I have watched four episodes of this series since I was here last.
Knowing that the series finale had already aired, I figured that one would be easy to find and I was right.
I made the right decision, watching the episodes in the order that I did. That way no matter what happened to Charlie, I would know he was going to be all right.
I found the finale very confusing. But Alex was amazing the way she got out of her hospital bed and demanded to be with Charlie. I can't remember now which episode it was where the Indian doctor threw her out and later apologized, but I think it was ... yeah, it was the brain tumor.
Alex handled herself so well when it was announced where the organs were going. That was nice.
And the way it really ended was also nice.
I was confused about Charlotte. That WAS Charlie getting his knee looked at, right? So was that a flashback. Oh, now I get it. And then there was a scene with Luke all grown up.
I saw the season 4 finale listed among episodes available. I had looked at this thread to see which season 4 episodes I missed, and I knew there was at least one. So that was the one I chose next. Luckily, that one was twice as long as a normal episode. I had to conclude two episodes were put together. I was not lucky in that the reason it was there was that people's heads were cut off and people on one side or the other were out of the picture. I was confused when there were no credits, but it was obvious I had seen the start of another episode. By this time it was 11:30 and I had to eat lunch. Maggie fell apart giving her presentation after she tried to save the baby. The woman needed a liver transplant and was next on the list but didn't know she was pregnant. So sad. And Alex had a decision to make about which was more important when Charlie was treated. The other doctor didn't like leaving Charlie on the table waiting.
After I came back I was able to find the episode again and yes, I was seeing the first episode of season 5. Alex was determined to be there with Charlie and help as much as she could. But that was too much for the Indian doctor. Then they were both there for Alex and Maggie to be honored. Cassie looked hot but I like her better when she looks normal. And we saw a flashback of the man with the gun. And Charlie hasn't lost his ability.
Cassie made a valuable contribution in the next episode I hadn't seen. I went back to this thread and saw that episode 15 was available but I didn't see it on the day I found out, and by the time I had time it was gone. Now it's available again. The farmer predicted the weather based on cows' behavior. He (communicating the way only Charlie can respond to) pointed out Charlie's special skills and said Charlie shouldn't criticize him.
I also saw Alex break Dana out of the hospital and go on a road trip. I had already seen Dana when Alex and Maggie were honored so I knew she'd be all right. So when her doctor came in and said he had her test results, I figured it wasn't bad news. There was also the girl who was hiking and got bit by a spider.
I am so confused. The doctor who looked like Charlie died. So now there are two of them. One operated on the farmer and he and Charlie were both there when the wife found out he might have Alzheimer's. And there was another one who did something unethical.

It was ironic that Charlotte was obviously named after Charlie, I myself was to be named Charlotte after my own father who was John Charles but my mom insisted that I be Alysia.
This show really hit me in so many ways it felt like it was part of my own personal history.

This show really hit me in so many ways it felt like it was part of my own personal history. You may want to reread my above post. I submitted when my computer was being very temperamental because I was afraid I would lose it. I had to turn off the computer and, of course, when it's like that, it won't turn off. It has to be unplugged. When I plugged it back in and turned it on and came back to it, I was getting a message that it was 100 percent finished working on updates. Well, then why was it still working on them? It restarted again and then started at zero and I watched the number slowly climb. At 30, it restarted again. Finally it reached 100 percent and I was able to come back here after a few more minutes of waiting and waiting for each step in the process. My mother wanted me named something else but my father, who was a junior, wanted me named after him.

Okay, this Thursday it looks like I need to start with Episode 7 of Season 2, assuming it's there. There is a collection of episodes from each season through 4 but I haven't seen whether it is complete. I made a note on this thread that I had seen episodes 3 through 6. The first post on the thread says I watched 1 and 2.
I mentioned two doctors that look like Charlie. The one who wasn't involved with the surgery on the farmer was the one who saved the life of the girl who was bitten by the spider.

