Why am I being plagued by pests? First that noisy squirrel made a home in my attic and would wake me up in the middle of the night and early morning. Four months of aggravation. Afraid it would have babies and have other pests so I paid $375 to pest control to capture and relocate. No squirrels were harmed during that capture.

Then three days ago, my porch had at least 100 black flies swarming around. Never discovered what attracted them, but I purchased all sorts of traps for them. Flies were harmed during this operation.

Now, bumble bees are floating around the back and front of the property. I don't know which bees sting and which ones don't.

I feel like I am being cursed and I am frustrated about these pests!.

I hate the way you treated Michael! He was an awesome husband and now you treat your daughter like crap? Shame on you! Your own mother has to take care of poor Jazzy when she comes to visit you and another thing you should be more careful with Jazzy's health, you know she has a certain condition since babyhood and yet you refuse to acknowledge it, I mean I am not visiting that often but I do know one thing and that's Jazzy will eventually turn her back on you and I don't feel the least bit sorry for you!

A few years back I had squirrels in my attic. They were making a lot of noise and I heard stuff falling. There's no easy way to get up there. There's a square opening in a closet which is covered by a piece of wood and I don't dare open it. It hasn't been opened since my father moved out 13 years ago. Unless he opened it on one of his visits after that. Even then, it hasn't been done since the squirrels.

The pest control company said the one thing they could do is charge me something like $50 to watch the squirrels going in and out. When I found someone who could repair the opening if it was found, I decided to take her up and on that, and have her communicate with him. He charged me $25 an hour for the repair and then I found out that his time included time in the store! I was mad about that and was reluctant to hire him for any more repairs, but then my neighbor recently repaired a door that was broken which let his cats get in my basement, plus another opening, and he didn't charge me. After two years of forgetting to ask the other man and then not being able to agree on a time for him to come, I dodged that bullet.

As for the squirrels, one ended up stuck in the attic after the repair. I don't know whether it ever got out but I could see it struggling where there was an opening too small to use.

I had my own annoying situation due to squirrels this morning. Outside my front door there is a telephone pole, and typically squirrels will climb the trees in my yard or even neighbors' yards and every once in awhile we'll find them running back and forth on the telephone pole wires. Well this morning I was posting in the forum, not this thread though I think I had just finished updating most of my posts in the main forum when the lamp by my front door goes out, I think at first that the light bulb has blown out, I then notice that all of the power is out and the only reason my computer is still is on is due to a battery backup charger I have for these types of situations! I then call the electric company to let them know of the situation on my cellphone since the house phone isn't working. I am walking from my house towards the bus stop since I have errands I had to take care of and I see the dead body of a squirrel right beside the telephone pole and I make the comment "Well that explains why the power is out" I was gone for almost an hour and the power was finally restored by the time I got back home and the dead squirrel's body was removed at least I think it is, I didn't really check!

The ironic thing to me is that my dad used have pet squirrels when he was a teenager and it was because the mother squirrel built her nest on top of the family's chimney and the nest crashed down the chimney and the baby squirrels landed in the fireplace and my dad, his brothers and his parents found the mess downstairs also they could hear the mama squirrel fussing like crazy outside the house. Also they named the two squirrels "Tom" and "Jerry" My dad and his family raised the squirrels for many years and they caused no problems but I am told from what my dad used to tell me that one died due the back legs breaking and they hated to see the poor creature so they had to kill it to put it out of it's misery, not sure about the other one though! I have a picture of my dad with one of them on his shoulder which proves my story is true! I'll see if I can find it up and post it so you can see it for yourselves

I was at the college library this morning and one of the students who works there changed insurance companies. I won't say what his new company is but the spokesperson has the same name as Alice's best friend. There was some delay that caused him to be without insurance for one day and someone found out and took his license plate away for not having insurance on his car. Now he has to go to court because he got a ticket for being without insurance. He says his court date won't keep him from going to class, but if that had not been the case he wouldn't bother.

She clogged up the upstairs toilet earlier today and because we threw out the 2 plungers that we had (they were super old) i ended up having to go buy a new one.

You know, I've done a lot more than a fair share lately... like for more than a month now!? Okay, so today I think that after I helped my grandmother out, I could at least have one day of a break (or a half-day, at least) because I've done the dishes every single time they needed to be done as well as a bunch of other stuff and lately, all I've been getting is criticism... again. No one has been doing anything lately. Dad's back to doing only a tiny little chore and saying how he is too tired, when I could do that same chore, and a bunch of others and still would not complain.

I feel like Cinderella... again.

I am sorry to hear that.
I have had some severe headaches last week. I was trying melatonin as a sleep aid and it did not agree with me.

OMG! My mom's boss is really pissing me off! She just transferred my mom to the school where she is now and now she's threatening to send her to another school? She needs to stop this! My mom and I don't need this freaking stress!

The city I live in is in a fight with a group of people living in tents on some unused, out of the way public land. They call themselves "Tent City." The man who runs it maintains a no drug/drinking policy and a strict disciple for behavior and the site looks a heck of a lot better now that it is occupied than when it was left to get overgrown. The city has been making every legal effort to have them removed and the head of Tent City is making every legal effort to stay. Tonight, a woman that rented an unheated trailer through the winter and moved a 21 year old homeless woman in with her got evicted after she fixed up the trailer because the owner decided it was now nice enough to sell and found a buyer. She is headed back to Tent City. The city is so intent on getting rid of these people, why don't they provide an alternative? Do you think people like living in tents in the winter without electricity or plumbing? It's an affluent community with a private college that gets all kinds of tax breaks and rich people that donate libraries and skating rinks and swimming pools and college buildings. There are vacant buildings already adapted to house people -- set up as prison halfway houses ... which the city also no longer supports. I sympathize because anytime I try to provide shelter for the homeless I get put in uncomfortable situations and get ripped off. But a community should be able to do better!

Last night a man living in the Cleveland, Ohio area located his wife and daughters at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. His wife had said she planned to leave him. So he shot his family. His oldest daughter (age 11) is in critical condition now. WHY!? Neighbors say that the wife and daughters were really friendly sweet people. Why kill your children? At worst, you could walk away. My step-son, not a blood relation to me at all, was always quick to make it clear that I wasn't his Father. He destroyed my property and stole thousands of dollars from me while I was supporting him. He kept me awake nights with his drunken behavior. Yet I never once wished that he would suffer in any way. At times, I would be glad if he was out of my life but I would hope he would be elsewhere, healthy and happy and learning to be a better human being. What did these little girls do in their lives to be hunted down -- chased into a ladies bathroom and shot. What is wrong with some people?!
