I am including one of my first writings, this was done for a history report I did in Elementary School and this is a story I did of what would it be like to meet Christopher Columbus and my thoughts on the trip to the New World. I am writing from a young man's experience and his brother's name is pronounced Hesus not Jesus!
MY SAILING EXPERIENCE
My name is Carlos. I am the first of five brothers and three sisters. My third brother is Roberto who is followed by Quatros and Sextos, my youngest brother. My second brother, Jesus is with me. The rest of my family lives in Madrid.
Jesus and I have come to Palos to seek our fortune. Things have been fairly dull up until yesterday when we were approached by a gentleman seeking help on a sea voyage. This very mysterious stranger is not from around here. I think he comes from Italy somewhere. Jesus is convinced that this hombre is crazy because he has crazy talk about sailing to India by going west. As for me, I don't know much about such things. But this stranger has promised good money if we agree to sail with him. My brother asks what good is money if you do not live to spend it? I think Jesus does not trust this stranger very much.
Jesus and I have never been to sea before. We know not what to expect. Maybe we will get sea-sick. Perhaps we will get lost at sea somewhere. Maybe, if our patron saints do not favor us, we will all die and never be heard of again. How long we will be gone, I cannot tell. I am sure that if my mother were here she would say that we will never return.
I think I like this strange-looking Italian in his gay clothing, which is so different from what we wear. His strange voyage offers reward and adventure in strange, faraway places. Perhaps we will make new friends on this voyage. Perhaps we will discover some strange new food to eat. Perhaps we will learn some new ways of doing things.
Some sea-faring men that we have met on the docks have already told us that life at sea is no picnic. They say that the bread can be hard as a rock and tastes just as bad. They tell us that we had better like a lot of fish for dinner, or else we might become unhappy with the food.
Some of them who have been sailing for many years insist that this crazy Italian will sail us off of the edge of the world. I do not think that the world has an edge, or else all of the water would run out of the sea. Still, some of the older ones insist that there are sea-monsters that will have us for lunch before we get back.
If we are to become lunch for the sea-monsters, I do not know, but Jesus and I have decided to go to sea with this crazy Italian to see what we can see. A friend of our mother whom we met will take word of our voyage back home to our family for us. That way it spares everyone the heart-break of good-bye.
The Spanish sun is very hot here in early August, but the crews seem to be in good spirits as we prepare to sail. We will have an expedition of three ships, the NINA, the PINTA, and the gay Italian will be in the Santa Maria. Jesus and I are on the NINA, which is very small. Actually, I have seen some row boats that are almost as big. These very small ships bob around on the water a lot. It tends to make me sick. Jesus is in high spirits and has no trouble with the sea motion like I do. Very soon our native Spain is far behind us as we sail toward the setting sun. Alas, we have been at sea for weeks now. I am filled with boredom. Like little corks bobbing on the water, our ships continue to sail in an endless sea. We could be sailing around in circles, for all I know. Twice now we have lost the PINTA and the Santa Maria when storms scattered our little expedition. I thank God that they were able to find us again. Jesus is not so sure that we even have a god out here. Will we ever walk on land again? Will we ever see Spain again? Will we ever again have anything to eat besides fish and these round bricks they call bread? What have we gotten ourselves into? The crew is ready to rebel and turn back!
"LAND! LAND! LAND HO!", the lookout cries. I have known for hours for I have seen the gulls overhead and smelled some strange aroma in the air. Indeed, the Santa Maria has changed her course and put on more sail. Even that crazy Italian wants to feel the earth beneath his feet once more.

I wrote this story during my depression and it helped me when I was feeling down and upset
The magical fairy
A story about a magical fairy who has many magical powers. She has only one enemy who is an evil goblin. One day the magical fairy gets kidnapped by the evil goblin. Read all about all her adventures and how she escapes.
Chapter 1 A happy life One day the magical fairy was in her garden. Then a set of triplets of one boy and two girls came to the the magical fairy's garden to stop by and say hello. Everyday someone would come by and say hello to the magical fairy.
Chapter 2 The evil goblin's plan The evil goblin had a plan to capture the magical fairy because he wanted her to become evil like him. His plan was to disguise himself as a little girl and ask the magical fairy to help her look for her lost puppy. He would then ask the magical fairy to look for the puppy in the woods where he lived. He would then take off his disguise and capture her.
