74 years ago today, American men, many as young as 18 were landing on a beach in Normandy, France. They were there to ensure that you and I have the life of freedom we now enjoy. Many of them never made it out of the landing boats, but those who did fought with fierce determination.

Almost every Facebook timeline of someone I went to high school with that I saw today said the same thing. Bill Clinton created it. Obama enforced it. Why are you yelling at Trump and not them?

Why couldn't they have let Merrick Garland take a seat on the Supreme Court? Trump would now have the opportunity to nominate Gorsuch. I'm concerned without Kennedy the court will be too conservative. There was a nice balance.

Not as many of my high school classmates mentioned this. In fact, I found it only once.
But those who responded didn't think much of Maxine Waters. Neither do I. Those people who threw Sarah Huckabee out of the restaurant should be ashamed.

I think about 3 1/2 years before I can kiss it all good-bye. I'm also planning on leaving California. Too expensive to retire here. Also, the state has gone completely crazy.

Charlotte is the home to the 2020 Republican Convention.
If Trump is still around and gets nominated again, that's where it will happen.
Charlotte itself is Democratic, but surrounding counties including mine are Republican.

Charlotte is The Queen City, named for the wife of George III, who was king when we became the United States and fought a revolution. The city's symbol is a crown. An editorial cartoon shows Trump wearing that crown.

On the English Wikipedia Help Desk, someone asked if it was possible to change articles so they appear in British English, which is not possible. The explanation given was that each article is written in the type of English related to the topic. For example, an article about Queen Elizabeth II would be written in British English, one about Donald Trump would be written in American English, and one about New Zealand would be written in New Zealand English. Which produced the following exchange (the actual screen names appear at the end of the comment): Wikipedia volunteer no. 1: Will writing about Donald Trump in New Zealand English force him to move there? On "To Tell the Truth", someone used the word trump as a verb, not intending for it to have anything to do with the man, and Mama Doris said trump was not a good word to use.
