Read it out loud.
30 cows were in a field and 28 chickens. How many didn't?

Before World War I, soldiers did not wear metal helmets. Once they started wearing metal helmets, more soldiers were hospitalized for head injuries than before they wore metal helmets. Why?

Merr, her husband, two of their kids, and their dog were on an island normally reached by a bridge. A storm washed out the bridge and they were left with a boat. The manufacturer's instructions said the boat should not carry more than 180 pounds.
Merr weighs 120 pounds. Each of her kids weigh 80. The dog weighs 15. Her husband weighs 170. What is the lowest number of trips across to the mainland that must be taken for the entire family to be rescued?

I think I've done this before, but if so it should be easy.
Timmy gave Spoonie 1000 $1 bills and ten envelopes. Timmy asked Spoonie to put a certain number of bills in each envelope so that if Timmy asks Spponie for any amount, Spoonie can give Timmy what he asks for.
How many bills go in each envelope?

I think I've done this one too.
Spoonie walks into a bar. Timmy is the bartender. Aeryn is there and she orders a free beer. Timmy says, "Six." Aeryn says, "Three." She gets her beer.
Tanmi walks into the bar. She orders a free beer. Timmy says, "Twelve". Tanmi says, "Six." Timmy gives her a free beer as well.
Spoonie asks Timmy for a free beer. Timmy says, "Fourteen." Spoonie says, "Seven." Timmy says, "No."
What should Spoonie have said?

I think I've done this but that will make it easier.
Timmy gave Spoonie a big job. His company was trying to sell its product in all 48 of the contiguous United States, and he wanted Spoonie to visit each state by car to market the product. One requirement was that he enter each state only once before the last state was reached, with the exception of the headquarters state of Delaware, where Spoonie worked already. Though he would enter Delaware (and all the states between that last state and Delaware) when he returned home after reaching the last state, where Timmy would meet Spoonie, because, as Spoonie knew, Timmy was born there.
What is the last state Spoonie will visit?

Thanks anyway for creating these new boards AND making my job harder. Maze is Tanmi's mechanic. Winter is coming. Tanmi wants to take her summer tires off and put winter tires on. She wants the summer tires marked so they can be put back on her car when Spring comes. Maze has a marker but it's not working very well and he doesn't want to get a new one before taking Tanmi's old tires off. So he needs to mark each tire with as few letters as possible to indicate which tire is which. What is the smallest number of letters he can use/

There's a way to do it with fewer letters. Also, R could mean right, and it could mean rear. We don't know whether Maze will be the one to put the tires back on or even if Maze will remember what the letters mean.

So the lowest number of trips is 7.

Also, you only mention one rear tire when there are two.

I'm going to give you a hint from the "official" answer. You are correct that one of the tires isn't marked at all.

Wow, has no one gotten one of these right in months?
Still, I have a new one. What is the only English word with three sets of double letters in a row?

I came up with this one on my own. I've actually heard a similar version.
Joseph watched the news on the CW affiliate and he liked the new meteorologist Rudolf Gudonov. His wife Mary only watched Fox News (which also supplied the Fox affiliate with national stories) and got her weather from the Fox affiliate's meteorologist. Rudolf said it was going to rain, while Mary's favorite meteorologist said no. Mary insisted her cute blonde was right and reminded Joseph that Rudolf was found to be a Communist.
When it did rain after all, what did Joseph say?

I may have done this one. You need two gallons of water but you are out in the middle of nowhere and only have a seven-gallon container and a three-gallon container. How do you measure two gallons?