Chapter 3 Kidnapped! The next day the evil goblin disguised himself as a little girl. He asked the fairy to look for her puppy. He then began to look in the woods where he lived. Then he took off his disguise and tied up the fairy and took to his hollow tree house. The magical fairy was fed only bread, cheese, and fruit and maybe some nuts. She had only water to drink. Will she ever get out alive?
Chapter 4 Escaped fairy! A month later the fairy escaped from the evil goblin's prison. She got out of the prison by putting a sleeping pill into the goblin's food. The sleeping pill put him to sleep for four weeks since it was a magic sleeping pill. When she got back home, the magical fairy's friends came and arrested the evil goblin and put him in jail after he had woken up. And he never bothered anyone ever again. And the magical fairy lived happily ever after.
The End!

Another writing during my depression, I actually wrote this during English class one morning while waiting for class to start!
The Magic Carpet
There once was a magic carpet that happened to be able to talk and it could take anyone anywhere at anytime that they wanted to. Now one day the magic carpet got stuck in some treetops and one of the tree branches caught on the middle of the magic carpet and it caused a big hole to show up in it! Because it had gotten torn, it wouldn't let anyone ride it until it could be repaired. Now the magic carpet needed special spools of golden thread to repair it and many of the people had thrown their golden thread away years before! But the magic carpet was upset and refused to let anyone ride it until it could be repaired; so the people went looking for the spools of golden thread that they had thrown away years before so they could ride the magic carpet again! As the days went by the hole in the magic carpet began to get bigger and it made it look even worse than before and so the town's children would run away from home so they could find the spools of golden thread. One day a young girl who had ran away from home found a spool of golden thread that was a pale gold in the town dump. And when she came into town the people took the girl to the magic carpet that explained to her that wasn't the thread but it thanked her for finding up that thread since it might help some other magic carpet whom needed it! As the days progressed, more children ran away from home in hopes of finding more spools of golden thread. One day after many days of searching one boy was able to find 5 spools of a dark gold thread that was in the attic of his grandparent's old summer cottage. The people took the boy to the magic carpet and the magic carpet explained to the boy that the gold thread was too dark for it but thanked the boy for trying. A few days later a young girl was able to find a wagonload of spools of golden thread that matched the magic carpet perfectly in an abandoned barn a few miles from where she lived. When the people saw the girl with the wagonload of golden thread they immediately took her to the magic carpet. The magic carpet was quite pleased with the girl and told her that since she had found the thread that she would get the first ride on it after it was repaired. The magic carpet also explained that it was actually a prince who had been put under a spell by a sorcerer and decided to pick the girl to be his bride when she was old enough to marry. The girl's parents agreed and several days later, she took the first ride on the newly repaired magic carpet and when she was old enough she married the prince who had been made into a magic carpet. They decided to keep the old magic carpet that he had been once the spell was broken as a reminder to show future generations that hard work does pay off! And everyone lived happily ever after.
THE END!

Another writing I did in English class during my depression period
The Mysterious Cottage
There once was a mysterious cottage where no one lived because there was believed to be a murder that took place there many years ago. One day a newly married couple were looking for a house to live in and they thought that the mysterious cottage was perfect for them. The people in town tried to discourage them from buying the house but the couple just wouldn’t listen to them because they thought everyone was jealous that they were going to have a nicer home than everyone else does. One dark night when everyone in town was asleep except for the young couple who were celebrating the success of getting their new home. Now the husband had gone downstairs to the wine cellar was to get more wine for them to drink since they had finished up the bottle they had leftover from their wedding. When the husband returned upstairs with the bottle of wine, he noticed that his beloved wife of just a few weeks lay dead on the bedroom floor, he was so frightened that he buried his wife in the backyard and had the house sold to a real-estate agent. He immediately left town vowing to never return again and the cottage was left abandoned was again. A few years later, a middle-aged couple with their two young children a boy and a baby girl moved into town and they decided to buy the cottage since it seemed so perfect their family. That night as the husband and the wife were talking as she put the baby girl to bed until they feel asleep. The next morning, as the middle aged mother awoke to get feed her baby daughter a bottle she noticed that the baby girl was laying on the floor dead and she began to scream and wail so loud that it seemed as though she woke up the entire town. Her husband reassured her that they still had their little boy and they could still try to have another baby girl if they really wanted to! A couple of months later, they had another baby girl and soon after the baby girl was born, they kept her in their room all the time. One evening when the father went to go his daughter her bottle he heard his wife screaming and he ran to go investigate. When he got to where his wife was screaming, he saw that their beloved little boy was dead and he decided at that moment that he had enough death in his life and he hired somone to inspect the house to find out why his son and his other daughter had died. The next day after the inspector inspected the cottage, the man asked the inspector if he had seen anything suspicious and was told that there wasn’t anything suspicious. The husband wasn’t convinced so he inspected the cottage all by himself and as he searched the rooms one by one he saw nothing until he arrived at the library. When he arrived at the library he saw a man sitting in a chair by the fireplace who introduced himself as the classmate who had beaten up his brother and had killed his children as well as his sister-in-law and was now going to kill him! The man ran to go find his family and told them to call the police right away; when the police arrived they arrested the man in the library and after that the man and his family lived happily ever after.
