I think jennifer lawrence is a bad choice. She looks too frail and clumsy to play katniss...

It doesn't sound appealing to me, but I keep reading in the Asheville Citizen-Times that they shot the movie there.

I think jennifer lawrence is a bad choice. She looks too frail and clumsy to play katniss... Sent from my SPH-M910 using ProBoards ' I haven't read the books yet, but when the library opens again on Monday I'm planning on trying to get the first one. I just finished the Game of Thrones series and have no new one to read. Finishing Game of Thrones and having to wait 4 or 5 years for the next one is all too much like having to wait for the Harry Potter series x 100! That said, I obviously don't know the characters, but Jennifer Lawrence portrayed one the bravest and most self-sufficient characters who fought against unmerciful odds in "Winter's Bone." That's a movie that stays with you a long time after you've seen it. I'd say she is capable of anything. I think we have a major female actress on our hands here, the likes of which you don't see often in a lifetime. The closest I can come is to say she reminds me of a female version of Christian Bale, but even that's not enough. Looking forward to seeing the movie AND reading the books.

I always have a book in my hand... whether it's a physical book or on my Kindle (although I like the feel of a physical book better). I tried getting into the hunger games, but I just could not get into it.

i enjoyed the book alot and the movie was ok they really made it appeal more to a slightly younger crowd. and the film missed some of the character development and how she got the pin. but it was good. I went out and got the next book today I had a gift card so I bought it. I guess I just dont get the huge following with it its so battle royal meats the lottery

I tried getting into the hunger games, but I just could not get into it. Did you get to the Reaping or did you quit before that? I found the book really picked up after the tributes were chosen & I usually tell people I've recommended it to, to get through the Reaping before deciding to give up on it. I actually read the second book first & when I went to read the first one found myself thinking 'why did I keep reading this book?' before realizing I hadn't read it before. The beginning was rather slow & didn't seem as well written as the rest of the book(s)... not in terms of content, but more pacing, dialogue, flow, etc.

i am in the third book and so far it seems almost like im waiting for something idk how exactly to describe it but i am on 234 i believe and im fearfulk of how its gonna play out i keep reading and thinking why isnt more happening the books is almost over
when i saw the previews for the hunger games i didnt quite understand all of what was going on so i got the book and read it it didnt seem to slow for me but maybe that was because i had been prompted to read the book by the previews rather than just finding it myself perhaps i could have been more critical rather than hurrying through to find out whatwas going on idk either way its one of the best books ive read in a long while go suzanne collins she has written something that has caught many peoples attention and i do feel the second book was better than the first im just hoping this third one will live up to my expectations

It's been so long ago. I know I tried reading the first book first (as I always do, I have to do it that way) and I could not get past the first chapter.

I can't smell... And my grandmother heard about the Hunger Games last week on tv and she thought it meant people were going hungry! (I'm not making fun of people going hungry when I say that, I guess she thought that the whole world was going hungry or something like that... I don't know...)

I am almost finished with book one, and like it immensely. Don't want it to end, because I don't have book two in from the library yet!
