I've LOVED Robert Carlyle ever since I watched him in a BBC series called "Hamish MacBeth." He was a cop on a small island in Scotland. but he does oily, evil quite well.  |

Oh I agree, I admit I didn't know Robert Carlyle until Once Upon A Time, but he is good! He plays evil quite well. At least I take it Rumple is evil? I'm not sure, I'm a tad confused on that, but that's partly why I want you guys to join me in the Once Upon A Time forum. Please? |

Next time I find extra money to rent those movies, I will. I actually was not able to afford to rent a movie or go to the movies (which is hard for me to do anyways because of my hearing impairment) for a few years now, though. But I am not one to give up! ![]() As far as Stargate Universe, I may end up having to find it online. I've seen a few episodes (I don't think I saw him though) but I love the show. But I feel we should be respectful to the OP and move this discussion to the Once Upon A Time forum, in fact, maybe a Robert Carlyle appreciation thread is in order. *Goes to make the thread* ;D |

You should check him out in the movies Eragon, Trainspotting, and The Full Monty. He is fucking adoreable!! He was also on Stargate Universe. I love this man!!! ![]() ![]() While I didn't find SV-U all that great, I loved his character....you never knew whether he was a good guy or a bad guy. Sorry that the series got cancelled so quickly. |

If any episode gets him an Emmy nomination, it will be last night's. He showed a full range.
Pleasant to Henry, loving to his son, cowardly, vulnerable, evil ... all in one episode.

ITA, Kyle. I was pleasantly surprised that the episode centered around Carlyle's character. He played each of the roles so brilliantly that I am unsure which role is my favorite.

A few years back, on BBC America, they ran a show he starred in, called "Hamish MacBeth." He played a police officer on a small Scottish island. It was lightweight, but he was fun to watch.