THE END!

The story of three friends and their many adventures on the west coast By: Alysia V. Parker
Introduction: This is a story about three girls that live on the West Coast and have many adventures while living there. Each one of the girls has a different talent that suits her type of personality. One girl can shoot a gun and she is very loud as well as bossy. The second girl can make quilts and she is very quiet as well as shy. The third girl can ride a horse and she is outgoing and ready to try anything. Each one of these girls has a piece of me inside of them. I hope that you will enjoy this story I have written.
Chapter 1 A stagecoach accident!
One day a long time ago, three girls were headed to three different parts of the West Coast and they were sitting near each other on the stagecoach that they were riding. One of the girls was named Betty and she could shoot a gun. She was planning on going to Arizona to go live with her cousin and family. The second girl was named Mary and she could quilt quilts and she was going to Oregon to go live with her sister Diane and her brother-in-law. The third girl was named Jenny and she could ride a horse and she was going to Nevada to return home to her parents. They were all coming home after a long semester at finishing school that was located in New Hampshire. And they were all excited to finally return home. As the stagecoach passed a huge mountain, some rocks began to fall down in the valley below where they were. They were meanwhile in the state of Oklahoma and still had several miles to travel in order to reach the places they lived in. As the rocks began to fall down, the girls screamed because they were afraid. The stagecoach driver lost control of the stagecoach and fell off which caused his neck to break and die instantly. The man who helped with the luggage broke his left arm as the stagecoach tipped over. When he noticed that the girls were still inside the stagecoach he began to help them out. The girls weren’t seriously hurt but they did have bumps and bruises and were very sore. Then he got their luggage out of the wrecked stagecoach as best as he could. Then he untied the horse that had not been killed in the crash and buried the stagecoach driver and the other horses. After doing all that he started a fire for the girls since it was starting to get dark. He told them that he was going to town to see if he could find help for them. Instead of taking the living horse he decided to leave it with the girls. Meanwhile Mary began to get scared that they would die in the desert. Jenny suggested that they should get something to eat but Betty shouted “Where at? The local saloon is about 40 miles from here.” Jenny told Betty to stop shouting since she was scaring Mary. Betty apologized to Mary for scaring her with her shouting. Jenny returned to the wrecked stagecoach to see if it was possible to reuse it to help them return back to their homes in Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. Betty noticed that the stagecoach could be used again so she and Jenny and Mary all pushed it back on the ground with all of their strength. Then Betty and Mary started putting their luggage back inside of the stagecoach while Jenny hitched up the horse to the stagecoach. Then Jenny got up on the driver’s seat soon Betty joined her and then Mary joined them since there was still room on top. Mary sat in the middle between Betty and Jenny while Jenny drove the horse and Betty held the driver’s gun that had been hidden in the seat cushion. All three of the girls didn’t say much to each other, soon they reached the state of Texas and they stopped at an abandoned house that they saw on the way. Then Jenny put the horse away and Betty and Mary put away their luggage so that it wouldn’t get stolen in the middle of the night. Then the girls went in the house for a good night’s sleep. The next morning Mary woke up and fixed them breakfast with the sausage and biscuits she was saving as a snack on her trip because she knew that the girls would be hungry after their long trip. Betty and Jenny were surprised to wake up and smell this food cooking. Mary had gone outside to go explore the land surrounding the house while Betty and Jenny ate breakfast. When Mary returned from exploring the land, the girls decided to fix up the house. Mary began sewing up some new curtains for the house while Jenny fed the horse and Betty tried to fix some of the furniture. By the time that they finished, Mary had made new blankets, Betty was able to fix some of the furniture and Jenny had decided to paint the house with some paint that she had found in the shed behind the house. So the girls put on their oldest clothes, which were like rags to us, and they began to paint. A few days later the house and the barn looked like a brand new place thanks to the girls’ hard work and they were quite pleased with what they had accomplished so far.
