Ok Gang – we need your input and your help. See, we have short attention spans, and unreliable binges of creativity, but we are looking to shake things up a bit. When Moon gets bored, he makes us all play Twister – again, and even though Chloe cheats, LC wins every time! We want to add some stuff to the site, cook up some new ways and places to play and hang out.
You will see some ideas above, please vote on anything that appeals to you, and then discuss the details in the thread. Most importantly, add anything that we haven’t thought of – site features, topics, contests, you name it – this can range from threads, to activities, to whole new forums. No idea is too wacky; in fact, “wacky” is sort of our bread and butter around here. Be as specific as you can be; and we may even ask you to help put our next big thing into place! The ideas above are just to get things started; y'all impress us as we know you can...think outside the box, push the envelope (insert additional cheesy workplace motivator, here)! Don't limit your suggestions to just topics...any way for us to interact as a community, share our experiences and creativity, or generally enjoy it here...that's what we are after!

I have to tell ya, Antiarbitrator and I decided to do a synchro-watch of the last two episodes of The Walking Dead the other night, which both of us had recorded but not watched till then.

It was an incredible amount of fun. We made a thread we could post to while we did it: displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=twd&thread=1082&page=1#34978

It creates a wonderful sense of community to know that other folks are experiencing the same thing as you at the same time. And reading their posts during commercials, or, when you take a break, gives you other points of view you might not have considered along the way. There is a real feeling of connectedness and shared experience that comes from it.

I invite anybody who's interested in a great community experience to try a synchro-watch sometime.

Foods & Recipes are my "other" suggestion for a forum. We're an international site, let's get the most out of that and see/try the culinary arts of eachother.

That would be awesome. I've been interested in cooking all of my life, and even worked in the field in various ways over the years (I once did a cooking show on the radio, if you can believe that, in a couple of markets.)

From my time in Louisiana I learned an awful lot about cooking in the cajun and creole style. And from my time in Alabama and Mississippi, a good bit about southern cooking. I do a bit of Italian and oriental cuisine as well. In fact, I think I make the best spaghetti and meatballs, and lasagna in the world, and yes, it has to be meatballs, because making a meat 'sauce' just isn't the same.

I love Greek and Lebanese food, and would relish learning to prepare the dishes that I love to order in restaraunts.

I do love to bake as well. One of my favorite auxiliarly jobs in Louisiana was baking desserts for a local coffee shop.

And you're right, we have people from all over the world posting here, so it would be a great opportunity to learn more about their local dishes and how to prepare them!

i am all for the book club as you will see i suggested it in a thread a while back i didnt get any replies but hopefully you guys can get this started i would love to have a book club as i am usually left to vent to my husband over the books i read and he has no idea what i am talking about

This is long term we're talking here, and that mostly works if we all have a bit of a say in what we wish to see logging on here!


Aaaand typing that, I was thinking of a "new shows/rumour mill" section. Anyone seen or heard of an upcoming pilot or project that might become a new favourite, would be nice for others to look and maybe be bitten by the curious bug.
