I should copy my other post since it's not actually about the trailer.
But here's how things stand now. "New Girl" airs at 9, the same time as this show. I have a season pass on my TiVo. "Go On" airs at the same time. "Apartment 23" is at 9:30. So is "The New Normal". I have my TiVo taping all four. Now, the problem is start times. Some shows start early and others start late. I can use the TVs with antennas to compensate for that for the Fox and ABC shows. No such luck with NBC unless conditions are ideal. And less-than-ideal conditions could mean problems seeing the start of one show and the end of another. I would most likely have to tape, and I'd have to remember to take a break during this show at the exact time.
Anyway, there appears to be no reason I can't watch this show. I'm not overly enthusiastic about either "Go On" or "The New Normal". Or either of the other shows except Zooey Deschanel is just "adorkable", as they say.

I'm losing what little enthusiasm I had for "Go On", but that won't help because "The New Normal" is getting better. Plus "New Girl" got cut off when I taped it, and not because of any show following it. "Apartment 23" hasn't started yet. The problem is Fox not starting the next show on time. Maybe, just maybe, I'll remember to tape what I need of both those shows using the antennas when the time comes. And that may require taping this show in the middle. Because commercial breaks don't come when you need them.
But Jess is still adorkable. She looked so good when she got up and came out in just her bathrobe. I don't know whether it was less makeup ... anyway, this show is still going to cause a problem for me.

Will one of your favorite shows that conflicts with Emily Owens take a break during mid-October? If yes, you could watch a couple of episodes to see if you like this one a lot.

Will one of your favorite shows that conflicts with Emily Owens take a break during mid-October? If yes, you could watch a couple of episodes to see if you like this one a lot. So far I don't think these problems will prevent me from trying out the show. I should clarify none of the shows I have mentioned are among my favorites.

The premiere will air against the second presidential debate.
This could help the ratings. But it means I'll have to tape that much of the debate.
I'm still dealing with the end of "New Girl" getting cut off and I don't know how I'll remember to fix that. And "Apartment 23" returns the week after the debate. I forgot about "New Girl" last time I watched "Go On", a show which is increasingly annoying for me.
Too bad Erica Durance can't be in this.

I sure wish "Hart of Dixie" was on AFTER this.
I won't have the problems tomorrow night as it will be simple to tape the debate.
I know it's off topic, but Zooey Deschanel looked so good on the cover of Cosmopolitan. She wasn't like most of the heavily made-up girls. She has beautiful hair, beautiful eyes, milky white skin.
Yes, this is relevant to the topic because I will still tape her show and hopefully make an effort to actually see the end of an episode, possibly requiring me to tape a few minutes of this one. Meanwhile, "Apartment 23" will be on another TV.

This show is a winner.
And I'm not just saying this because I like the name of one of the characters. Who I guess was only on this week. That's the way these medical shows usually are.

I was ready to pronounce this show a failure until Emily explained the girl's problem to her rather than just using medical jargon to explain the girl's condition to other interns. And then she actually showed compassion in a second scene. Her evil boss, who I despise, seemed sort of pleased with her after that surgery.
So the show is good enough to watch, anyway.

It's not a totally bad show. I was very disappointed with Justin Hartley's character Will though, I mean Emily worked up enough courage to tell him how she felt since Medical School and he rejected her and moved onto her nemesis. This was infuriating because I can totally relate to this in my own life, I worked up enough to tell a guy I had liked since kindergarten how I had felt about him and he told me "You're not pretty enough" and then two years later he is calling me up for a booty call, oh heck no! I just told him simply I wasn't interested. I do keep in touch with him on Facebook but I will never consider him to be a love interest even if he was the last guy alive because he is too immature for me. I was impressed though with Emily because she totally kicked butt in helping the girl learn about what these medical terms meant. Emily's nemesis is a bit of a jerk but hey what else do you expect from nemesis type of people? The comment about dealing with a brother who suffered from cystic fibrosis reminded of me and how I felt about my dad suffering from cancer, sure we never had a hospital bed for my dad but I think it would have eventually come to that because he was very sick at last, so sick that they had to keep him isolated from other patients.

Episode 2 Thoughts:
I was surprised how Emily is going back to her crush for Will (Justin Hartley) and he seems to be still crazy about her even though it first seemed like he wasn't.
The patient interactions she had in this last episode was pretty good, I felt bad for her when she lost her OCD patient but at least she was able to make things a bit easier for the woman. The heart patient was a good one because Emily befriending the OCD patient she was able to help the heart patient get his risky surgery.
Emily also seems to have a bit of a backbone since Episode 1 and seems to be trying her best to try and move on from Will but you can tell at the end of the episode that they still have some type of chemistry.
Emily's boss is still a witch but at least Emily is showing the woman that she is no pushover and that she won't back down, she does things a bit unorthodox but she does manage to get success most of the time.
The nurses in this episode were a bit like teenagers but at least Emily finally stood up to them and proved that she isn't bisexual or a pervert. Cassandra seems surprised by Emily's new backbone but I think it is going to be interesting to see how things play out for them.
Wonder how episode 3 will go? Hmmmm, only time will tell!

