, I just wrote it and then I realized... "Wait a sec, did I just write my first sonnet!?"

I believe this is a Shakespearean sonnet... and I'm hoping that I'm not mistaken or my hard work, my highest grades, and my knowledge from tutoring other students... let's just say my literature teachers would be shocked if I was mistaken.

Anyways, this is a poem I have included in my blog entry dealing with mental illness, but it was inspired by my friends here who have seen me at my best and my worst.

Feelings

Anger and frustration
makes you want to scream
so you go to a therapy session
just to blow off some steam

Sadness and depression
creeps on you like a team
you want to get rid of the tension
and you wish this was just a bad dream

Content and hopefulness
when good things come our way
as long as we’re in business
we’ll always have words to say

Compassion and happiness
and hopes that friends will stay
we all need that closeness
to help us through the day

This is life, the good and the bad
don’t give up, there are so many memories to be had