And there is yet another character, not a doctor, who looks like Charlie. His name is Luke.
Now when I see more than one of them in the same scene, it's obvious to me they don't look alike.
I saw four episodes yesterday but I don't know how long it will be before I see another one. I have to make sure I take advantage of the two weeks free from Hulu while I still can. In three weeks I plan to go to the beach. I obviously can't watch any "Nashville" episodes while they are free on that week, so I can't be at the beach during those two weeks. I don't want to take any chances at home even with my faster Internet. And there will be no time for "Saving Hope" the week I go to the beach. I'll have to do all my required activities when I get to the library.
When I went to the series finale, which is how I got to the other episodes I saw last week, I found episode 16 of Season 5. One wasn't the episode but told be to click and I couldn't get that to work. The other was a smiling pretty girl telling me this video was removed for violating the rules. I finally found a season 2 episode in the list. It was two episodes after the last season two episode I saw according to this thread. I backed up when I saw the previous episode listed, but after seeing the episode I selected. Sometimes it's better if I know what happened in the next episode.
Alex and Joel (one of the doctors who looks like Charlie--and didn't he die later?) were out in the middle of nowhere going to give a presentation. They stopped at a convenience store and a man robbed the place and shot the clerk in the leg. And ran over her husband when he stole the car Alex and Joel were in. Alex called 911 (yes, in another episode that's what they call it) and was told it would be 45 minutes. Was this the episode where she "MacGyvered" a solution? Now that that show is on the air, that means more than it would have if I had seen it way back then. Alex called again and calmly explained the situation and was criticized for yelling. She wasn't yelling. They almost lost the woman, and Joel warned Alex her solution to give the woman some of her blood could keep her from ever being a surgeon again. But everything eventually turned out okay, and Alex is still a great surgeon. And they even managed to make us laugh in that serious situation.
There was one episode where the Indian doctor provided the comic relief, which is something desperately needed in a show like this. A patient complained about his bedside manner. As he trained, he was so funny. He was absolutely not capable of explaining the situation without sounding like a professor in a medical school taking to students. The other man put his head down on the table. The doctor really tried and the patient complained again, directly to him. The doctor said he was trying. Later he played the piano. That was a big improvement over the music they usually play at the end of an episode.
There was another episode I saw a link to when I came back later in the day where Charlie had punched Joel and had to go to anger management. Alex was having heart problems, which made it more interesting when I saw the episode where Joel got punched. Dr. Bell told Alex she wasn't capable of being a cardiac surgeon and criticized what Alex did. But as they put a pacemaker in a patient, Alex was asked how her heart was. Alex was about to have a less serious version of the same problem. She hated the monitor and took it off. By the end of the episode, they almost lost her. I do remember Alex being the one who was near death and being seen by Charlie, and since this was the finale of season 2, it was a cliffhanger and it was resolved in Season 3, which I did see.
Charlie had lost his ability and had mixed feelings.
The one woman seemed to be in the early stages of Alzheimer's but Alex discovered it was an adrenal tumor. The woman thought it was 1985. I can't imagine after waking up from surgery she would have known it was 2017.
In one of the episodes, it was Maggie who saw the original tumor and it was determined the man who had terminal pancreatic cancer actually had treatable colon cancer. And his daughter was disappointed because she didn't want to deal with her father.
I don't remember a blackout. The fact that it had started tells me that I had seen the episode where it started. That means the second episode I saw must have been the next episode in order. And we were supposed to know who Luke was. All I know is that he was a paramedic and kept getting in the way.
Charlie's old friend Thomas was about to lose his leg. No one would have believe it could be saved. Dana (who had cancer in episodes I saw last week, but other than that I don't remember her) managed to save the leg with muscle from the other leg once Charlie and Maggie finished their job. Then Charlie finds out Thomas is not insured. That has never been a problem on this show. It's Canada. That's also something I thought of when I wondered if it actually was Canada. Charlie actually smelled smoke when Thomas started smoking and Charlie told him not to do that!
There was an episode where Dr. Bell was concerned about Charlie's odd behavior. Although he convinced them he was pretending the patient could hear. But he kept leaving. This was necessary because the girl, who was so ecstatic to be in this state and never wanted to leave, told him her friend was still out there, and she was. Oh, right, this was the blackout, because they couldn't see the girl. Maggie was pregnant. I didn't remember that. But no wonder. By the end of the episode she wasn't. So sad. This other doctor, who abandoned her when she needed him most, suggested she spent time in obstetrics. He was so confident he could deliver this problem baby without surgery, while Maggie couldn't believe it was possible. And he did it! And there were no problems, which is unusual for this show. At first. At this stage she is still learning, which seems strange. But there are doctors still learning in other recent episodes. Cassie is the one I remember the most.

Oh, yeah, Maggie and Joel (what is this, "Northern Exposure"?) almost saved a patient when they were stuck in the elevator. That must have been during the blackout. I was so hoping they would be able to do it.

I don't understand why Maggie was suspended during the blackout. It must have been for something she did in an episode I saw several years ago. And yet she was still treating a patient. They were in the elevator, after all, and Joel was the only other one there.
This show for me is like that patient in the elevator. The Ion affiliate is as close as help was on the other side of those doors. But those doors wouldn't open and I don't have an antenna that works. I did pick up the Ion station once when the weather was just right back in the days of analog TV.

I can't watch this show for a month. I saw enough evidence that "Nashville" aired its season finale. Whether Hulu already has it doesn't matter as long as they have it two weeks from now. So I took advantage of the two free weeks they wanted to give me. And this will work better on the Vent Thread. There is absolutely no time for another "Saving Hope" episode until after I get back from the beach. It took more time than I really had to watch "Nashville". I was behind schedule for the rest of the day and still didn't get to do everything I wanted, and I didn't get home until really late.

Looks like Amazon.com will have it available on DVD around October 24, 2017 for $28.00.
I haven't pre-ordered mine yet but I'll definitely do my best to do so.
Ironically in the Amazon.com page, it still lists the actor who played Joel on there.

