I really enjoyed the episode. The crazy thing is I anticipated something was going to happen to Sam when he locked himself in the room, but I still screamed when the woman jumped him.
I wondered about Mike also. I wonder if his desire to keep the baby safe helped him to stay rational longer than the crew members. If so, Sam's desire to find a cure and get back to his brother might help him to remain rational.
If the angels in the cage are trying to send a warning about the Darkness, then Crowley needs to pay attention.
Poor Castiel...those angels looked as if they would enjoy hurting him.

Hello SPN fans, So, I thought the episode was ok, bordering on good, but there were a few things that seemed odd, however there were some really good things that happened too.
The bad, or odd- Crowley and the orgy was just kind of gross, and odd, I expect the King of Hell to be evil and menacing, not silly. But I agree with SoCal, I am glad that Crowley isn't dead and let's hope that Mark S. gets to shine as Crowley the rest of the season. He did seem a little worried about the happenings in the cage.
It was good to see the guys again, I have missed them and it was nice that they started right where the last one left off, I like it when that happens. Dean was back to his normal self, not the super angry Demon Dean, even though he was trying to work thru the problem at hand and was trying to save the baby and he and Sam were trying to work out the issues, I did notice that Dean wasn't mad at Sam. He wasn't happy about the Darkness but he wasn't mad at Sam, not like he has been in the past. I liked that he was willing to listen to Sam and let Sam do his thing, that is progress for Dean.
I felt bad for Sam, he was so desperate to fix what he thought he had done. He really wasn't the one that brought the Darkness but he sure had a lot of guilt about it. I wonder if that was why he basically sacrificed himself to save the infected people, was he so guilt ridden that he would allow himself to get hurt or killed to try and fix what had been done? I was glad to see him fight so hard for his voice and viewpoint, and stand up for himself, It will be interesting to see where his road takes him this season.
Cas knows he can't trust heaven and his angelic family, he has to be so desperate to call on his family in order not to hurt anyone. I felt when he prayed to his family he really didn't know what else to do. I also think that was why he wouldn't tell Dean where he was at and what was wrong with him. But I loved that he was worried more about Sam and Dean and called them to make sure they were ok, and to let them know what happened with Rowena.
I also think there are some possible interesting things that are shaping up for further down the line for the guys, the Cage, Amara,, what will happen to Sam, and to Cas, and what kind of bond does Dean and the Darkness have, and what will Crowley do to Rowena when he finds her.

Nov, I was constantly wondering why Sam keeps calling the Darkness his fault. Dean took on the MOC. And by not killing Sam, he loosed the Darkness. While I'm, of course, glad Dean didn't kill Sam, that's what released the Darkness. I don't get it. Am I missing something?

I think Sam's guilt goes back to his lying about destroying the Book of the Damned and giving the Book to Rowena, but I cannot remember if that played a part in releasing the Darkness. Perhaps his nagging Dean to get rid of the MoC is the real reason he feels guilty.

I dunno, Anti. It's still bothering me. I hope that as we get into the season, his reasons for feeling guilty will be fleshed out. In the meantime, both Dean and Sam need to change the way they're doing things! Like not telling each other the whole truth: Dean being bound with the Darkness and Sam being infected by the Darkness.

I have a different take on how the Darkness was released, and it might play into how Sam feels guilty, but overall he is not guilty as I see it. Back when we were introduced to the BOTD, we found out from Charlie and later Rowena that there MOC could be removed but it would be at a great price and we didn't know what that would be until the last episode when Death told about the Darkness and what would happen if the MOC was removed. To me the Darkness was released but not by Sam or Dean, but by Rowena, she is the one that did the spell and she had to know what would happen, or at least have a clue. Rowena and Crowley and even Cas are very old, and they should've had an idea that something would happen. It would have at least given Cas more to do last year instead of being the one that goes and buys snacks. Sam and Dean had something to do with it, and I think that is why they will ultimately both feel guilty about it, but I don't think they really knew what would happen. As far as Sam or Dean feeling guilty, well that is a part of them, Sam and Dean both feel guilty about so many things. They both need some counseling, and learn to let things go.

Okayyyyyyyyyyyyy. The Darkness will self-righteously correct the world...by erasing all light and the humans too.
