It took midway through the second episode before I realized the science fiction behind what was happening.
In the beginning, I thought Barbie was having a flashback to before he came to Chester's Mill. Then, I realized the job he did was his current life and wondered what the heck was going on. One of the characters did drop a huge clue that stuck in my mind and kept me wondering. Therefore, I gave them credit for dropping the hint for those who were paying attention.
I enjoyed it and will certainly continue to watch.

I agree the pods were creepy. I was surprised that the butterflies were being mean because they were friendly in the other seasons.
Did you finish reading the book?

That's fine. This season has absolutely nothing to do with what happened in the book and I think that is okay.

I'm so thoroughly confused I don't know what is going on.
I was disappointed they killed Julia but apparently she is not going to be dead as long as she's in the tunnels. She will probably be dead when they're on the outside a year later.
During the broadcast the blonde news anchor told us there would be a behind the scenes look on WBTV at 11. I did a search and found it but I'll have to figure out where I put it.
I was so glad Junior didn't set that house on fire. These must surely be historic houses.

“Redux” (July 2, 2015) – Chester’s Mill residents try to move on after their mysterious experience in the tunnels; Big Jim thinks two new residents, Christine and Eva, are keeping secrets about the dome.
During the first episode of the season, I thought they were outside the dome and wondered if the series would continue to be interesting. I enjoy the characters, but the mystery of the dome is what intrigues me and holds my interest. I actually enjoy the way Junior is acting, but it is disappointing that he is a pod person. So far, it seems Big Jim, Joe, Julia and the dog are still normal. The dog reminds me of the dog that followed Joe around in season one. Although Big Jim is still a terrible father to Junior, he has been right about the dangers. I was surprised he decided to leave and not show the video to anyone. He does not know who he can trust and the leaders of the group do not trust him. The way the episode ended makes me think there is something in the sky that is controlling everything. Oops!

No, because I'm trying to read as many newspapers as possible. I tape everything and save it to the weekend when I would watch movies anyway.

I haven't seen it yet but each episode begins with "Three weeks ago ..." Didn't someone say they were in the pods for three weeks?

he used to be cool but now he has become a you know what makes me don't like him much now. I think Barbie is under a lot of pressure and Julia is not handling the situation very well. As long as he does not let the new people touch him, he will return to normal. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using proboards

My interpretation so far is that Aktaion sent Christine and Eva, along with some other people, to get the egg, but things did not go as planned because something happened when Christine touched the egg. As KyleEl said, the intro says "3 weeks ago" and they were under the dome two weeks before the cocoons, so that would mean they were in the cocoons for one week and it seemed like a year. “Christine touched the egg, and all of the dome’s plans and intents were downloaded into her brain, which earned her the queen cocoon spot down in the caves.
Melanie is jealous Christine got the nicer digs because she touched the egg first 25 years ago. (Melanie, you were brought back from the dead. Can you not be so selfish?) But the two are working together to ensure the dome’s still mysterious plan is seen through to completion.
The dome wants the people of Chester’s Mill for something, but what exactly it is remains a mystery. We at least know why Melanie wanted them in the cocoons (Cocoons!), as Christine says Melanie’s job was to “Lead the people to be cocooned so the egg could infuse them with the life force.” What is something with as cheesy a name as “life force” and what is its purpose? The dome isn’t ready to share that just yet.”
The residue from the cocoons can still be used to reinforce the mind control and that is why Christine smeared some on Junior’s lips before seducing him. The people who enjoyed the changes to their lives in the cocoons are more easily manipulated – Junior, Norrie, Sam, Barbie, etc. Joe was not happy with the changes and that is why he is resistant to the mind control. Big Jim and Julia were never in the cocoons and remain unaffected. SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODEI wondered why Abby was important, and then it became clear her purpose was to encourage Sam to fall off of the wagon and start drinking again. That led to Sam blowing off the meeting with Joe. That was not part of Christine’s plan and will make Joe even more resistant. Love conquers mind control. Joe and Norrie are now back to normal and they are capable of making things difficult for Christine. Big Jim and Julia are also a formidable team.

I'm pretty sure they were saying 3 weeks ago even before the cocoons, but I could be wrong. communityvoices.post-gazette.com/arts-entertainment-living/tuned-in/item/39302-tv-q-a-ellen-moving-to-wtae-masterchef-and-pbs-self-censorship (last item) This show is getting on my nerves now. I stay around out of curiosity, but there's not much entertainment value. The same thing happened to "Revolution" and "The 100". It concerns me that they're tearing up City Hall, but interior sets can be anywhere. Given that they have a finite supply of everything, where is it all coming from? At least on "Gilligan's Island" they used the logic that there were always visitors. I do like Norrie these days and I've quit being bothered about who she's with. I just think she's pretty and she seems nicer too. Who is Abby? Why can't I remember details? And these goons who captured Big Jim--are they inside or outside?

Probably a lot of people feel the way the 80 year old expressed in the feedback.
I agree they were saying 3 weeks before the break, but they are still saying it so they must not have been in the cocoons very long.
I do not remember Abby from last season.
The goons are under the dome. Both Big Jim and Julia used a boat to cross the water to a nearby island and the goons must have been camped there.
