Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One

The Monitor sends Harbinger to gather the worlds' greatest heroes -- Supergirl, The Flash, Green Arrow, Batwoman, White Canary, The Atom and Superman -- in preparation for the impending Crisis; Lena must find a way to save the people of Earth-38. I didn't even know who some of those people were. I have a hard time believing billions were saved but billions died too? At least Lena put her hate on hold to do good. Wow, all those people could have disappeared. They packed a lot of stuff into the episode and I enjoyed it. There were also scenes and lines that made me laugh although it was a serious episode. We know the Pit is bad mojo. Constantine needs to conjure some magic from somewhere because a soulless super hero would be super dangerous. Supergirl was struggling with her loss and her positive attitude departed. Kate helped her to deal with it. I know Batman was the Dark Knight, but I never saw him turn as dark as the one they talked to. That was especially sad for Kate to see. I liked the Supermen scenes and the fight did not do too much damage. Tom's Superman was cool and he did not let Lex rile him. I like the way that scene ended. The funniest scene was when Monitor was speaking eloquently and the baby's crying interrupted him repeatedly. Mick was funny. He was reading his sexy book to the baby to keep him quiet. I was glad to see Tom but wouldn't have recognized him. Erica too. Two roles in the same event. I especially liked that Lex couldn't kill him. And that he didn't recognize a Lex who wasn't Rosenbaum. I was disappointed Kevin from "This Is Us" didn't show up as another Oliver. I saw nothing to make me watch more of Kate and I especially hated Batman. Supergirl handled her loss well. Maybe she lost hope but she didn't waste time when it first happened. I didn't understand the significance of Clark the newspaper editor. Only when he and that other guy who looked like him were together did I get it. And Supergirl was so cute falling for the other Superman. |