Chapter 2 Beginning a new life together.
Two weeks later, the girls began to realize that they probably would never see their families again. So they began to adjust to living together, which wasn’t easy at first because they used to argue with each other. After several days of arguing, they decided that they needed to work together instead of separately. So they decided to come up with a way so they could work together instead of individually. Mary was still shy as ever, Betty started becoming outspoken, and Jenny was learning how to control her temper. Also Mary was learning how to take care of the horse with Jenny’s help. Of course all three girls wished that they could return home to their families instead of living with each other for eternity it seemed like. The girls waited patiently for someone to come and get them. But then they realized that the man who went to go get help for them had possibly died as a result of his wounds as he went to go get help and got the help that they desperately needed in order to be taken back home. One day Jenny and Mary went to the woods that surrounded the house to get some firewood for the fireplace. While on their way back to the house, they lost their way and Mary began to get scared and Jenny did her best to calm Mary down. Meanwhile Betty was getting anxious for the girls to return, so she rode into town on the horse to the local sheriff’s office but he wasn’t there! So she went to the saloon to ask for help from the local men to help look for Mary and Jenny. Meanwhile Jenny lit the lantern she had brought with her and gradually led Mary out of the woods until they reached the house. After putting the firewood away they got cleaned up and ready for bed. Meanwhile Betty was having no luck to mounting a search party since most of the men were too drunk to do anything so she rode back to the house by herself. When she arrived at the house, she got cleaned up and went to bed. The next morning, Jenny and Mary told Betty what had happened to them and she told them what she had done in order to go find them. Two weeks later Mary got sick with the smallpox! Jenny and Betty did their best to take care of her but in the process they had gotten the disease themselves since they had never had it. As the days went by Mary was worried about Jenny and Betty because she was still too weak to take care of them plus herself. Several weeks later all three girls were feeling much better. How was this possible? A local farmer’s daughter discovered that they were sick as she went over to the house to invite the girls to a quilting bee at her parents’ home with several other women in the area. She returned home and told all of the women of the girls’ predicament and they began to take care of them right away, which took place over a period of two weeks. When the girls were fully well they made a quilt and a meal to thank them for taking care them since they were putting their lives in jeopardy by taking care of the girls. The women and the girls would regularly visit the women would had taken care of them and the women would visit them as well.
Chapter 3 New Friendships/Returning Home
The girls were busy enjoying themselves by having friendships with the local residents and also getting out of the house every so often. The girls were also starting to develop some new personalities. Mary was beginning to become less shy and more outgoing; she had even learned how to ride a horse! Betty was learning how to control her temper, which wasn’t always easy for Jenny and Mary. And Jenny was becoming a good sewer thanks to Mary’s help. Also all the girls were learning how to cooperate and appreciate each other by learning to like each other since they didn’t like each other at first. Another thing that they had learned to do was survive living in the woods in case they ever got lost. Mary and Betty went to church every Sunday while Jenny tried to telegram their families. But each time Jenny returned she had no news to report back to them so they would keep on praying that their families would contact them soon and not forget them either. They also prayed that someone from their families would contact them soon and come and take them back home. One day Mary decided to write a letter to each one of their families to let them know where they were so that their families could contact them. The letter said: “Dear ______’s family, I thought I would take the time to let you know that your family member____ is alive and well. She is currently living in Texas after a stagecoach accident a couple of weeks ago. We have tried to contact you but we believe you never received the Telegrams we have sent you. If you wish to contact ____ you can send her a letter to local post office in Texas where she is living. The post office is #490 Texas. I hope that this information will help you contact _____. Sincerely yours: a friend of theirs “
