For the first time since Madam Secretary lost the election, I didn't have to fast-forward through the other's show. It ended on time and I was able to watch.
The guilty person sure went to a lot of trouble just to steal some paintings.
I was thinking there had been more about Marcus having a girlfriend who was an attorney. I don't remember if this girl was the one, but this girl is not actually in a relationship with him. It was an interesting situation, and Sherlock handled it well.
I wonder if there's any truth to the idea that a group of people check to see if we are getting sent to the right addresses on the Internet.
And that's about all I can remember from the episode.
Oh, and this.
Poor Clyde lost his home temporarily for some dangerous evidence.
I remember someone asking "What kind of a name is Sherlock?" in another episode and I'd like to know that myself. His father doesn't seem the type for a name like that but his mother was.
I found out we have a bee supply store in my area. It even sells bees.

I typed comments and they disappeared because internet “connection was interrupted”.
Short version: I liked seeing the turtle walking around because he seemed so free.
I wonder what Sherlock was going to say during his video chat at the end of the episode. Would he break up with her because he does not feel the way he did with Moriarty?

I don't want to see Sherlock break up with his girlfriend. They did talk briefly about what she does and he talked like they never talk about that. Although he doesn't talk much about being a detective to her.

They talked a little but she was not interested in talking about what she does. That made it difficult to continue the discussion.

5.07 Bang Bang Shoot Chute 11-20-16
Holmes and Watson investigate after a BASE jumper is shot out of the sky and has his parachute sabotaged by two separate people; Joan's sister thinks she sees Shinwell with a member of his old gang.

My favorite lines in the episode were during a conversation between Sherlock and Joan discussing former military men who became contractors. “All we would have to do is look for four men trained to hide behind enemy lines, move without detection and kill without compunction. How hard could that be?”
I am glad Det. Bell is taking the lead in the investigations even though Sherlock and Joan are solving the cases.
I think Shinwell treated Joan harshly because he wants her to be safe from the gang members.

This time we started the episode with Clyde in the scene. And Watson's sister sure is pretty.
Another TV episode that makes me think of Nick Cannon.
Confessions on this show usually mean the person didn't do it.
When they left the interrogation room after talking to a woman there was a cop who looked like an evil robot. I realized they have to have a female cop take the person where she needs to go.
I agree Shinwell wants to keep Watson safe. Sherlock did point out she doesn't need to be responsible for him. The gang member didn't seem to want to cooperate when Watson doesn't have any official reason to require him to.

5.08 How the Sausage Is Made 11-27-16
Joan thinks Sherlock's sobriety is at risk when she discovers that he hasn't been attending recovery meetings; a man dies after eating poisoned sausage connected to a lab that is developing artificial meat.

It came on 20 minutes later than scheduled. No turtle this week and I was a little disappointed about that. I am glad Sherlock practiced more decorum than usual by leaving a note in Joan’s bedroom for her to dress properly before coming to the kitchen.
I admire the candid way Joan speaks to Sherlock about his sobriety and need to attend meetings. If anyone else called him arrogant, it would sound either angry or insulting, but not when Joan says it. I especially admire Sherlock’s candor when he shared at the meeting using the words Joan said to him.
The case was bizarre and I am not sure why the man in the initial case died.

I seem to recall Watson being startled when she woke up, which is something that usually happens in an episode.
I have to say it again. Every character on TV owns more different outfits to sleep in than just about any real person.
I thought what Sherlock said to Watson about attending meetings was really intelligently written. You almost think he is writing all that himself. And you have to admire how he said what he did at the meeting at the end of the episode.
Other than that I don't remember a thing about the episode.

Sherlock has annoyed Watson when he woke her up before, but nothing like this. I'm happy she was wearing shorts.
I thought I would have enough time to finish watching but it was getting so late that I realized I would be going to bed later than I wanted if I stayed with it to the end. I blame "Toycracker", a series of Target commercials that told a story. Otherwise, I wouldn't have seen a single commercial during "Frozen", as tempting as they were.
So now we know the truth about Shinwell and why he was so mean to Watson. If not for Sherlock and Watson, Whitlock would have sent him up the creek. I guess we should have known merely getting to talk to Whitlock wouldn't mean he would help. And now it turns out Whitlock did to the victim what he did to Shinwell.

