I think I am going to love this series because of the issues it raises. Plus, I am an Omar Epps fan.
When the 8 year old was returned to his parents, there was a dramatic difference in the father's reaction than the mother's. She readily accepted him, but the father seems more upset than anything else. One good thing is the returnees are not zombie-like.
The sheriff was very hostile to the agent and I thought he was going to undermine the investigation. I guess it was just a turf war because he submitted the DNA test and results.
At least two people returned in this episode and I am wondering how many will return.

I am watching a show on ABC and they just announced that 20 million people watched Resurrection. That's a great start for the show. I plan to continue watching it. I think I need to invest in a DVR that will record 5 shows at one time. The networks are playing a smart game of pitting excellent shows against each other, darn it. Plus they schedule shows to run 1 or 2 or 4 minutes into the next hour. That really irritates me.

I enjoyed this episode. There is obviously something dangerous going on with Caleb. He acts in a suspicious manner and he seems dangerous. I cannot determine if it is based on something he was involved in before his death or if he has changed in some bizarre way. When he told Jacob to lie, it could have pertained to the resurrection or it could have been to protect Jacob.
It was typical that when the parents were not around, the children played with Jacob without treating him differently. Video games are therapeutic.
I admire Bellamy for not caving in under the Sheriff’s insults. His expression when he opened Jacob’s casket makes me eager to see what he saw. No spoilers please…

I mean now that I've seen as much as I have, it wouldn't even matter that Kurtwood Smith was there. He's no longer the reason I'm still watching.

No spoilers please… I was surprised that the parents knew anything about Jacob. And I was amazed that they just finally left him on the field by himself. I'm glad they didn't tell us what was in that casket. Maybe we never have to know. I'm not really enjoying Caleb's storyline but I'm still interested in Jacob, as well as the story oif his aunt before she died. I thought there were going to be more people who had died.

I, too, thought they were going to show more people who died. Before this episode, the previews showed a woman saying "Did I die?" and I thought we were going to see her. I wonder if she is the person Jacob tried to save because I do not remember what she looked like in the water.

I was sort of hoping we would never learn what was in the casket.
I'm not enjoying this show nearly as much now. Even Red isn't helping.

I was sort of hoping we would never learn what was in the casket. I'm not enjoying this show nearly as much now. Even Red isn't helping. Help me out here... who is Red? I guess telling us Jacob was in the casket actually increases the mystery…who or what are the duplicates? Jacob can sense Caleb’s presence and I want to know how they are connected. I am vested in learning the story behind the mystery. The church members/board surprised me when they said neither Jacob nor his mother is welcome in the church. Where is their faith? If they had faith, they could stand against evil, if that was the basis for the returns. They are running on fear rather than faith. Once again, TV gives a negative image of church and religion. The bar scene where the Sheriff said to the bartender that he might hurt the man who compromised his wife was interesting. Did he know the man was sitting there and could hear him? Did the bartender know the culprit was sitting there? She looked nervous as soon as the Sheriff walked up to the bar. The coroner will probably report how the man was killed and I wonder if Bellamy will recall that he saw Caleb washing off a hammer. How in the world is the Pastor supposed to hide another returnee?

I thought the lady who was resurrected at the end of the previous episode might be the Sheriff's wife, but according to the description for this episode, she is a friend of the Pastor. The church members will not be supportive of her being in the church.

No, they won't. I was hoping the sheriff's wife would be the one coming back.
I found the episode very confusing because I thought the bank robbery was a flashback. Then it became obvious we were seeing what was happening now.

Me too. I thought the bank robbery was a flashback and wondered why there was a man inside the truck after they said there was no third man. That was confusing.
I am not happy at the thought of the Pastor dumping his wife for his resurrected girlfriend. That would not end well.
On some shows, the inability to sleep indicates the person has lost his soul, but I do not know what the voracious appetite would mean.
Either at the end of the episode or during the previews for the next episode, someone said there will be a lot more resurrections.

