Hi!!
I like "The Unicorn". It's a sweet show, but funny. "Evil" is good, but I save it to watch on weekends, during the day!! I watch most of my telly on Netflix, mostly British mystery series.
I want to see Renee Zellweger in Judy. I'll wait until it comes out on streaming, or even video. I just can't drag my lazy self to a theater.
Need to bring in some furniture today. We bought a rattan set in spring and I don't want it wintering outside. I brought in a couple of plants to get them through the winter.
Hope all is well and healthy with everyone.

Hi, Tanmi. No, I don't watch shows like that. Maze, I have a library story that might interest you. I told the woman at one of the two-year colleges I thought I would be back on Halloween, until I realized that one pair of shoes I had was darker than I had remembered, and I believed those shoes were a different color from the ones I saw in the store. I wanted to wear orange shoes on Halloween. My intention was to avoid the night the kids come to the library in the county where I live. Fortunately, I said at the other two-year college I would not be there on Thursday because of the kids downtown. I was told that was yesterday. So I didn't go back downtown. I can do whatever I want on Halloween. I didn't wear the shoes I needed to compare with the ones in the store because it had just rained and I didn't want to mess up brand new shoes. So I put a shoe in the car and it turned out they were a different color. So I ordered that color. I told the woman at the first two-year college some of this. Usually when I leave I ask her or whoever is there if the library will be open the next time I come there. So she asks how many pairs of shoes I have. I can't possibly give an exact number, but here is my attempt. These are regular Converse Chuck Taylors only. No dress shoes, but I rarely wear those. There are also two other pairs of Converse shoes each made of a different material than the usual style that I bought several months ago to wear in the rain or when mowing wet grass. Gray: 2 pairs Brown: 7 pairs Yellow: 5 pairs including two pairs I can't find Orange: 5 pairs Green: 16 pairs Blue: 12 pairs Purple: 8 or 9 pairs depending on how you classify Sapphir Red but not pink: 7 or 8 pairs depending on how you classify Sapphir Pink: 5 counting the ones I ordered but I don't know if they arrived White: 4 (at least) not counting those without mates because those were thrown out and for all of these I wore to mow wet grass, so they don't look white This doesn't count the numerous shoes on the back porch for wearing to walk for exercise or do yard work because they're so old and beat up. Many of those I can't even identify by their original color. Wow Sir! That's a whole lotta Chucks!

Miss Tanmi Hello Friend! I was visiting my Mom two weeks ago and we saw "Judy". It was fantastic—and I'm willing to bet that Renee Zellweger wins an Oscar. The movie itself was excellent. It could have been tawdry and exploitive since it dealt with the last year of Judy Garland's life, but they handled it like a flashback biography of her WHOLE life. Loved it!

I need to get around to getting our deck all prepped for winter too. The snow snuck up on us, but the weather has been a bit warmer and no more snow yet, so I better get moving. Emily's first cheer competition of the season is the 16th of this month, I can't believe how quickly it's come back around! For her birthday this year, she wants to spend the day with her friend at the mall buying new clothes, so that will be a fun day for me.

I got the deck all ready for winter and we did our first round of leaves, which yielded about 15 bags of leaves. That is about half of what we'll have to do; walnut trees are no joke.

Does anyone remember Scout Taylor-Compton from "Gilmore Girls"? I recognized the name when I watched a movie over the weekend. All I remember about her is that she posted on the WB boards along with us.

Out of the blue yesterday, Emily told me (and her dad) that she told the boy she likes that she likes him. I was shocked and very proud that she had the guts to do it. I wouldn't have at her age. Unfortunately, he doesn't like her back and now things are going to be weird because he does like her as a friend and I think he was kind of upset she had to bring it up. haha I wish she'd told me beforehand just so I could have given her the advice of "what is the point in telling him? Will it ruin your friendship to tell him?" I hope it doesn't ruin their friendship.
Kevin was a little upset that I told her I was proud of her, he said I was encouraging her to "date boys." She turns 16 in December and that is when she is allowed to go on dates. He is definitely not ready for her to grow up. I'm not either, but I think I'm going to handle it a little better than he is.

It sounds like you have pretty smart, aware children Merr, and I suspect that whomever this boy is will treat her with kindness and respect—even after her "confession". He'll probably forget about it (like most boys that age). Boys. (roll eyes)

She didn't want it weighing on her anymore so she decided to tell him to get it off her chest, whether anything came of it or not. I'm even more proud of her.

Hello all.
We ended up with about nine inches of snow, so the deck will be snow-covered for a while. It's not cool, at all!!! I have so much that needed to be done, yet.
Merr, I just love the story you told. I could visualize it so well. How many times in my life have I decided to get things off-my-chest. Too many to count, I'm sure.
I'm hanging out doing laundry and such. It's got to be done. Alexander (our cat) is keeping me company. Marc has been winterizing vehicles. The early snow caught us all off-guard.
Thanksgiving plans? We have a couple of friends coming over. I'm looking forward to it.

It will be almost 70 degrees tomorrow and I just got a whole bunch of cute sweaters from Stitch Fix that I'm dying to wear, but its not cold enough! Your Thanksgiving sounds great. Ours is going to be ridiculous and no one is really looking forward to it but with friends (our friends family) in town from Germany, everyone wants to be there to say hello. I thought I'd mentioned our Thanksgiving...we are having it at our friend's cabin that is next to ours. They have family coming in to town from Germany. So their entire family is coming so everyone can visit. We know all their family, but aren't super close with anyone but them. All in all, there are going to be about 50 people there. Luckily, once dinner is over we can head back to our cabin and hide from the craziness.

So I'd like to hear your opinions—I took an UBER ride home from the airport on Sunday night and the driver's "flat tire" light comes on as we're driving down the expressway. We stopped about a mile from my final destination and he filled his tire with air and proceeded to take me home. Total additional time for the tire-air stop was 20 minutes tops. Driver was very polite and apologetic—but I requested a full-refund from UBER when I got home and it was approved. I made a point to mention the driver's courtesy but I did say it was an "inconvenience". Am I whining? Or was this a legitimate request for a refund?

I think its legitimate; the drivers need to make sure their car is in good working order. If it hadn't inconvenienced me though, I personally probably wouldn't have bothered asking for a refund, but Kevin 100% would have. I wouldn't have bothered mostly out of laziness.

I probably wouldn't have, because it wasn't too much time out of the schedule. If I were trying to catch a plane, I would probably think differently!! You were within your rights to ask for a refund.
