I saw the wildest thing today. I think I saw the device that will replace curl irons. Do you think I'm right. I'm a licensed stylist and I was in a beauty supply that only sells to license stylists. The ladies had this thing out and were using it. It's called the Babyliss Pro Miracurl. It's be described as a curling machine not a curling iron. There did not seem to be any need to twist the wrist at all. Seems like something worth trying.

What with the end of perms, if I want to change up my sadly uninspiring straight hair, I'm sort of out of luck. It will be available in June. I have seen the device in person it's expensive as all get out. But that's because it's a professional tool and not that Revlon crap you see in the regular stores that lasts 6 months then is broken. Babyliss products are built to stand up to all day use 5 days a week. As a Licensed stylist it's $150 for me. So normally double that for the general public $299. For the public I have seen it as low as $239 on Amazon. This is why I kept up my license even through I don't do hair for a living anymore.

Hello everyone I am celebrating because the ONLY show still on the DVR is SUPERNATURAL. It feels so good to have caught up with all of the shows and now I can randomly choose movies and shows to watch. What are you watching this summer?

Maybe "Burn Notice." It got a little old last year. But I hear that this is the last season. Definately "Falling Skies." I love sci-fi. They've been running the first two season over the last 2 weekends and it returns June 9. "Under The Dome." Although I am not a big Stephan King fan anymore, the story has me intrigued. Not sure about "White Collar." I'm sure I'm missing something.......update, please... Edit: I see AMC has decided to revive "The Killing." A 2-hour premiere is this Sunday @ 8pm. I will probably watch, but I think the last story was stretched over 2 seasons for NO GOOD REASON. I hope they've learned their lesson and will finish this storyline in a single season.

I don't really watch new shows, because I get into it and then they get canceled like Breakout Kings on A&E after 2 seasons. I will watch Longmire and once Major Crimes starts back up I will watch it, though it isn't as good as the Closer was. I will admit that on Sat. mornings on AMC channel, that I have started watching Cowboy Saturdays , I was too young for some of those shows and now I like them.

When I was growing up, I loved to watch those cowboys. I enjoy the modern westerns also. November, I know it is disappointing when they cancel shows you like. I became interested in "Touch" with Kiefer Sutherland because of the plot. There were elements in it during the first three weeks that annoyed both my daughter and me. But we stuck it out for two seasons...and now it is cancelled. The only reason I can watch all of these shows is because I DVR them. I have no trips planned for this summer and it seems strange. I was always the one who took care of arrangements for our annual vacations. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I can relax and do nothing. Finally! Feels good.

One of my friends is the head of VFX on Under the Dome. So of course I'm going to watch that one! Sadly, he was able to resist my very best Defcon 4 Puppy Eyes, and only would offer the spoiler: "people die." LOL I ran across the little "MeTV" channel (I don't have cable, just over-the-air digital antenna), it carries all sorts of old classic tv. So I am rediscovering Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Combat, Route 66, Dragnet, Emergency, Adam-12. Good stuff!

Hi Ani, I have started watching Rawhide and the Rifleman, and one of my all time fave movies is Rio Bravo, I can almost beat them to their lines. I loved Emergency when it was on.

I hope I can get at least a little sleep tonight! About 8 hours from now, I'll be on my way to the airport, about to begin a week of adventure in Vancouver! And I still have at least four more pilot/series pitches to layout before Thursday. And two I haven't even seen any copy for yet. One is out as an initial draft to the production team in the UK who's partnering with Frostbite, and one is frantically being re-written for a Big Meeting in LA. 11 pilot/series pitches, anywhere from 2-10 pages each (some with a pocket folder for the sheets to go in), and needing pickup from the printer on Friday. It has been an INSANE two weeks, designapalooza! Needless to say, my laptop won't be getting a rest in Vancouver, I'll be pushing to get everything done all the way down to the wire, I think. FUN TIMES!!! LOL I'm going to the Leo Awards! Two outfits packed - one for if the evening is colder, one if warmer. I hope I can represent my friends and everyone here well, don't look like the guys found a homeless person on the street and invited her to the awards gala ceremony. Dinners and drinks with all the teams I've been working with: the Last Fall gang, the Aeternus peeps, and of course my most fav homies: Ivan, Jason and Kirk. Staying with a couple of the best gals in the world - fellow SPN fans! - and we're going to have a great time together. May even help one of the SPN VFX Lab dudes move into his new apartment...I think there's five of us now: my friends, another SPN tweep, VFX Labdude Adam. I'm going to see if I can scare up some more helping hands, preferably someone with a big truck.

Ani, I am trying very hard to not be jealous!!!
Congratulations on having all of these adventures. It's wonderful. Please let us know what it is like to be at the Leo Awards.
Are you going to act like a fan girl and snap pictures?
...or be cool as if you do that all of the time?

