Ding Dong the hellatus is Dead! Come vote and tell us in detail what you thought of the episode - whether it changed your life, or made you cringe (not in the good SPN way)! Remember, this isn't the Fight Club Sorry if you saw two of these... there were some miscommunication issues: Here is the synopsis for tonight's episode: DOUBLE TROUBLE - After a ballerina is found dead from dancing herself to death, Sam and Dean look into the case and discover the ballet slippers she wore were cursed. When Dean accidentally touches the shoes the power of the curse starts to take hold of him. John Showalter directed the episode written by Robert Singer & Jenny Klein. www.cwtv.com/shows/supernatural/episodesEnjoy! ~ MissNiChloe

can i just say.......HOLY CRAP ON A STICK! WHAT THE HELL? the beginning was just freaking hilarious. dean wanting to dance,mini-michael myers, and retrieving a cursed skin mag from a guy who lives on JOHNSON STREET sam nearly gets pancaked by a big rig......again. then the two leviatwerps wanting to chow down on the boys. one decides instead of chowing on the boys, he'd rather help them kill his boss and chow down on her. also not buying his "we're here to help" crap. then 'Bad Moon Rising' plays and you know thats never a good thing. they goto frank's only to find a bloody mess, but no frank. que next week's preview and MEG bringing dean to cas. yea,no good ever comes from following a demon.

The little ballerina girl was so cute saying "sorry!" every time she kicked Dean with her pointe shoes. Hey, there's a reason why people kept thinking that there is wood in those shoes, they're hard as rocks! I love it that Sam rushed over to put the shoes in the box before Dean could take them a for a spin.
There were twists and turns and gore and humor and oh-my-god!moment, I seriously thought Sam would get hit by the truck and that's how he ended up in the asylum. Nope, not this episode.
Over all I liked this very much.

I gave it an A-. For the most part I really loved it, but I still feel like we're 3/4 of the way through the season and we still don't really have any true clue about the leviathan plan. I like MOTW epis but I'm ready for some real info about the season storyarc.

I'm going to have to go with D on this one. A tad better than awful simply because I loved the little girl and the ballet slippers scene.
If they had stuck with offing ballerinas or some such in this episode I would have rated it a lot higher. That would have been a worthy MOTW episode.
Sadly, after the bathroom scene, it just turned into a dog's breakfast. I wish the show would decide whether the Leviathan are the scariest things to ever walk the plant, or just a bunch of bumbling bozos. If it's the former, then they need to start fng showing it. And don't spare the horses.

I gave it an A. I have very low expectations for every episode this season so when I like one it's a pleasant surprise.
I loved Friday the 13th the series and this was reminescent of that. I would have liked to know how the lady knew about curse boxes and where she got them so I wish that had remained the focus of the plot. Deviating to the Levis was mostly a distraction. I think the Levis are the most boring big bads ever.
Dean was his old self again which was a joy. I'm really sick of Dean this season, always wallowing is self-pity and despair so it was great to at long last see Dean care about Sam and what he's going through and that he wanted to take care of him. I really miss that Dean.
One little nitpick which bugged me. The guys separate now every episode which I hate but why is it always Sam who has to find other wheels? Dean just took off and left Sam walking off to do what? Rent a car? Steal a car? Couldn't Dean drive him wherever so he could get another car?
The Leviathan storyline is so stupid. Buying a whole downtown so they can build a research center to cure cancer? When do they plan on taking over the earth? In the next century? I don't even care where it all is going. I swear the writers make it up each week.

