FOX renews 'Sleepy Hollow' for Season 2 By Sydney Bucksbaum October 3, 2013 1:26 PM ET
Ichabod Crane better get used to life in the 21st century, since he's sticking around for another year.
FOX has renewed "Sleepy Hollow" for a second season, the network announced on Thursday (Oct. 3).
"The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking -- it's a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast," Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment at Fox, says. "I can't wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season 2."
The 13-episode second season renewal will take the place of a back nine pickup, meaning Season 1 will only consist of 13 episodes. The new episodes will air next year.
The "Sleepy Hollow" series premiere earned a 5.0/13 rating and drew 13.6 million viewers total, making it Fox's most successful fall drama premiere since the debut of "24" in November 2001.
Are you glad "Sleepy Hollow" will ride again for a new season?

Yah! I wonder why they renewed it as opposed to giving it a full season?

This is based on a German story. I learned that on "Jeopardy".
And I didn't realize the captain was named Irving. That's the name of the man who wrote the American version!

I forget what happened to John Cho. He's technically dead, but dead in a way that allows him to keep appearing on the show.
I mention this because he has a new series "Selfie" which sounds pretty bad. If it gets cancelled ...

There is a Sleepy Hollow Drive where I went in the mountains last week.

I saw John Cho in "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle".
I saw a really long commercial for this show and it got me excited.

The pilot was on last night. They're really trying to get people interested.
I didn't have to watch, of course.

Weird. The TiVo said it taped this show but I recognized Bones.

I really like this show and I would watch the repeats, but I have too many shows to watch.

When does season 2 start? I caught some of an episode last week. Of course i don't remember what day it was or even which episode but it was nice to have the option to see it again.

I saw the start of an episode and it was fortunate that what I saw was a funny scene where Crane was frustrated by the world not being like he remembers. Of course, he's not expected to know Dickens, who wrote after Crane's previous life.

I think they're airing repeats on Thurs nights... Oh, and i found out from Entertainment Weekly that the new season starts on Sept 22nd. They have a short article in their latest issue. In fact, i when they feature TV as opposed to movies which they did in this time. It's all about the new fall season and gives premiere dates for both new shows and returning ones. I haven't gotten around to marking them all on my calendar but i plan to.

I'm dreading the return of this show. I wouldn't mind waiting and watching it later, but unless I figure out how to transfer to VHS (that is an option) and have enough tapes, I have to watch and delete so more shows can be taped. Actually, with the TV that is hooked up to the one TiVo, it was because the VHS broke and I can't depend on that to work.
Some people said they would watch "Smallville" and skip the Lana parts. Of course here, the funny parts are hard to identify.

^^^ Does that mean you might watch it a few days after it airs? "Sleepy Hollow" is one of the shows I look forward to watching when it airs. Fortunately, the only show that would compete for my attention does not come on at the same time.

Give me time. Anything that aired twice this week I'll tape the second time. I have a LOT to watch since I was at the beach. And I risked losing anything taped early.

We need an episode topic for the first episode. I was very confused. They kept going back and forth from the real world to a fantasy world and I didn't know what was real and what wasn't. If you know how I feel, you'll know I enjoyed the birthday celebration because it had the most humor. And then there was Ben Franklin. Now we know the story of the key! I didn't realize for the longest time that Abby's sister was even in the episode. I thought that when she changed worlds she changed her hair too. I finally realized the neater hair was Abby and the other girl was her sister.

I'm just glad there was still humor.
Now they want us to believe Judas and Benedict Arnold were both influenced by the same coin?

My favorite part this week was Crane learning to drive. Though he seems to have mastered using a phone.
If you want to see a funny scene about people who have only used cell phones (though at their age it couldn't have been true) you should find this week's "New Girl" which will be available for some right now and others next week.

Well, I liked the start of the episode. That much I remember.
But all this evil stuff is just too weird.
I'm surprised there weren't other people reacting to all the noise in the library.

There was a lot of comedy in the one this week. That makes me happy.
Still, the weirdness was about the same and I don't like that.
Crane sure does like playing video games.

What were they thinking?
I taped two movies I wanted to see. One I was pretty sure I had seen. I got this show instead. The second time, the announcer said the marathon continues.
A day late.
And I checked "view upcoming showings" and the movies weren't there.

I nearly missed this last night. It's a good thing I looked to see everything I had recorded and not watched which wasn't labeled as green (meaning it won't be deleted). TiVo doesn't use red, but uses an exclamation point inside yellow.
As you might expect, the election-related scenes were my favorite part. Also where Crane wanted "to Internet". I was surprised they had dial-up where they were, and by how fast the information actually came up after Crane's complaint about that annoying sound. It doesn't come up that fast for me and my Internet is faster than dial-up. But not by much. After a while, the difference from fast Internet on the sites I go to at home isn't even noticeable.
So Katrina is pregnant and no one is the father? Sounds like "Jane the Virgin" which I believe airs at the same time.
Parents younger than their children sounds like "Resurrection" and "Once Upon a Time".

I have watched all of the episodes and I thought I had posted about them. 2.07 Deliverance - When Abbie and Ichabod learn Katrina is in danger, they must race against the clock to help her.
Sleepy Hollow was both serious and hilarious. They even had a scene where Ichabod and Abby went to the polls to vote. That was well timed for our mid-term elections. Ichabod complained that only 40% of the people vote. He was hilarious when he said more than that vote for “American Idolatry”. Henry prepared a spell that would allow Moloch to be born into our realm and he used Katrina as the vessel. Abraham tried to save her, but he cannot stand in sunlight. Katrina got away and was sent to a hospital. Ichabod took her from the hospital and learned some information that made him more jealous and suspicious than he already was. Even in his anger, he remained a gentleman. It was good to see Capt. Irving again because the new Captain is beginning to accept Ichabod, which made me wonder if Irving would remain with Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod- isms: He thought it was ridiculous that he could not enter the voting booth with Abby because General Washington gave beer to people at the ballot box. When Abby put the “I voted” sticker on Ichabod and asked if that made him feel better, he said “oddly, it did.” Abby dressed Katrina in some tight jeans and a top from the hospital’s “lost and found”. Ichabod said “Perhaps they should have remained lost.” At their hide-out, they had to use a dial up computer. Ichabod complained about the grating sound and the slowness, which reminded me of when I first used AOL. Ichabod was referred to as a “walking historical society”. When Ichabod was using his wits to crack a safe, Abby became anxious and snapped “It’s a freaking evil club; try 666!” It worked. When the Captain asked Ichabod to explain again what he does, he said he is “a criminal profiler with emphasis on historical imitation”. I think that was well done.

I thought of 666 myself. after all, they keep referring to the Book of Revelation.
I thought Katrina looked good in those jeans.
I remember that sound with dial-up Internet from one library I went to where I wasn't using the Internet at the time. And where I did when they had it, I didn't get there until long after the library opened. I don't know why I heard the sound at that one library. I still hear a similar sound at one library when they send faxes, which believe it or not people still do.

I liked the humor this week, as usual. And as usual, it was mostly focused on the evil stuff which I could do without.

I don't think Kimba's strategy will work.
Or I could just copy what I already said. When I get time.
