I first played a Whitney Houston song on the radio in 1984. It was 'You Give Good Love.'
Over the next decade she would put together an unbelievable string of hits. She was the only person to have 7 consecutive #1 hit singles on the charts.

I first played a Whitney Houston song on the radio in 1984. It was 'You Give Good Love.' .... I remember first seeing that video. When she sang, the skin folded up over her nose and I loved how that looked. It was love at first sight. She must have noticed what happened over her noes and she never let herself be caught on camera like that again. I've been tortured by her struggles and am (selfishly) very sad that it's over for her. |

I went to bed early last night so I didn't know about this sad news until this morning when I read about it at another forum. I have been a country music fan all of my life, but I do know a good deal of Whitney's songs well enough, so I guess that my most favorite song from her is "How Will I Know If He Really Loves Me?"

She was an incredible actress and you can see some of her incredible talent in the movie "The Bodyguard" and that's where she performed that amazing rendition of "I will always love you", she will truly be missed.

I wasn't that big a fan.
Her singing style annoyed me, though her special "qualities" made "Saving All My Love for You" sound so good. My favorite radio station played that during the all-request portion of the morning show today.

She was so "wholesome" in the 1980s... she had this image of clean living, bright colors and happy, poppy songs. It's a tragedy for her children, her family and her fans.  I remember "How Will I Know" because in the video she was dancing around in a maze.  |
