I should have done this last week. I heard a song of his on the radio I never heard before (and can't remember the lyrics now).

But it was pointed out somewhere that last Thursday was the anniversary of the day he went into hiding. By someone who actually believed he was dead.

No, Elvis lives! And he can do no wrong!

One of my first short stories consisted of an interview, in which it became increasingly obvious that the guy was Elvis, and that he was still alive. So YAY on this!

I was listening to Elvis' "Suspicious Minds" and "Crying In The Chapel" in the car today.

How can people say Elvis is dead? I saw him in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Then I saw him in Myrtle Beach, but he appeared in his 60s, 50s and even as little boys. He is all incarnations of sexy rock.

You were in Myrtle Beach? I go there too, but I only go to the library and the Gay Dolphin. They tore down the mall and that new one that replaced it I refuse to have anything to do with because that's why they tore down a perfectly good mall.

I saw Elvis in a movie over the weekend. He wasn't very good. One of his guitarists, Hank Garland, was the star of the movie. For some odd reason he was performing "Amazing Grace", but he did it with that sneer and not respectfully, as I've always perceived that he did with gospel music.

But this guitarist was one of the greatest ever to work in country music, as well as jazz.

I vacationed 3 miles south of Myrtle Beach in Surfside Beach, SC. It is quiet there and when I wanted to see attractions, it was an easy drive along Highway 17. Did that every other year for a long time, but last time was 2010. Now I do not want to drive 10-11 hours to get there because of traffic. I always enjoyed being at the beach.

A free concert/talent show was held on the beach where all the contestants were dressed like Elvis and performed his music. It was fun to see the teenagers performing and enjoying Elvis' music.

They've been trying to get a road built to Surfside for years. I never go at the time of year when 501 is a nightmare. Ironically, hardly anyone uses the bypass they built which goes to North Myrtle.
