I have done that before too. This year I just didn't, had too much on my mind.

I'm sure I'll feel silly when someone mentions the TV show, but right now nothing is coming to mind.

"Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" will be one of the shows I watch. Unfortunately. But Lauren Graham had better be a major part of it and she'd better be good.

Haven't watched it yet.
Library story!
It's only library related because I was going to the two-year college to go to the library.
I saw blue lights and assumed someone was in trouble. Then I saw the car marked as a training vehicle. This particular college has an entire building (an old elementary school in another part of town) devoted to training cops, though they use the parking lot for training.
So I wasn't too worried when I left and saw cops who appeared to be arresting people. One cop had pushed a suspect down onto the car.

I went to New York for the first time last week! My sister and I went for a Jeremy Jordan cabaret performance (he was in Broadway's Newsies). We were also able to get 3 shows in while we were there. We saw Mean Girls, which was a whole lot of fun. Beetlejuice was my absolute favorite. And West Side Story, which I remember seeing as a kid on VHS, but didn't really remember all that happened. It was a somewhat updated version of it and it was ok. No snapping. My sister was a little disappointed because she loved the one we watched growing up as kids. We walked 30 miles while we were there and saw the oldest house in Manhattan built in 1765 and then walked through Harlem to see Alexander Hamilton's house. We ate a ton of good food. I didn't love it as much as I loved Chicago, but I would definitely go back to see more Broadway shows. I woke up the morning we left not feeling great and now I have a cold (hopefully not Coronavirus haha). So I get to be lazy and nap even though I have lots of work to catch up on. What has everyone else been up to?

We went on a food tour of Grand Central Terminal since it was cold. There is a TON of food there! We also went on a food tour of Hell's Kitchen. Both were very delicious. My sister isn't big into trying crazy things, but everything we had was really good. Even the 99c pizza at 11pm was great. I can definitely see myself going back over and over to just eat great food and watch shows.

Is everyone okay on TP? *eyeroll* It's funny to read about the NYC visits. We just got back. It was my first time, Honey was born there. I had to go for appointments, so we fit in what we could in between. We were there three days. I loved it. I liked eating in restaurants and sitting next to window, watching foot traffic. However, after we got back, I went to the grocery store. Four stores later, I found TP at a small store without much foot traffic. We were down to one roll, so I had to find some. I am home for the duration. As a couple of you know, I have not been well, so they have sent me home to work from here. I was not happy, but we get a lot of out-of-country visitors. However, that will slow down now, as well. They also didn't like that I had been to NYC. Our flight back to Detroit had less than a dozen people on it. I'm surprised they didn't cancel it.

I already looking forward to going back someday! I loved NYC more than I thought I would. So very different than where I live. I was lucky and bought a Coscto pack of TP right before everything got crazy, so we have enough for probably a month. Yes tanmi! Stay at home and stay well. My trip to Boston to finally meet Thor was cancelled, it was supposed to be next weekend. Hopefully I'll get another chance. We were thinking of going to Boston anyway to have some fun, but it seems like everything will be shut down. Now I've got to take the time at some point to sit on hold forever to see if I can get a credit for my flight to use another time.

Working from home is not easy. I was used to having easier access to the people I needed to speak to on a daily basis. I used to pop down to the plant floor, or over to a person's cube, not now and it's making communication difficult.
I'm on the phone almost all day now, along with the computer trying to work on issues. UGH!!!
How's everyone doing? I hope you're all well and comfortable with your "lockdown".

So Good to SEE YOU FRIEND!!!!! I'm only on day three and I'm already going Jack Torrance. We were all on a "work from home optional" status throughout last week, but the hammer came down on Sunday with a terse email informing us that not only is our office closed but our entire building is closed as well. What's also horrible is the amount of scamming and internet hoaxes that are being perpetrated all around the world. Our IT department is going crazy sorting and warning us of far-reaching scams. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? (roll eyes) My cats think it's a party. Two video conference calls where either Shamus or Samson has walked directly across the line of sight in the monitor.

Hello Darling.
LOL. The world has gone crazy.
I know exactly what you mean about the cats and meetings. I finally put a piece of paper over my camera and not sharing video. Alex thinks the laptop is for sleeping or grooming, or time to nibble my nose.
So far, I'm reading and haven't gotten into telly. It helps that I do have to work all day. I'm recovering from another surgery, so by evening I'm pretty wiped.
What's everyone watching? Any bingeing?