Some good stuff and some meh stuff. And the less said about the promo, the better.
First, the good stuff...
1) The Friday the 13 The Series homage - I was a fan of that old cheesy show, so I was amused to see the idea of a flood of cursed objects suddenly flooding the area and needing to be corraled. And some of those objects hit a little close to home for me. I used to dance and remembered how my toe shoes nearly destroyed my feet - think that I got off early. And as someone who loves to cook (and gotten burned and sliced more than a few times), I saw all those vintage kitchen utensils and began to cringe (since there is nothing worse than getting slices by a Civil War era knife - long story there). The kettle though... ouch.
2) The cursed objects being only the lead in - Admittedly I wasn't thrilled when I read the promo material that it looked like this would be a filler ep that was only losely tied to the overall series coming right off of hiatus (and the show has a record of lackluster hiatus lead in eps), but the cursed objects were the least part of the episode. Liked that they kind of stumbled on a major Leviathan plot while they weren't actively trying.
3) Perfect balance of humor to horror - I always enjoy the show when we get those flashes of humor to accent the gore and tension, but sometimes it gets overdone. But this time, they didn't overdo it. I was dreading that we'd be stuck with a generic episode of Dean fighting the ballet shoes curse and being in mortal danger (as well as the mental image of Dean being en pointe), but it ended up just being a few suble jokes of Dean trying to keep his hands off the shoes that were suddenly his size.
4) Sam's storyline - wow, they actually focused on what's going on with him a bit. But this wasn't perfect (see the Meh section). Jared, though, gave it everything he got, showing the clear effects of what fighting off Lucifer was starting to cost and that he was being affected. As someone with chronic insomnia, I can sympathize deeply because I know full well how utterly useless I am when I don't get enough sleep and I can well imagine how Sam is feeling right now.
5) No mopey Dean! - How nice is it to see Dean pocket the eternal "woe is me" cloud that has hovered over his head all season and actually be focused without having to force him to take a job that doesn't involve Dick Roman? Again, not perfect Dean this week (see the Meh section).
5) Bickering Leviathans - always good for a chuckle.
6) Bad Moon Rising - whenever they play this song, you know that something really, really bad is about to happen. Don't know if Frank staged his "death" to get the Leviathans off his back, or if he really got eaten. Either way, not good news for the Winchesters.
The Meh...
1) The handling of Sam's storyline - While on one hand, I was very glad to see the show starting to show some real focus on what's going on with Sam and the effect that it's taking on him mentally and physically (however late in the season it may be). But it is being handled in a pretty lame manner. I get that they can't have Mark P. available at all times, but it's frustrating that Sam has to tell us what he's feeling and we aren't seeing any of it. It's amusing to be told that Luci has been serenading Sam with "Stairway to Heaven" on a loop, but not seeing it ourselves just dilutes the tension. There are ways for us to get a sense of what's going on in Sam's head and POV without Mark P. Let Sam suddenly see Dean say something completely cruel and OOC, blink, and then be right back to normal Dean and be left wondering if what he saw was real or not. Or have random people do strange and creepy things. If the whole point of Sam's mental breakdown is that he loses his ability to tell what is real and what is hallucination, the show isn't doing very much to show that break coming. Right now Sam's got Luci taunting him (unseen) in his head and is badly sleep deprived, but I'm just not getting a real sense of Sam losing his grip and was rather dissapointed to see the real beginings of a breakdown being imminent absent.
2) Dean's awareness of what's going on with Sam - On one hand, Dean at least is aware that Sam is not doing well, but I kept getting the sense that he was more concerned about how Sam's sleeplessness was affecting his ability to handle the case rather than recognizing that Sam was really on the verge of a huge fall. I get that there's not a whole lot that Dean can do at this point, and Dean has a bit of tunnel version in focusing only and what he can directly affect rather than worrying about what he can't. But just worrying that Sam isn't sleeping (rather than really trying to understand just what is happening in Sam's head) gives the impression that Dean is missing the forest for the trees.
So all in all, not a bad ep at all, but there were some pretty significant issues involving the Winchesters that could have been handled a lot better.

All in all, I liked this episode.
I liked how the little girl kept apologizing after kicking Dean in the face. And I enjoyed all the little digs and jokes surrounding Dean and the shoes.
I enjoyed seeing Sam finally start to lose control and Dean seriously take notice about it. I know Dean sort of noticed before, but this episode seemed to really show him noticing what was going on with Sam.
There is just one thing I am sad/disappointed about concerning Sam:
I was under the impression that Dean was going to put Sam in the asylum at the end of this episode. So when that never happened, count me as being a little confused. When I saw Sam falling asleep at the wheel, I thought he was going to crash, rescue was going to take him to the hospital, and when Dean eventually found out about the accident and got to the hospital, it would be at that point he'd realize just HOW BAD it was, and reluctantly make the decision to put Sam in the asylum.
Poor Frank. I’m going to assume that a Levi got him.

Enjoyed the episode. What I loved most was Dean's repartee. His snark is most entertaining. Dean and Bobby had their own give-and-take moments, but Dean can be much more snarky and insulting with Frank because he is not a father figure.
And Dean was sober! Yes! When he realized how tired Sam was, Dean did the computer research. I always knew Dean was smart as well as macho. Glad Sam told Dean he was having problems. My favorite Sam comment was that Lucifer was singing to him. Sam, Sam, Sam, Sam, Sam - please get some sleep.
Random thought: Did anyone notice Dean step on the broken glass and blood when he entered the trailer? Those guys must be a CSI's worst nightmare.
Supernatural continues to leave things open-ended so fans can draw any conclusion. Hello... George is a Leviathan, albeit a dorky one. What happened to kill all monsters?
P.S. I did the count and think I mentioned "Sam" an equal number of times as "Dean".

i was under the impression that they killed george, offscreen.
as for sam's crazy- i honestly think the writers painted themselves into a corner with that. they probably couldn't make it as grandios onscreen,as theyve made it sound offscreen. they also probably dont have the budget to bring sam's time in the cage, to life on the screen. i've noticed that they are doing with sam's hell what they did with dean's hell. we're getting quick subpar images of hell/cage. with dean, we saw he was in the dark, his eyes were looking around, we heard screams and saw the color of flame reflected off dean's skin. with sam, we have images of him consumed by flame, quick shots of a meat hook, and sam's cries. we didn't get the in depth look at what either boy went thru, and i doubt we ever will. so we're left with seeing the effects of their hell/cage time thru the boys' actions and emotions. it's not what we expected or wanted, but its pretty much all we have.

To be honest, I recorded this episode and have watched only 23 minutes of it. I TRIED to get into it, but I was so bored, I deleted the rest of it. Just not at all impressed. This is the WORST season of SPN I've ever seen. It just goes on and on, making no sense.