Shrill screams awakened Joan. When she traced the sounds, she located a phone Sherlock used to send the sound. I bet he smirked when he planned that ruse. It is almost amusing that they incorporated what I hope is a myth that I have heard since childhood. After the shooting was reported, it took the police an hour to arrive on the scene. That was enough time for Shinwell’s’ gang members to be notified about the body and arrive before the police. When the police arrived, Shinwell threw his gun away because being caught with it would be a violation of his probation. The psychiatrist with the initials Z.X. is Mr. Kaplan on “The Blacklist”. I was surprised to see her, but “Blacklist” is already on break. Ricky, the murder victim, was having anxiety attacks because he felt guilty for working against his gang. Whitlock, the FBI agent, used both Ricky and Shinwell as unregistered informants. Whitlock refused to help Joan and Sherlock clear Shinwell and they had to solve the crime in less than three days. When Shinwell said he was going to make the best of his last day of freedom, I thought he was going to see his daughter, but he spent it repairing a leak for a neighbor. He is a conscientious man. Justice is blind and it is also flexible. Sherlock eliminated evidence that would tie Shinwell to the murder. I enjoyed the amusing conversation between Sherlock and Det. Bell. Bell aimed a couple of good zingers at Sherlock. Sherlock did not bother to react to them, but they were funny.

I hope I saw the rest of the episode. I think I remember Sherlock throwing out evidence, which should have been one of the last things that happened.
Sherlock did get on Bell's nerves, that's for sure.

Watson wonders what hobbies other people's roommates have. Shinwell should restore furniture. I liked Watson's first outfit, from before she was accused. I sort of suspected something about the drugs he was taking might be causing problems for the teenager. But I don't think I concluded that was the entire cause. When I decided I'd better go to bed before I ended up staying up later than when I wait up for Guy Lombardo, he was the prime suspect. Sherlock didn't have confidence in Shinwell, but it's Shinwell's choice. On the other hand, Sherlock DID clean that gun.

Sherlock's roommate who collected samples of animal urine tops the chart for weird hobbies that are maintained at home. I expected Shinwell to be either incarcerated or shot by the end of the episode. The DEA officer did not seem particularly interested in investigating the truth of Joan's claim of identity theft. Fortunately, Sherlock and Joan found the truth relatively easy to uncover. Since Joan has not written a prescription for ten years, I applaud Sherlock's defense of her and the reason he gave to the DEA officer. The officer did later try to make up for his uncaring attitude by sharing updated information. I cannot tell if you saw the finale scenes so I will put my comments in spoiler frame.
Munchausen syndrone by proxy gives me shivers. That boy suffered all his life and no one caught on. He was calm and convincing when he was interrogated and I think it is impressive he was caught. I understood why he killed his mother, but Joan made an excellent point on why he should have spared the doctor. Shinwell just shook his head when he saw he had an uninvited guest in his room when he returned home. Sherlock brought the chess table and he challenged Shinwell to a game. Sherlock told Shinwell since had turned down Joan's suggestion that he become an investigator, Shinwell should let them teach him to be a confidential informant, which included how to avoid detection and how to question people without them realizing they are being questioned. I really enjoyed that scene and I now have confidence there is a strong probability Shinwell will survive. And...Sherlock has made another friend.

This was a very serious episode. Sherlock's inquisitiveness led to him learning that a man was holding a woman captive. Sherlock had no actual proof, but the Captain respected his assessment of the situation. Sherlock felt responsible for the safety of the woman because his actions might have caused the man to kill the captive.
There was no humor in this one, not even the turtle.
Shinwell continued to pursue his goal of getting enough information to take down his gang. Joan was disappointed in his lack of progress on the tasks she assigned to him and Sherlock suggested she hold Shinwell accountable. Even when pushing him, Joan seemed extremely calm, but it worked.
I was happy with the results of the investigation because I did not want Sherlock to suffer from guilt.

Shinwell seems to know what he is doing and I was pleased he finally pushed himself to do what they were teaching him. I don't know that telling him to pick the lock just to get into Sherlock's place is a good idea. Doesn't doing that eventually mess up the lock?
The girl being held captive looked a lot like Watson. At first I actually thought that was her. Then I realized she had a sister but that wasn't her.