Hopefully businesses are being a little relaxed and understand that there are going to be interruptions from pets and kids at home.
But yes, the world has gone crazy. I woke up to my bed shaking yesterday morning because of an earthquake, biggest one I've ever felt and we are about 60 miles from the epicenter. Luckily, no one was hurt and there wasn't too much damage done. But that is not going to help the panic buying to slow down here.
Kids have been home all week, but yesterday was the first day to actually start doing school work online as the teachers needed time to prepare. It's interesting to see the difference in how they all approach it. They all agree that they never want to be home schooled though. Emily, even though she's sick, spent as much time yesterday as she could trying to get everything done so she has more time to sit around and do nothing. Tyler planned to do just the days work, but was trying to get it done as fast as he could and be done with it. Owen did a little in the morning and then wanted a break, but had to be reminded that he had work that needed finishing in the afternoon.
We still plan on going to the cabin this weekend, it will definitely help so we don't feel like we're going crazy. The kids are taking the dog on a lot of walks for their PE and he is in heaven. I wish the weather were a bit nicer, we've been getting rain. I'd love some sunshine to enjoy.
Me and Kevin finished Locke and Key on netflix and we both liked it a lot. I'm rewatching Sanditon on PBS. Other than that, I'm still watching a lot of cooking shows and sit coms trying to clear out my DVR. I'm reading The Monk, written in 1796 after hearing about it watching Northanger Abbey. It has very little to do with a monk so far, though there is one in it, he doesn't feel like the main character to me.

Library stories!
On Tuesday I spent most of the day at the library. Certain things I just can't do at home, and I don't subscribe to the local paper. Half the computers were "out of service". That way people wouldn't be sitting close together. A sign on the door said call if you have symptoms. I'm not sure what that means. The hospital had a similar sign. There were no programs for children or anything else where lots of people would be together. No confirmed cases in my county as of this morning.
The two year college was about to go on Spring Break and it was not known when that would end. It was the last day I could go to their library.
Another two year college in the area has online only classes and only students who need to use the library briefly are allowed in. Of course, the whole town seems to be shut down based on what the newspaper said. Only one case confirmed so far in that county.
Wednesday I went to the library where I look at the most newspapers. Weird. First they had people outside who could provide curb service, and special curb service parking. Every employee wore blue gloves. Book stacks were off limits with yellow tape. If you want something, they get it for you. That includes every newspaper now, while normally the newest newspapers are accessible. Half the computers were "out of service". The second floor restrooms were locked. As of today, the newspaper web site says curbside service and computer lab only. I don't know what that means for my looking at newspapers but I'll ask. One case confirmed in that county as of yesterday.

We've made it through our first week at home! The kids are supposed to be home again next week and then we have Spring Break. We were supposed to spend that week (April 6-10) in Nebraska visiting my family, but we'll have to see how that goes. The trip may be shorter than planned if there is nothing to do while there. My sister had a baby recently so we want to meet her and see the grandparents of course, but after a few days quarantining with Grandma and Grandpa will get pretty boring so we'll see how it goes.
We are heading up to our cabin for the weekend. It was going to be really nice, but then it had to go and snow 4 in up there over night, so now it will be gross and muddy so the kids will still be stuck inside a lot.
The local health departments tried to make it illegal (misdemeanor) to have groups gathered greater than 10 people, but the governor stopped them and said we'd like everyone to not gather in groups bigger than that, but the health dept had no right to actually make it illegal.
The kids are really hoping to get back to school after Spring Break and I'm crossing my fingers, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to "homeschool" a bit longer, just hopefully not the entire rest of the year.

We woke up to snow, as well. I am so over it. Not that I'm going anywhere, but the roads look clear.
I have been wondering about Locke and Key. Is it scary? I don't have the correct brain for scary right now.
I started watching the Richard Armitage Netflix show, The Stranger, but I found the it frustrating trying to understand anyone that wasn't Richard Armitage. I gave up in ten minutes. I'll try again, using closed captioning. I guess I must be used to how he speaks, or he really was the most clear.
Our governor issued Stay-at-home order today. It doesn't really affect me yet, as I only go out if absolutely necessary.
Where I work, almost all "office" people are working from home. If the plant shuts down, which it likely will, then I'm not sure what will happen.

It's already starting to slowly melt away... :-) Locke & Key is about a family who inherits an old mansion in the woods that contains secret keys that bring wishes or open secret doors, both good and bad. Fun!

Locke and Key would be scary to kids maybe, but its definitely not an adult "scary" show. It's lots of fun, but there is a "bad guy" of course!
Kevin is still working but things have slowed down. I'm guessing at some point people are only going to call if there is an emergency as they don't want strangers that could be sick in their home. We haven't had to lay anyone off yet, which is good. Hopefully things stay going well.
