Ok, so AntiArbitrator and I are planning on both watching the last 2 episodes tonight. Here's a thread where we'll post what we're experiencing as we take breaks. Before we even start, I'll just say that I'll miss Dale. And I think Carl's a little shit.

OK. Carl is feeling a little guilty now. Does that count for something?

Showing compassion for Shane will make Shane think he still has a chance with Lori.

Well, I'm stopping the video to post here from time to time, so we were bound to be out of sync soon. I just watched the part before the show theme comes on: Carl? Crocodile tears. He's Shane's offspring too, I say. Loved how they 'saluted' Dale's memory and their humanity by massacring a bunch of zombies.

Has Shane become psychotic?

He's always been psychotic.
Anyway, I'm at the place you were at with your last post. I say the writers purposely gave Lori a chance to make peace with Shane right there for a reason. But waiting to see if I'm right.

Don't think friendship can survive between Shane and Rick even if they both survive.
Crap! Just. Crap!

liked the scene between Glen and Andrea at the bus. Andrea and Dale were supposed to have a relationship together--at least that's the way it is in the comics from which the show originates. I like to think I see her tears from that missing future in the scene.

I like the scene at the bus too. I could tell music during that scene had a lot of significance. Wasn't sure what at first. Now it's more clear.

Shane killing Randall offscreen was especially chilling.

Starting to watch Beside the Dying Fire episode
Some of these scenes are disgustingly scary.

That's a huge group of walkers. Too many. Carl will not let his father off the hook. He is going to demand answers regarding Shane. Wonder if they will let us know why people are now affected differently in the way they can become Walkers.

Just finished first episode. I was kinda hoping Shane would get eaten by walkers, but this worked out fine. You've noticed two cases in which people with no bites re-animated, which means they're in line with the comics here. Starting episode 2.

OMG, it's the Atlanta zombies catching up with them?
Finally we get a scene that's as epic in scope as last season, when Frank Darabont was the showrunner, before AMC cut the budget by 40%.

I know where you are now. I am taking a ten-minute break because my heart is pounding. I'm such a fraidy cat but I love the series.
I never read the comics. Became interested in the series when you talked about it on the CWL. Then I watched a marathon. I don't know why this last episode is scaring me so much. Maybe because I'm not sure who they will kill off.

The guy in the bus who got eaten? Who was he? I'd never even seen him before tonight.

I don't know him either. He must have been one of Herschel's people who stayed in the house.

Darryl is very much the redneck version of Steve McQueen in The Great Escape on that motorcycle.

Yeah, I agree. McQueen was a cool dude and so is Darryl.
I was thinking about Jimmy (guy who got bit in the RV). He might be the young man who ran and got Rick to help Otis with capturing Walkers.
Was Shane in the comics? Did he a big role?

Yes, he was in the very beginning book or two, but was killed off very quickly, so, no, he didn't have nearly as big a role. And just like in the episode, he was shot by Carl.
But he wasn't a zombie in the comics. He had pulled a gun on Rick.

Thanks. This was a really exciting episode.
A phanton looking dude rescued Andrea. I was hoping she would not be killed off. She became one tough lady. The phantom might make an interesting twist to the dynamics of the survivors. People kept clammoring for Rick to grow a set. Well, he is taking charge now, whether they like it or not. Lori had better stand by her man. She had to know Shane could not be trusted.
I never wanted Shane to be killed, but I understand that it had to happen.
Going to watch The Talking Dead now. Host is so funny.

I'm finished with it. I think we might have seen another big character from the books there rescuing Andrea. Her name is Michonne. And so cool that we got to see the prison at the end. That's where the next chapter is set in the books.
I agree. Much better episode than most this season. It actually felt like a zombie show again. I'd really missed the grand scale of last season a lot.
That was fun!

Great suggestion of yours to do a synchro-watch! A lot of fun to have someone to compare notes with as you watch. Thanks, Anti! Enjoyed it.

Uh-oh. You're hooked now. It was a lot of fun doing this synchro-watch together. The way you're going you'll be up to the last two episodes of season two in no time.