I've already had it up to here with the relationship stuff and everything that makes the place like high school.
Cassandra is really pretty. I noticed this in the commercial when she and Emily were staring at each other.
But I don't like the way she treats Emily. I only like the show because of Emily's patients and how well she does with them. That one patient reminded me of Adrian Monk, only worse. I was so sorry she died, though it did let us see Emily lose a patient.
I had to tape the part where she was on the roof so I could go watch the end of "New Girl". I'm concerned because all I saw was the start of "X Factor". I haven't seen the episode I taped but I hope it didn't get cut off at the end.

New complication this week. Ellen Degenerate is being honored on PBS. The good news is that "Go On" is not on. That would be good news in and of itself, but it means I don't have to lose anything.

Episode 3 thoughts:
A well done episode about dealing with STDs, keeping secrets from parents and Cassandra's first surgery.
I was very impressed with how Emily stays calm during the entire episode and only cracked a little under pressure when she was dealing with the teenagers at the high school but she did remarkably well.
She is still trying to remind herself that she only cares for Will as a friend even though I know she doesn't but she keeps that discreetly hidden from him.
Cassandra was a bit of brat to Emily again but when it came for her to face her first surgery she literally choked under pressure, Emily tried to help Cassandra by not embarrassing herself by saying she did well in surgery and then Cassandra was angry at her for trying to be nice to her.
It's like she can't win against Cassandra no matter how hard she tries to do good it always backfires in someway.
Looks like there won't be any new episodes until November 13th, not sure why but oh well!

About the episode: I liked how Emily was able to help that girl and how she figured out what was going on.
I was glad to see Cassandra taken down a notch.
I wish there had been a little more emphasis on what Emily did at the school, but we did see the results.
The scenes with Will were pointless.

Episode 4 Thoughts:
Emily dealt with a lot intense topics in last night's episode, everything from dealing with Cassandra trying to upstage Emily to a surrogate mother trying to be included in decisions involving the babies she was carrying to a young woman needing a kidney transplant.
Emily finally worked up the courage to tell Will to not date Cassandra after she discovered that Cassandra was doing a lot of backstabbing when they were working on a project together.
Another thing is that happened is that Emily had to help reconcile the surrogate mom and the adoptive mom they were actually sisters and there was a huge decision to be made involving the babies and eventually it was decided that surgery was the best option for them.
Emily also had another life changing surgery that involved a kidney transplant between a newly married Indian couple, and the surgery for the surrogate mom was a bit intense but all seemed to turn well in the end for everyone.
Will is okay but he seems way too shy or something because he doesn't interact with Emily a lot in this episode except at the beginning and in the middle of the episode as well as towards the end. She does seem to be watching Micah almost like she does with Will, does the mean she has moved on or no? Too early to tell if you ask me.
The next episode should be interesting because it involves Micah and Emily as well as his mother.
So far the series is getting interesting but I do have to say that Justin Hartley needs something challenging soon in his character because he's like a big fluffy Ken doll at times.

My affiliate went black when they went to commercial. They ran over by a few seconds, so I guess they didn't get all their commercials in. However, it was a major undertaking to see the few seconds I missed. I saw at least half a dozen commercials, some because the computer froze during one and I had to start over.
I'll have to go through the same thing with "Apartment 23".
It's always good to see Cassandra get hers, but she is still so mean and scheming. At least Emily made her first cut.
The relationship stuff bores me and Will doesn't have a purpose.

Episode 5 Thoughts:
Emily is really shining and making a friend out of Cassandra slowly, Will is still bit of a jerk but at least he got to work with Emily some in the episode.
Emily dealt with some serious topics like a child needing a liver transplant, a drug addict patient and Tyra (who is gay and the director of the hospital's daughter who hasn't come out and told her parents this yet) who wanted to have Emily deal with her 'boyfriend' plus telling Will to try and date Cassandra.
Emily still shines beautifully in the operating room and she has a real touch for reaching out for others and you can tell she really wants to make a difference.
Micah is having to deal with his mother's cancer and realizing that the tumor hasn't shrunk, hasn't grown but it is still there and is scared he'll lose her. I know that having a parent with a cancer isn't never easy and you're always afraid they'll stop fighting and give up, I think that was true for my dad that the cancer was just too much and he knew it was time to go.
Anyways I was impressed with Emily showing her boss that she did feel guilty about interfering with the drug addict patient but she admitted she had to least try to see if he would listen to her advice. I think that was brave of Emily and she is really coming out on her own and has a bit of a backbone now.
The next episode is hard to determine for sure but it does look semi-interesting.
