Here are the rankings for national prime-time network television week of Aug 6-12 as compiled by Nielsen Media Research. They are based on the average number of people who watched a program from start to finish. Nielsen estimates there are 295 million potential viewers in the U.S. ages 2 and older.

Thanks for the numbers, as always, 3Sheets, and boy are they abysmal for the CW.

Any predictions on how Arrow will perform on a network that now seems incapable of attracting even one million viewers? I know that we comic book fans would love to have something decent to watch now that Smallville is gone.

I certainly wish I had heard more news lately about the proposed Deadman project.

I do think that the combination of Joss Whedon and an ABC TV live action series involving The Avengers will set the bar a thousand times higher than the CW could ever hope to compete with.

Do you think that this may be the make or break year for the CW to continue to exist?

I have an explanation for why The CW is still on the air.

I saw an interview with Mark Pedowitz, who said the online ratings were spectacular.

The Arrow should be well sampled and I would not be surprised to see over 2 million viewers maybe even closer to 3 million viewers with a lost of about 1/3 of viewers by the second week and it should settled around 2.30 to 1.90 viewers for the remaining of the season.

I think that the pairing with Supernatural is one of the smartest move that the CW has done in a long time.

The Competition: The Middle (ABC) and Suburgatory (ABC), Survivor: Nicaragua (CBS), Animal Practice (NBC) and Guys With Kids (NBC), The X Factor (Fox)

The competition is sort of on the weak side as Animal Practice looks like a bomb which will bring down the better show Guys with kids the rest are shows that have little room for growth or have grown stale which could work in Arrow's favor.

If Arrow is as good as the preview makes it look the show will be a hit for the CW. i did predict that the Hart of Dixie was the show that was going to be the surprise hit for the CW last year and that the Secret Circle and Ringer were both going to bomb.

The CW is in big trouble even if Arrow is a hit it is still not enough to make the CW survive. People laugh at people who watch the CW as their shows have been crap for way too long.

I went to the new CW website and they claim to have "TV to talk about" when they have removed the ability for the fans to talk about their shows on their web site.

When the affiliates contracts are coming up for renewal in the next 2 years I expect many of them to jump ship and drop the CW from the air as they can make more money showing reruns of Two and a half men, Friends or I love Lucy maybe even extending their local news (very cheap way to go) and selling the advertising time to local business.

Yeah and the DVD sells and overseas viewership is strong but it is the USA viewership is still what counts to the advertisers.

They also claim to have a big following on Facebook and on Twitter big deal they have a small vocal fan base who use the computer.

The CW is a bad joke of a network and people laugh at fans of the shows especially shows like One Tree Hill, 90210, Gossip Girl which for better or worst have defined the CW as a teenage soap network.

I wonder how many parents have the CW blocked from their kids?

What is the CW going to do become the first TV network to be only available on the web? That is not going to work in the long run.

The best thing the CW can do is close up shop and have a complete re-boot of the network starting with a new name.

The CW has added the word Now to it's logo so it has really become The Can't Watch No One Watching network.