I feel sorry for the sister. First she was fired for helping with the robbery then her house gets ransacked.
That is weird that the girl was still pregnant after all these years.
And for you Kurtwood Smith fans, Mila and Ashton are reunited this week on "Two and a Half Men".

I feel sorry for the sister. First she was fired for helping with the robbery then her house gets ransacked. That is weird that the girl was still pregnant after all these years. And for you Kurtwood Smith fans, Mila and Ashton are reunited this week on "Two and a Half Men". I felt sorry for the lady also when she got fired because she did not know what her father was doing. And it seemed like she took on most of the responsibility for supporting the family at a young age. I do not really understand her friend's reason for not warning her about the investigation. She said she was trying to protect her or keep her from being upset, but being blindsided by the police was worse. That was a touching scene when Jacob's father finally let his grief come to the surface and he broke down while looking through the book of memories. I intended to mention last week that I was stunned that Jacob's father viewed his wife's acceptance of Jacob as a betrayal of their Jacob. She was so mad she moved out of the bedroom. I knew the Pastor was going to lie to his wife. Regardless of his intentions, he will look guilty of wrong conduct. How in the world is that lady still pregnant? I want to see the photo from the sonogram. It appeared that Bellamy had a young boy testify in a criminal case and it resulted in the boy being killed. I guess his conscience is bothering him for that. Caleb kept coughing when Bellamy was outside his cell so I am not sure if something was wrong with him or if he disappeared because he was going to give Bellamy information about the child who died. I am anxious to see what happens in the next episode.

Spoilers if you have not seen the episode.
This was an exciting episode and N.I.H. came up with a very interesting formula.
Arcadia is located 40 degrees N latitude Jacob awakened in China at 52 degrees N 52 - 40 = 12 Divide the 12 by the number of years missing and it equals .38
The .38 holds true for all of the returned and they should eventually be able to predict where people will pop up.
I was rather surprised that Jacob's parents even considered coming to Maryland so that he could be examined, but I do not think they will actually do that.
When Gary was still having a fit in the church about his cousin being killed, it amused me when one of the members pointed out that Gary's cousin was untrustworthy and probably as bad as Caleb.
I understand the Pastor's wife was hurt and jealous, but telling that church member everything was pure spite. That will not end well.
I wonder if the mysterious force will save Rachel before Gary does harm to her.

I've never seen people act that way in a church.
We had a dispute over whether to support an organization that accepted money from a gay-friendly church, but it was civil. We eventually decided not to support the organization. One of the members we were afraid we would lose if it didn't go his way is still there.
Rachel referred to a "hotel". That was a motel.

It's too bad this didn't air on the actual Day of Resurrection.
I don't want this to end. I hope we get some satisfactory explanation, but that seems unlikely and maybe we'll just have to hope for a second season.

I was looking forward to some supernatural force rescuing Rachael so I was a wee bit disappointed. I thought Gary kidnapped her just because she was a returned, but his primary objective was to get her to tell him where Caleb is.
If Jacob’s blood has antibodies that will cure leukemia, that is a good thing, but I do not want scientists to misuse him. I think Jacob could sense Rachael because he was twisting his hands in a manner similar to what she was doing.
I wondered if the returned could be seriously injured and now we know. One strange thing about the returned is that Jacob returned in a duplicate outfit, but Rachel returned in totally different clothing.
Jenny returned with her parents and I wonder if the reason is that they died together.
The town is being overrun with people now. I am really enjoying this, but if I lived in that town, I would head for the newest airport.

I noticed that black girl was dressed like girls did during segregation, but I didn't make that connection. I just thought she liked to wear dresses. I did notice that one man appeared to be dressed like men did years ago.
I hope the series comes back so we can learn more.
I had the chance to meet the author of the book this series was based on. Every hour at the library yesterday they announced he would be making a presentation at 7:00. But I wanted to go home. It would have been nice, but it's kind of a long drive and I'd have to pay for my supper and have less time to watch TV.
