I listened to Casey's show almost every week, and so did almost every other radio guy I know. The only thing better was if you worked a weekend shift during the timeslot in which it ran, and got paid to listen.

Sunday morning, actually. I didn't listen to that much of the show. I remember getting up on Saturday morning (I don't remember why unless two stations in the area had the show) to hear the first ten or so songs.
One station in my area aired classic shows of his until they went Christian.

I don't think I can ever adequately describe what Casey meant to me and all the other broadcasters in my era. But I can tell you this: every radio station broadcast tower in the United States and across the planet weeps tonight. And his broadcasts carry ever outward on the slipstream to other galaxies.

RIP Mr. Kasem. I used to listen to him when I was a kid and would occasionally catch his show as I grew up.
