There was a big event marking the move by the Panthers to South Carolina. So it's official.
I was wrong that there is no big championship that an N.C. team is eligible for. In fact, the AHL Charlotte Checkers won the Calder Cup. While it's not a major league team, the AHL is the next level, and that was a national championship.
The Wisconsin baseball team had a game today. I'm finally able to listen to the music again. My other attempts to listen elsewhere didn't go so well.

I had never heard of the Calder Cup. The Wisconsin station had an early game on a day when I wanted to listen. displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com/thread/190/ipod My posts there will give you some idea of what I like. I've had to settle for music more like KramdenAntiVirus and InsertBrainHere and even VelvetEars like, because what I like isn't generally found on commercial radio and I haven't had an easy time finding something good online. The big advantage to the Wisconsin station is I can listen on the TiVo and it doesn't cause problems for my computer. The only other station I've found a way to listen to on the TiVo plays too much Frank Sinatra. I know it would seem I could never get enough but after a while, I even get tired of him. |

I didn't hear the details but there's a better chance Charlotte will get a pro soccer team.
Of course, Raleigh is trying too and there is a big plan for a new stadium.

The Timber Rattlers played today. I decided enough time had passed and I turned on the TV to see if the game was over. They lost 11-2. The man doing the post-game show said. "We hope you enjoyed the broadcast if not the result".
I'm glad my music comes back after the news.

The baseball team played on Monday so I didn't get to listen to my favorite radio station.
And today something went wrong and I had to restart the station. Later in the day it quit again and I just started it on the computer, and then it quit several times.
The Panthers are the subject of an Amazon documentary. Specifically, last season when things went so terribly wrong.

The next game is a night game.
I was at my aunt's house yesterday and one of my cousins was explaining to my uncle how to get any baseball game for free on a phone. He would actually like to watch on TV, but whatever he did will allow that.

"Reef Break" will be bumped to 3 in the morning. Since I know this will happen, I will record with an antenna at the normal time.
The Panthers seem to be serious about putting a roof on the stadium. I thought I heard something about a new stadium but I think it's just improvements to the existing one.

Nope, it's a new stadium they want. I must have misheard what they said on TV, but the newspaper only says 20 years down the road they want a new stadium.
Baseball on Tuesday but the other station I tried played a really good song the other one doesn't.
"Reef Break" recorded with the antenna. I'll check to see what recorded from cable but I'm not optimistic. If something got cut off I'll switch to the other.

WMNI has sounded good today (mostly) but the baseball team was playing.
"Reef Break" didn't record during the night but maybe that's because I already had the episode. I had a scare when the recording froze. Then the TiVo restarted.

A baseball game this week so I had to change radio stations. I forget which day.
"Reef Break" is bumped to late night next week. I set the other TiVo to record with an antenna.

Colin Kaepernick still doesn't have a job. I heard someone on the radio commenting about how Jay-Z used to support him and now he's a team owner.
Cam Newton needs a backup and I heard somewhere that was going to be Kaepernick. The new Panthers owner doesn't have a problem with protests. well, I guess he's not the new owner any more.
One of the contenders for backup is named Kyle.

Cam Newton needs a backup and I heard somewhere that was going to be Kaepernick. Now he really needs a backup. I saw a headline suggesting this possibility after Cam was hurt. I forgot that I recorded "Reef Break" with an antenna. I couldn't have transferred it last night until the show was over. |

Someone I went to high school with posted this. He was complaining on Facebook that the joke was in poor taste. The web site, which he complained to and got a response from, started out reporting that a boy was being abused and was asked which person he wanted to live with. But he was abused by both of them. The web site ended by reporting the boy was sent to a high school that my high school plays against. I'll let you figure out what the punchline was.

"Reef Break" had two episodes last night. I forgot to check to see if it would be on. I turned on the TV and there was a football game. So I went to the TV with an antenna and set the TiVo to record. I checked to make sure it had already recorded the first part and it had. And part of another episode was still there! So I have to depend on the other station to get it right when I record the episode I only got the end of. I set the TiVo to record the show that precedes it and the one that follows it. I do know I got the episode I had expected.

The Ravens have a new quarterback and he has proven he was the right choice. He was known for running the ball, but in the first game, his passing percentage was perfect. In the second game, his percentage was near perfect.
Ravens 2 - 0
Google sent me a notification link to watch the highlights of the game. That was an awesome 10 minutes. It is now my favorite way to watch football.

Cam Newton is out at least for this week. The Panthers have lost twice and just casually looking at headlines, it looks like he was a big reason.
No news about Kaepernick, which is who they need. instead they have someone named kyle.
It's such a big story I heard it on the Wisconsin radio station which has a top of the hour newscast. I've heard this newscast on several stations but they never say where it comes from. I hear "I'm Mike Moss" or some other name.
