Hello Saturn Girl .....how are things in the future?

I had a bad headache yesterday because it was crazy yesterday! I had 8 students in class plus of my head hurting I went to my classroom to go rest my head and my lovely brother/friend had to nerve to throw my PSP case and it hit in my head! OUCH!

Kids can be so wild sometimes to the point where they would do something like that. Don't take it so personal if they do something like that because I know for a fact (from my Psychology classes) that most of the time, if they act out, it's because they do not know how to express their feelings otherwise. If he's been acting out like this for awhile, then there's probably something bothering him. The best way of figuring that out is to watch how he plays. If it's kinda rough play (like let's say it was me and I was the kid's age, I'd be abusing my barbies, that would mean I was going through major issues dealing with abuse). Then as he is playing, go up to him and sit down so you're at his level and ask why he's playing like that (like back to my example, you would ask why I'm yelling at my barbies).

Thanks Sis and I think he is jealous by all the attention I am giving to my students these days and is lashing out because I am not hanging around him that much, he forgets I am an adult and I have a lot of responsibilites. I don't get to talk to him much and I think he feels threatened by that because of that but because he spends so little time with me and doesn't call me on the phone I rarely get a chance to talk with him.

I would say just go talk to him, one on one. See, if it's just the fact that he's jealous, or if it's something more. It looks like he's become attached and he's afraid of losing a friend. Like I said, go talk to him one on one.

That's the biggest problem though, as soon as i start to talk to him one on one he walks away from me or pretends he doesn't hear me, it's really frustrating too because i know we need to talk about what's the latest but sadly it's just not happening.

Be assertive. Get down to his level and say, "Hey, we need to have a talk!"

Then once you have his attention by saying we need to talk, you need to say, let's talk about something other than Taylor Swift and make sure he understands that then start talking to him.
