Mamie Gummer (has there ever been a worse name for a celebrity?) is Meryl Streep's daughter. Hopefully that means something.
This will be a hard show for me to watch with two sitcoms on NBC as competition. There is also "Apartment 23" which I tape on my TiVo.

I will not be able to relate to her because I did not experience what she did in high school. And it seems she will suffer the same thing at the hospital - the unsophisticated girl who wants to date the jock... *shudder*

I don't know her so I wondered why she looked familiar - her resemblance to her mother. I'm glad you told us that.

School mates nicknamed her "pits" which is awful for anyone, especially a girl. People made fun of her. When she gets to the hospital, the same classmates work there and they tell people her nickname was "pits". She acts nervous and clumsy. She will probably gain confidence, but I do not think I would make it through the early episodes when she is trying to fit in.

I'm more likely to watch this show now than I was before last night.
I have a season pass on my TiVo for "Go On" and "The New Normal", and while I like both shows enough that I would watch if it was convenient, it is not. I forgot about "Raising Hope" and "New Girl" because they haven't been on Tuesdays lately. Add that to "Apartment 23" and I may have to manually check every week to see what's getting recorded. Because they were the last added, I think the NBC shows will get bumped, but due to the practice of starting shows late, I don't know. I like "Apartment 23" enough to go to the trouble.
Or I could record one or both shows from an antenna. With DTV, that's risky.
Or I could record this show from cable and watch "Apartment 23" live. My ABC affiliate has been behaving lately.
Or I could watch the Fox show live. If I hold the antenna up high I usually get good results. Some days I'm fine. But every car that passes ...
But if I try this show and don't like it, my life gets a lot easier.
I had a CW affiliate I could pick up with an antenna, but its quality went downhill after the first few months. If people keep turning into works of modern art and I can't hear half of what is said, there's no point.
