For whatever reason, these days I'm really enjoying the classic harmonies I heard in songs. That--and a good story. This song has both.
With his car stopped at a light near the Hell's Kitchen area of New York, songwriter Bob Gaudio watched a dirty-faced girl working for change clean his car windshield. When he reached into his pocket to tip her, all Gaudio had were large bills. He gave her $20, and the stunned look on her face stuck with Gaudio all the way to the recording studio, where he worked with fellow songwriter Bob Crewe and fashioned what would become a #1 hit for Frankie Valli & Four Seasons during the summer of 1964.

and a great song from The Hard Way and Dirty Dancing:
the first video is the original one and the second one is Michael J. Fox singing it in the Hard Way

I like him better without The Four Seasons. He's annoying when he sings with them.
My favorite radio station plays a lot of his music. I've never heard "Grease", but that's a little more uptempo than their usual. It may not be for long.

I heard "December 1963" on the radio this morning. That may be the only song by the whole group that my favorite pop station plays when using the national format. The local morning show probably has more than that.

I heard "Rag Doll" this morning, but the reason I heard it wasn't a good one.
It's bad when a radio station relies primarily on a satellite service and then experiences problems with the satellite. Several times they tried to air a song from the satellite and it would sound fine for a while and then have problems. So someone put on songs there at the station. They didn't sound quite like what I'm used to.

What's the real shame is that these days real live local radio is becoming rarer and rarer, and it takes a technical problem in the satellite chain for it to happen.
This one is probably my second favorite Four Seasons song of all time:

I can't remember now what song I heard this morning, but I'm sure it was them.
This was on the local morning show, before they switch to the satellite.
One man owns the station and he generally does the morning show. It costs too much to have people on the air more than that. The DJs that can be heard nationwide are really good, and so is the music.

On the radio this morning, I heard just Frankie sing "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". I'm hearing "December 1963" on the radio right now. And this morning, The Lettermen sang "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" in a medley that included "Goin' Out of My Head".

I heard "Who Loves You" this morning. It's totally different from the sound you'd expect.

More likely it's not setting up your rotation rules correctly and not editing your music logs. Sloppy work by the Music Director at whatever station or, more likely, the network that your local station is using.
Most radio stations use a program called Selector to program how the music is scheduled throughout the day, and in most cases you would set it so that a song has to rotate through other dayparts before recurring in the same one again.
You say 'morning', but in radio morning is actually two different dayparts. One is 'morning drive' when when folks are going to work, approximately 5am-10am and the second is called 'middays' which runs from about 10am-3pm. So, depending on what time of the morning you heard the song it could have been in two different dayparts.
But chances are, if you're noticing it, the station either has an extremely small playlist, or someone is not paying attention to the music scheduling.

I don't know where the show originates but where it used to, the show really is a morning show. The local host sometimes plays a song which the network plays an hour later, but I thought they had playlists to keep that from happening. The local show ends at 9 A.M., though I know from holidays that the national morning DJ is on even sooner than that. If you look carefully at the dates of my posts, there's probably nothing unusual here.

Then there ya go. Most of the time when you're running a network morning show you don't get their playlist in enough time to adjust your local playlist to it.
If the network program plays a song at 8;45 am there's nothing to guarantee that your own playlist generated with Selector won't contain that very same song at 9 am, unless you've got a very aware jock on the air running things live that morning.
It still comes down to paying attention, if you're the Music Director. And actually listening to what's going on before you if you're the jock.

Well, the morning host owns the station. He doesn't do everything, but he does a lot.
I happened to wake up early this morning and got everything done ahead of schedule, so I happened to hear him play "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". You may not think that's a strange choice, but it is in fact very strange for this station. And the network wouldn't go anywhere near it. I hope.