I'm through with "Nashville" and I cancelled Hulu after two free weeks. I probably can't go to the beach next week, so I expect to be able to watch the two remaining season 4 episodes (assuming the Youtube police didn't get to them) and two more season 2 episodes.

I had time to watch three episodes. There was only one left from Season 4. I thought there were two. Cassie suspected a girl who fell had been abused, and the girl and her man had different stories. Alex wasn't going to let the man get away with anything.
I forget which episode had the man trapped in the wall, but we need as much comedy relief as possible.
Also, this one black doctor who says his patients don't move a lot had a big problem in the bedroom.
Luke was trying to talk a man out of jumping off a building. They both fell and Luke eventually died. Alex was not happy her surgery was not interrupted, but let's face it. Alex didn't need the distraction. As Luke was dying he and Charlie talked and he felt ready to go and said Alex would be better off without his causing her problems. I did not know Alex didn't know about Charlie's gift. I just assumed as soon as he woke up and was still seeing dead people, he told Alex. And Alex was not happy about Charlie's crazy talk.
Maggie is so good at research. This pregnant woman was going to lose one of her babies, and even worse, carry the dead baby until the one that survived was born. Until Maggie found a plan, saving the weaker baby would have put the stronger baby at risk. And the OB/GYN who did the procedure was watching the surgery. Alex said she would call on him if she needed his help, which she did. And when she said she'd call on him, she called him Superman!
There was also the transgender man. Did I get that right? He was a she but Alex was going to make him a he. And then she couldn't because of a tumor. Only it wasn't a tumor. It was left over from when he had his male parts removed.
And the woman who was about to turn 40 and believed she would die. Charlie was surprised she could walk. Then he realized. And the episode ended with something that never happens: a song that I liked!

Also, Joel's girlfriend was shocked when she met Alex, because she expected Trebek. And kept referring to her as Trebek.
I still can't tell Zack and Joel apart. Alex asked where Charlie was. With Joel (Where's Joel? With Charlie). But you're Joel. Apparently not.

reruns still do air on my TV. I think you mean Ion, which is not available on the cable service I have or over the air in Charlotte. Some other observations: Alex was naked! But it was just a dream. Oh, Charlie was there too. If I didn't already know this series was set in Canada, I saw CN Tower. And Maggie is pregnant, or at least the OB/GYN suspects. I like her hair better long, but the short look is cute.

Alex was naked again! I'm glad I saw Dana in recent episodes. Dana was so concerned about Alex getting everything right with her surgery. But eventually she and Alex just had to be friends and that was enjoyable.
I only had time for two episodes. I had something I had to do early in the day and then I was so late after being behind schedule all day that the second episode was all I had time for. And I didn't say this on the Vent Thread. The computer quit working and the clock went away. I was told I couldn't get my time extended because the computer I was on was available. So I had to hope it wouldn't cut me off again because getting on again is so complicated now. It didn't.
The ballerina had a hip replacement (I assume that's what that was) but the company knew they had problems with their device even before she got hers. And then it killed her. Joel had to quit as chief of surgery if he wanted to fight this and he recommended Dawn. I don't get the comment about FDA approval. That's Canada. How is the FDA relevant? Although it would be if the device was used in the United States.
The kid had a tumor and Alex was determined to get it out even though it seemed impossible. She finally managed to talk other doctors into agreeing. Maggie had to hold the thing, and then there were complications. Charlie disappeared so he could help one of his ghosts. The boy's father saw Alex and believed the worst. But no, Alex had to find Charlie.
And there was one scene in one pf the episodes where Alex seemed to believe Charlie and accept his "gift". Luke was able to move on.
The Indian doctor has Asperger's. Did we know that? It does explain a lot.

Two more episodes and I saw the Indian doctor on "Lethal Weapon". I think he was murdered during the investigation of the first murder.
Poor Alex was on a date with a man who was so desperate to be prepared he got his hand stuck in a condom machine. And then the man loses his fingers. I didn't see that part. I found out later the fingers had to be sewed back on. And he had another problem that meant if his fingers were sewed on at all, it would have to be now. AND he couldn't be given general anesthesia. He had to be awake for the whole thing. That was actually quite interesting.
Alex is so nice and so good at staying calm. But sometimes she can get angry. Like telling that cop to get out of her OR. I don't see how she made it through the night. She was going home and then had to do surgery on that weirdo who was asking her for help and then got hit by the car. But she seemed fresh and ready to go the next morning.
I really wanted them to save that man they had 43 minutes to save. What if Charlie had been able to hear him? He was with the psychiatrist explaining his "gift" but wouldn't go anywhere near where he could take advantage. And how would he have explained going into the OR? Maggie messed up and her experience reminded me a lot of Dr. Murphy on "The Good Doctor". Except in her case the man said he had a job to do and he was going to do it when he got around to it and could do it well. I wish Joel hadn't lied to the sick little boy. Now that was very different from the doctor who made a promise she couldn't keep on "The Good Doctor".