What an amazing week! What a fantastic experience! I thought I had an extra day in VanCity, thought I had booked my flight to leave in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, not TUESDAY morning. So the extra day I was anticipating isn't there, and sadly I have to depart this beautiful city a day too soon. A week too soon! I absolutely love it here. I wasn't able to meet up with all the people I wanted to see this time around. So next time I will try to plan better! I couldn't see my buddy Reece, the SFX makeup guy, or Werner, one of the SPN VFX Lab rats. There was just SO much to do going on, it was surprising I was able to see and hang out with as many people as I did. I'll come back to post more of the experience, share it with everyone. But right now I need to go to bed so I can get up in 3.5 hrs to get ready and drive out to YVR....my flight leaves at 6:40am and the customs people like to see my bright and shining face 2 hrs before that. LOL! Lots to tell! But for now: zzzzzz

Hello everyone , I am just checking in to let everyone know I am still around I haven't been doing much besides work and I have found a few shows to pass the time, they are ok. One on Nat Geo called life below zero, it is interesting and I find it hard to believe that anyone would want to live in those kind of temps all the time. It follows several people who live in Alaska, they all live in different parts of the state and it shows their struggles of living that way. But to each their own and if that is what they want to do, that's great.

So I read somewhere that Jensen and Danneel's baby girl was born on May 30th. And they named her "Justice."
JUSTICE?? What a silly name for a girl.

It is a little silly for a girl, but to each their own.
I haven't been around much the last week or so, I haven't felt good, and it is kind of quiet here also.
I did hear where S9 will have 23 episodes.

Hello everyone. I am sure people and the conferences will be asking why the baby was named "Justice". November, I hope you are feeling better now. I have been catching up on a lot of tasks at home, and I have nearly finished. At least, I am at a point where I can relax and finish. Will be talking with you soon.

Maybe later on Friday.... Hope you and everyone on the boards are well. Willl have to remember to watch (record?) "Under the Dome." I think it starts this weekend. Been a little disappointed with the first couple of episodes of "Falling Skies."

SoCal, aching knees sound like a show stopper. I would say sit down and prop your legs up, but that might make them hurt worse. Darn!
Nothing exciting going on in my life. I need to plan a day trip before I become too comfortable sitting at home.
In spite of aches, I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.

Anti, it's mostly the left knee. I find it hurts when I climb the stairs at home or take any step up leading with the left leg. I try to remember to take one Advil a day to help, but I'm taking so many other pills that I usually forget. Just one more reason to resent growing older. Golden years...peh. More like the tarnished years. And I'm not even out of my 50's yet!

Hello everyone, I am still around just don't post much right now. It has been a rough week at work and I am so very tired, and when you get older it takes a lot longer to get over stuff like that. But it beats the alternative and I am thankful for every day that I wake up and can get out of bed. Hope everyone else is doing ok

I'm not posting as much as I used to. Many times I'll stop by and read a few posts but don't feel energetic enough or quick-witted enough to engage another poster. Sorry to hear you've had a tough work week. I keep telling myself that no matter how busy the day, it will end and I will get to go home. They haven't yet managed to find a way to keep me there overnight! I find that I am more tired these days and nap a lot after work and especially on the weekends. Not doing too much outside of my home but am finding real pleasure in fixing up the backyard and enjoying the birds, butterflies and the herb garden. Even my grapevine is producing fruit! Take care and be well.

Hello November and SoCal I hope the pace on your jobs slows down until you are feeling more energetic. I have been watching shows I did not have time to watch during the fall season. I like to watch episodes back to back so that adds to the experience. Posting about those keeps me plugged in. I have been cooped up indoors because of the heat so yesterday I went to the movies just to get out of the house. Nothing I wanted to see was playing at my preferred theater, so I saw R.I.P.D. It was a cute movie, but I would not make a special trip to see it. As long as we check in once in awhile, we won't lose each other. See ya next time. And a hearty hello to everyone else who stops by.

I've missed most of "Burn Notice," but since this is the last season, I'm not worrying too much about it. I "burned" out on that show last season which I never finished watching. Some shows just run out of story steam.
I'm trying to catch up on the movies I 've missed by getting some from Netflix. Tonight Imay watch "The Avengers."

Hello During the heatwave, I did very little of anything and I refused to let myself feel guilty about it. November and SoCal, I sympathize with you having to cover for someone else or having extremely busy periods of time. It can be exhausting. I can remember being exhausted when I got home from work, but no one seemed to understand why. November, Under The Dome is our current discussion topic. If you are watching it, it would be fun to insert some of your thoughts. There are no wrong guesses.

I don't know if I will even be able to see the next UTD episode since Time Warner Calbe and CBS are in a pissing contest over fees....TWC has put the local CBS stations off the air. Don't know how long it will last, but so far it's been over 24 hours. I think the argument is over who gets richer faster. A--holes.

SoCal, that really sucks! When I read your post, I rushed to turn the TV on to make sure they did not do that to us.
In the past, we have gotten a heads up from the providers about stuff like that, but we were fortunate to not lose any channels.
