As you guys know, tomorrow is not only Mother's Day, it is the one year anniversary that Smallville ended. Yes, it has been ten years, a whole decade. We've had many good moments together and there will be many more good moments to come, I'm sure. Smallville is one of those rare shows that brings out true emotions of laughter and sadness. I'd like for us to share our stories about finding Smallville, how we began to come together, whether it was on the WB or the CW and then here. We've come a long way.
As a good man said (or at least a ghostly image or him said): Never Forget Smallville.
I found Smallville during season 2 or 3... it was also during the worse times of my home life. But I started watching Smallville, religiously. The show it self was the only hope I had for my life, to be honest. Especially, the character of Chloe Anne Sullivan. I could relate to her from the very beginning. Heck, I even had a Pete, Lana, and a jock version of Clark in highschool. So, I could relate. I basically imitated Chloe (realistically, of course) throughout my life because I did not know who I was. I remember the first day I joined the CW... it was sometime in September I believe. My friends and I had kinda fallen apart. I had only one true friend at that point and I could not see her often. One Thurday, I was watching Smallville and I saw an ad for cwtv.com. Now, obviously, I was curious... so while at the library the next day, I checked it out and joined shortly afterwards. The CW was my first online home. I had joined as NiChloe16 then later changed it to MissNiChloe.
I'd like to say that God helped me find this show then the community of friends at the right time. I honestly don't know where I'd be if I hadn't found you guys when I did. I am thankful that all of you are in my life today. I guess you could say the character of Chloe helped me to realize who I was... before I even joined this community, I was like a little girl, lost in the world. You see, for someone with a disability, we need positive role models. I never had that, so I used Chloe Sullivan. It's also why I changed my plan to be a teacher or reporter to be a psychologist. So, this whole decade is just full of bittersweet moments for me, but honestly, I wouldn't want to change a thing.
