That's probably why outlawing drugs hasn't stopped the illegal drug trade. Lots of deaths there, too.

It is glaringly true that only law-abiding citizens will be prevented from owning guns. When law-abiding citizens are in an unsafe environment, especially in their own homes, they have the right to defend themselves.

I have done some research on the recommendations and in fairness to President Obama, I see nothing that would prevent me from owning a gun. Therefore, in an effort to support my President’s proposal.

I am willing to give up my assault weapons.
I am willing to give up my high capacity magazines.
I am willing to limit myself to magazines with 10 rounds (if I don’t hit my target by the 10th bullet, I should run away).
I am willing to give up my armor piercing ammunition.
But, I am keeping my .38

I am willing to do this because I am not a criminal who is at war with other criminals. I am a law-abiding citizen.

I cannot deny that government has a history of proposing or creating laws, then tacking amendments when we are not paying attention. My own state has done that many times.

If people are opposing the current proposals as a means of preventing a complete ban in the future, I understand that reasoning. I don't understand why some are misleading us by making it sound as if a complete ban is being proposed now because that confuses the issue.

I am now going to watch episodes of Haven that were postponed following one of the mass shootings.

The figure for the assault rifles is low because their aim is poor and they spray everything except their targets.

It's because most of the people who use assault rifles are cowardly gang members, who blast their guns while doing a drive by.

People like that should be executed by the police. In fact, I cheer whenever LAPD officers shot gang members.