Soon after sending the letters, the girls still didn’t a response since the mail was slow in those days. Then one day Jenny received a letter from her father that said: “Dear Jenny, your mother and received a letter that mentioned that you are in Texas now. I plan to go and pick you up with your Uncle Henry in the next week or two. We can hardly wait to see you again. Stay out of trouble and don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about you. All the family is anxiously awaiting your return to us. Your loving father.” The girls were quite surprised but were very happy for her too even though they were somewhat sad as well as jealous. So the girls began to pack up Jenny’s things so that she would be ready to return home with her father and Uncle Henry. When Jenny’s father and Uncle Henry came to pick up the girls introduced themselves and wished Jenny good luck and promised to stay in touch with each other. As the days went by Betty and Mary adjusted to life with Jenny but they never forgot her or her impact on their lives. Two weeks later Betty received a letter from her aunt that said: “My dear Betty, how good it was to hear about you. We are planning to have your Uncle Michael and cousin Jim to come and pick you up before they go on their annual cattle drive. They should be there in the next week or two. The family is quite anxious to see you again and hear about what has happened to you while you were away from us. Don’t worry I will make your favorite meal in honor of your return to us. Your loving Aunt Hannah” When Betty finished reading the letter, Mary began to cry since no one in her family had contacted her yet. Betty told her to pack any way just in case they did contact her. When Betty’s uncle and cousin arrived Mary went with her to wish Betty good luck and promised to keep in touch with her. Two weeks after Betty left, Mary received a letter from her sister Diane that said, “Dear Mary, It was so good about how you are. I must apologize for such a late response but Thomas and I were trying to find you at the finishing school and they had said to us that you had already left over a month ago. Then we heard about a tragic stagecoach accident that was on its way to take you home to us. When we discovered that the driver had been killed and the other man’s body had been eaten by wild wolves known as coyotes because he had been in the desert without any means of protection. The man had a broken arm and several people claimed that they had seen three young ladies get out and head for Texas. Thomas and I didn’t believe that you would go so far but several days ago we received a letter that mentioned that you were in Texas after all. So Thomas and I are headed there to return you home to us. Do NOT worry little sister we haven’t forgotten you and we will be there as soon as possible. Love your older sister Diane and Thomas.” Soon after receiving the letter, Mary returned home with her sister and brother-in-law. As the years went by, the girls kept in touch but never saw each other again. They stayed friends until their dying day and never forgot the experiences they had while living in Texas. Also, the girls never returned to Texas but did go to Oklahoma and paid their respects to the stagecoach driver and the other man who had helped save their lives. The house where the girls had lived was made into a hotel for tourists and the girls’ families gave the horse to the farmer and his family as a reward for taking care of the girls when they were sick.
The End!

What is Life all about? By: A.V.P
Everyone has their own views Life is about living for the moment. People say life's not fair Do they realize what they're Really saying?
I don't think they do. Life may not be fair But we need to keep On living for the moment. It may not be fun But it's gotta be done.
Without life none of us Would be living in our world Thank God for the life He has given us.

I just want to be loved By Alysia V. Parker
I want to be a child who is loved by someone I am starving for some love by someone I won’t say who it is because it too painful to say I am tired of waiting of what may lay It just simply isn’t fair that this happens to me Why can’t you just let me be?
I just want to be loved I just want to be your special one I am tired of you thinking I am moved By your words when you see that I am alone It just isn’t fair that you do this to me Just simply let me be
It isn’t fair how you treat me You see how I am just you cannot accept that I want to scream, “Just let me be” I am not just some doormat I am someone who wants you to love me So stop just giving me a pat
I just want to be loved I just want to be your special one I am tried of you thinking I am moved By your words when you see I am alone It just isn’t fair that you do this to me Just simply let me be
I don’t understand how you can do this I want to know why this is happening to me It just isn’t fair because I don’t want this I love you but I just want you to let me be I want to be free from all this pain But your loves seems to stain
I just want to be loved I just want to be your special one I am tired of you thinking I am moved By your words when you see I am alone It just isn’t fair that you this to me Just simply let me be
I beg of you please stop this madness If you do this for me I will be full of gladness I love you but your hurt has got to end I know you think I will bend On this but you are mistaken if you believe this I just want you to be able to call me something besides miss
I just want to be loved I just want to be your special one I am tired of you thinking I am moved By your words when you see I am alone It just isn’t fair that you this to me Just simply let me be
I just want to hear you say I love you And that I accept you for you too Just let me be myself And the rest will fall into place like books on a shelf If you do this for me then I will know that you love me Just as long as you let me be
This one has been published while I was in college, people loved it and said it really spoke to them so I am glad it was used in ways to help others who are hurting.
