God, there are so many. Where do I start? Count Dracula, the Frankenstein monster. Harry Potter. The pulp fiction hero created by Lester Dent, Doc Savage is huge on my list. In many ways he was a precurser to Superman and Batman.
I'm sure I'm leaving out bunches of them, but those are the first ones that spring to mind.

I have so many so I'll start with some of them: Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because he won the chance of a lifetime Billy Coleman from Where the Red Fern Grows because of his closeness to his dogs and his family Heidi from Heidi because she learned and taught others by her example and learned the importance of friendship and family. Sara Crewe from A little Princess because she faced many difficulties yet remained optimistic Mary Lennox from The secret Garden because she was feisty Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables because I love her misadventures and love of teaching Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Praire because she was also feisty and had a closeness to her family Nancy Drew from Nancy Drew because I love her ability to not let anything or anyone stop her from solving a mystery

Here are a few more:
Hamlet from William Shakespeare's Hamlet or the Prince of Denmark: I liked him because he was feisty, determined to prove that his father had indeed been murdered by his uncle and yet he had some great quotes in the play.
The Dear America Girls-I liked Felicity, Molly, Samantha, Kirsten, Kit, Addy and Josephina. They were fun and spunky and had lot of misadventures with their friends and family.
Josephine "Jo" March from Little Women: She wants to be respected a writer and is tomboyish and doesn't seem to mind what others may think of her. She remains close to her family though and loves them very much. She reminds me a lot of me even though I am an only child.
Amanda "Mandie" Elizabeth Shaw from the "Mandie" series and she is spunky, feisty, part-Cherokee and isn't ashamed of who she is, she has a deep faith in God and in her friends and family. She even has the same birthday as me-June 6th!

Colin Craven in The Secret Garden because in spite of living without affection and being confined (erroneously) to a wheelchair, he had a loving nature.

A few more that just came to mind for me:
Charlotte from Charlotte's Web: Because she believed in an underdog (well in this case a pig) and was a true friend to Wilbur even the world turned their backs on him she still believed in him.
Ella from Ella Enchanted-she's feisty, witty as well as spunky. She believes the gift she was given as a baby of doing whatever she has been told to do as a curse but later learns how to use that gift to her advantage and it later helps her fall in love with a prince and stop a fiendish plot of being eaten by ogres.
Lucy from the Chronicles of Narnia series: She is so sweet and loving to Aslan plus she has an innocence about the world around her and is willing to help out anyone she can even when others around her think she is nuts to do so.
Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia series: A loyal leader who is brave and strong yet he is sensitive and caring for the children and other creatures that want to follow his laws, he may be fierce but you know that he will defend the land he created and those he loves with all of his heart.
Peter from the Chronicles of Narnia series: A sweet young man who grows into a strong leader and young adult, he cares for his siblings and cares for the creatures of Narnia, he may be an enemy to the White Witch but you understand that he knows that he cannot please everyone he encounters.

I liked Lucy, Peter and Aslan also in the books. I think they watered down Aslan's role in the movie.

Sadly yes, they really toned him down in the movie versions, don't get me wrong, Liam is incredible as the voice but I really felt it should have been someone like Sean Connery with his James Bond' attitude somewhat to be Aslan.

Here are a few others:
Sherlock Holmes from the Sherlock Holmes novels, he is daring, witty, courageous and very clever.
Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice, she is outspoken yet loyal to her family, she grows in her love for Mr. Darcy and has a deep respect from him.
The time traveler from The Time Machine, he is adventurous yet he is willing to learn as well as teach the people about what he has learned so far.
Oliver Twist from Oliver Twist, he is a kind hearted orphan who faces difficult circumstances who made me not feel sorry for him but respect him.

I have a lot of the classics and have read over half of them!
I still add to my collection though, I keep adding books to my library when they are good priced. Amazon.com, half.com are good sites for great books!
