What was the first music purchase you ever made by yourself? The album/cd/download you chose by yourself, for yourself. Mine was Styx Paradise Theater

I think it was Green Day's "Dookie" cd but it was so many years ago it's hard to say.

I think my first download was a song from the Swan Princess movie "Because I love her" or "Christmas Eve in Washington" which is a traditional Christmas song that is played here in the D.C. area

I think the first song I ever downloaded was by Bonnie Raitt. I have no idea what my first music purchase was.

I don't remember my first music purchase. I bought some cassettes for my father for Christmas, knowing I could also use them. Most of them have yet to be opened.
I do remember receiving as presents "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy and "Foursider" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
For those who don't know, Walter Murphy is in charge of the music on "Family Guy" but he's most famous for the disco version of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. The album didn't have a lot of good stuff on it.
And The Tijuana Brass you have probably heard somewhere. The one song by them that people might know is the theme from "The Dating Game".

I bought a wax cylinder of "My Old Kentucky Home" for my Victrola from Alva Edison. He was selling them out of the back of his new Model T Ford. I think it was sung by Andrew Jackson after he went solo from the Jackson 2.
