For those of us who are comic book readers/collectors....what was your first comic book?

My first comic book... I do not remember. I only remember checking out Superman comic books (or graphic novels as the librarians like to call them) from the library when I was about 14 years old.

Did you see they are now putting Superman with Wonder Woman in the new reboot of the DC Comics? So strange... no Lois Lane, so wrong.

Yeah, I heard. I don't like it... I don't like it one bit! This was probably the worse move ever done by DC Comics!

I think my first one was either a Spiderman one trying to encourage people to read or an Archie comic book

For those of us who are comic book readers/collectors....what was your first comic book? My father, who died when I was six, bought me Superman comics, including this one in November of 1961. It was not the first, but it is the first I can remember, because it affected me so strongly. Sadly, my father would be dead within six months of buying me this issue. I have to think that seeing the death of Superman somehow prepared me. But the truth is that no child that age is ever prepared. The only other thing I do know is that his gift of Superman comics enabled me to read well before I went into the first grade. And that I would miss him the rest of my life. And I would always love Superman. goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/09/01/silver-age-september-the-first-death-of-superman/

My first graphic novel though was a Nancy Drew one, it was very short, only 3 chapters long. Not much of a plot and the action was very fast pace, not much of a mystery to solve.
