A car phone was a phone you plugged into a car's cigarette lighter section and you used it like a regular landline phone.

They are called cell phone and the cigarette lighter in the car was for the charger.

Awful, I barely sleep now. Most of the time it's so might the slightest noise and I'm awake. I miss my deep sleep.
