He was more than amusing. He was brilliant! Good luck! You might feel differently now that you're running a site he may post on! Aeryn, next to you anyone else is a walk in the park.

I'm getting the distinct impression that you don't know Dislekseyuh as well as some of us do! I find that absolutely hilarious. I'm going to make it a point to find him now.

Yes, there's that. He once invited Susie to be in a porn movie he said he was making...she banned him for that post.

Let me guess. He offered her scale only, and not a starring role.

Great news, folks! I have found DavidHayes1956, one of our legendary old gods. Email address found and Twitter as well--messages sent and invitations offered. He's easily the most knowledgable poster about Superman I've ever seen, and his wit is sharp!

And the wit is probably much duller and needs sharpening. Thanks for the invite.

Woo-hoo! Welcome home, David! I love that title for your writing in the Creativity Corner: 'fanless fiction.'

I hoped the fan-less situation would have changed by now but ... no.

*has no idea who David is* Why does that not surprise me... you still don't know who I am. I know him from my lurking days.

Welcome to David, though I invited him myself as soon as I found this site and got no response. I got your message, Kyle-El, but I thought there was a follow-up message that this site was no longer available. I haven't been communicating too much lately since I found out that I had my 5th and 6th retinal detachments in late October -- one in each eye. I had an operation on my left eye November 7th and my right eye on December 20th. After each operation I was ordered to stay in bed 22 hours a day for 2 weeks. I still have gas bubble in both eyes that make reading difficult and getting around a little awkward. ..... Plus, I don't know if it is possible to recapture those early days of "Smallville" when the show seemed to have so much promise -- full of secrets that would never be revealed/explained. (Possibly because there was no explanation for them.) And early "Smallville" had a wonderful way of incorporating new music like nothing I had experienced before -- something that got lost along the way. Then there was the failure of the show to interact well with even its most devoted fans. I don't know if many people here choose to remember it or not, but the old sites had a tremendous amount of fighting on them ... something I naively thought would be absent in a forum revolving about a character that represented such high ideals. It was the best of times ... it was the worst of times. Hmmm. Maybe there's a book in that: "The Tale of Two Forums."

I did! I bet you are glad to be able to post to a place you know won't be deleted! I remember on the WB Boards when posts that weren't posted to were deleted after a while and you weren't supposed to bump posts (and could be banned for doing so). This was fine for chit chat, but the same rule applied to fan fiction. Fan Fiction was original work that, by the rules of the board, could belong to the WB if posted to the site. To delete them because no one commented on them was like throwing the last existing copies of books out of the library if no one had written a review of that book recently. Not having comments didn't mean they weren't being read. Many people didn't back up their work because they thought it would always be there. I know I lost some material I would love to have. We also lost our PMs. That's why it is hard to trust a forum that is not under your own control. Also, I have been on forums that didn't allow me to edit stories I posted. There was good and bad in the forum experience.

Oh yeah I remember saying "BUMP" in a thread would get so many banned so I always tried to make up a reason why the thread had been "BUMPED"
So much has happened since those days!

Eventually, fan fiction was not permitted. Unfortunately, fan fRiction was never gotten rid of.
My concern with this forum ... aren't forums like this prone to hacking? I had a forum like this for a while and it was totally wiped by hackers.

Us mods are on the careful lookout for any trolls and whatnot david and we are very careful on what gets posted here so you don't have to worry too much about hackers!

David, the owner of this forum (Mistermoonlight) is a friend to all of us and he knows what it was like (if you already knew this, it's just a reminder). I don't think I saw you at the end of the CW days, but if you had seen Moon and his fight against the spammers/trolls, then you would have been able to tell he shares all the passion we all have. As far as fanfiction and rpgs, trust me, those would always be allowed. I'm one of those admins that love to do rpgs and write fanfiction. I'm in the process of writing one now and as soon as I get my computer back (dad's computer does not have microsoft word) I'll put it up.

It was so cool that you came back to the Shipper-Free Smallville Forum to be with us the night of the show finale. That was a place we set up as a haven, away from all the shipper wars you're talking about. But in retrospect, some of those seem kinda funny now. When I first came to the WB in 2005, you were one of my heroes: an encyclopedic knowledge of Superman and some of the funniest posts I'd ever seen. Do I remember correctly that you once had a comic book store?

Glad to see you weren't Biebered very long! That's our initiation for new folks who don't pick an avatar. You get Justin Bieber. We derive a lot of sick fun from that. Your story of what happened to you would be perfect as a part of the 'Our Group History' thread in which we try to chart the entire course of our group from the very early WB days on. Do you mind if I move it there? I'm sorry you had to go through all that crazy crap. But no matter, you're back home now, and the world is as it ought to be.
