Synopsis: In 2022, a cataclysm strikes Earth, seemingly wiping out the population save for former family man and bank employee Phil Miller. Sad and very lonely, Phil travels the United States, Canada and Mexico in his RV searching for other survivors. Striving to hold onto hope that there is at least one other living person out there, he tries to make the best of circumstances until his path finally crosses with that hoped-for other survivor -- and all the more comforting if that person happens to be a woman.

Some of my posts from elsewhere:
So here is an example of the humor. Phil and Carol are still married, even though Melissa has needs and only one man is currently available to meet them. Carol commented how if Phil had diarrhea she would certainly like to know about it, and if she had diarrhea she would tell him. Somehow in thinking about using that here, I thought it would be funnier.
Carol poured various canned products into a flowerpot. Trying to make sure Todd and Melissa were alone together, she made noises and said something like, "I vomited. Want to see?" They took her word for it. Phil showed up and Carol asked if he wanted soup.
I mentioned toilet humor. They added a new character, a cow. Phil wanted hamburgers but everyone else wanted milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc.
But since two episodes aired, there was also the one about the toilet pool. Phil had to give up and use the swimming pool. Carol was determined she wouldn't but no other solution could be found. Now she goes to hotels. But she needs to stuff her nostrils with dryer sheets, even indoors. Phil has to clean up that pool! He finally did, wearing a hazardous waste suit.
Oh, and this is new just to this thread.
After cleaning the pool, Phil was pooped.

A running theme on the humor, sort of like the short jokes on "Two Broke Girls"

There are more sex jokes here than toilet jokes.

And one reviewer who had good things to say after two episodes has revisited his opinion. It's now just garbage like everything else.
It's still innovative at times, but really, the show has become just like every other show on TV when it's possible to do so.
We now have six people. One older woman, played by Mary Steenburgen, and a black woman from Australia. Phil really messed up this time. And he did point out how the women were different. But that's not what made them really mad. He wanted to start over and didn't tell them there was anyone else.

The first few episodes really showed promise...but around the time that the fat guy showed up, it started to bore me. Phil...poor Phil. Funny Phil. I really think he could've carried the show by himself. Though I'll admit, Carol has some brilliantly funny moments. Although I was quite disturbed the first time they had sex. If you saw it, you'll know what I mean.

I thought Melissa looked familiar. Although I've never seen "Mad Men", she was on it.

This show has gotten kind of ridiculous.
The second Phil Miller is perfect in every way. They need him, but I don't blame the first Phil Miller for getting jealous. And he is once again a loser, even in this world.
Still, the show has done well compared to others.

And the season is over. Wow, things got really bad. Tandy is, of course, a jerk. But Phil shouldn't be treating him that way. Maybe Tandy and Carol will do better somewhere else.
If there is a season two. I'm hoping for it. Maybe they can erase all the things that went wrong.

I read today they didn't make sure they could get the actor who played Phil's brother because they weren't sure the show would come back. Sounds like it's coming back. And if Phil's brother is in space, that could make things complicated but interesting.

I forgot we had this thread.
They've given the series new life by having Phil lose Carol and have no way of contacting her.
And now they're back together. But the others have left Tucson. And we don't know what the reunion in Malibu will mean.
Very interesting.

I wish they hadn't rejoined the others. I can't stand the way they treat Tandy.
And Carol had a clever solution when she went back to talk to Tandy. She told them she had diarrhea. Also, she really had diarrhea.
But seriously, telling them Tandy had died and drawing all those pictures?

I wish Carol and Tandy would go back to being alone. I can't stand the way the others treat Tandy.

Good riddance! I couldn't stand Phil.
Now that gasoline is going bad, what are these people going to do?

Oops. Phil didn't go anywhere. But I was happy to see him in the stocks.
A baby will mean lots of philosophical questions. Yes, this is a bad world to bring a baby into. But if no one does, the world ends.

I was hoping Phil was really gone this time. I was surprised they ate the bull because how else is the cow going to have more calves? Patience, people.
I thought surely Tandy's brother would get through. Why else would they keep showing him? But Tandy and the others don't have any equipment. And they have no way of knowing. It was such a disappointment when he just heard himself.

I suppose this show is the reason we now have "You, Me and The Apocalypse". I'm curious how Rob Lowe, who I can't stand, can do this and "The Grinder" at the same time.

A reboot of sorts. Tandy's brother returned to Earth and found a friend. We did not see any of the other cast members. I enjoyed this change.
We also saw bodies for the first time, or rather sheets covering what appeared to be bodies.

Back to the original cast. I'm not sorry Phil died because I couldn't stand him. Like James Olson, he was too perfect. But at least James is likeable.
Now we know Phil had a middle name and why he wouldn't say what it was.
Tandy is no longer hated.

Something went wrong with the TiVo I use most. By the time the problem cleared up I had missed the beginning. However, by the time I found the show on the TV with an antenna I could hear from the other room that the TiVo had solved its problem on its own.
I'll watch tonight (and just in case, next week I'd better find the beginning online). At least the Fox shows didn't have exclamation points, unlike everything else.

I still need to find the beginning.
But it's unbelievable that Tandy is still holding a fight from years ago against his brother. Of course, once again the cool brother is taking all the attention away from Tandy. He does have reason to be upset.

Wow. Tandy's brother got the virus. And the others were so scared they put on space suits. And their cow fell over dead.
Mike moved back to his childhood home, and he insisted on dying alone. Tandy was reluctant to do that. However, they learned a lot about each other and their family. Tandy had to bury his parents.
And that drone Gail has been seeing. Now we know. There are other people on Earth, with space suits ... and guns.
Continued next season.

How lucky can they be? An office building where everything works.
That saw sweet how Tandy built that house. I wonder where he got the materials?

Gail was nice to finally "adopt" Carol so the baby could have a grandmother. Carol talked about Goldie Hawn like she was still alive, but of course no celebrities seem to be alive.
It was nice that Tandy took Lewis to Seattle. And that was sad when Tandy went back to Tucson. I didn't know what he'd find. There's no one to bury his brother if he's dead. I was kind of relieved. At least he found one of his balls.
I'm worried about Melissa.

Melissa has gone off the deep end. And the world needs her to actually get pregnant.
I hope they find Gail in time. Is there a call button in that elevator? They're not going to try turning her power back on because they don't know she's there.

How is poor Gail going to get out of that elevator? I thought they had found her and then Melissa showed up.
