At least with the original WB boards, we got notice in advance. The darn CW crew did NOT do this.

The WB staff members told us several times about the merge to become to the CW ones, we also had options to save our usernames, mine was deemed too short so I added theCW in front of mine.

We lost a lot of the cool smileys from the WB when the CW came along, very sad because they were awesome!
I also loved the ranking system, CW never had that.

A lot of the users from the WB Boards signed up, but only hung around for a couple weeks before leaving. I couldn't use the username I had either.  Actually, I forget what my username was when the WB Boards closed. I want to say gghevn7, but I don't think that was it. I remember the day Susie posted on WB main board that the site was closing...and we needed to make accounts at the CW. I think we had a couple of weeks warning...UNLIKE the CW, who gave us ONE FREAKING DAY'S NOTICE.  I hadn't been online for awhile, so Moon told me about it. The first few months here were fun...but things started to get political, and a lot of people left. Mods are SUPPOSED to be impartial and fair...but Moon totally WASN'T. In fact, he was on a power trip. That's one of the reasons I deleted my account in 2012. He actually BELIEVED that it was okay for a mod to get a smart mouth with me...and I wasn't supposed to retaliate! Oh you poor fool, you REALLY didn't know me.  But I came back a short time later, after he called to explain things. I still thought he was a dick, but whatever.  |

You can't change your username on either the WB or CW board, or here either. Like those two sites, you have to register a whole new account. However, you do have the option of changing your display name. That option wasn't available on the WB or CW boards. You CAN change your username here. As many times as you want.  *coughDOOFUScough*  |

I know that I was notorious for my role playing games and we even had a Smallville prom of sorts and an online one-night stand, it was really wild. I was tad wilder on the WB boards but calmed down on the CW for awhile.  |
