Just finished watching the rest of the pilot, and I enjoyed it. Reminded me a little of the tv series Jericho and Quentin Tarentino's Kill Bill movies.

after what NBC did with my fav two other shows hell no don't get used to being on long it will be pulled like my other favs shows I am done watching NBC because they don't care about fans. Don't avoid a show just because it might get cancelled. I say appreciate the episodes you do have. "Awake" and "Saving Hope" didn't last long but they were enjoyable while they lasted.

I liked it enough to keep watching. This will be this season's "Flash Forward", "The Event", "Terra Nova". It's more like what I expected "Terra Nova" to be because I ddin't think they could take their technology with them.
Of course, there are a few people who still have electricity and computers. That one computer screen reminded me of when I was in college. For those of you who are younger--yes, that's what computers used to be like. We couldn't have instant communication by way of the Internet (I don't even think they called it that back then, and I had never heard the word), but we could talk to other computer terminals on campus in the same manner that the woman was communicating at the end of the episode. Only I didn't use a computer with green letters at first. We just had white on black. And you never knew who was sitting at a particular terminal. There was no way to communicate with another person unless that person had a landline, as we call it now, and was there (meaning in their dorm room or at work) . No, there were no cell phones. Wow, when I was in college it was the Stone Age.

The most shocking thing to me in the pilot was watching the airplanes fall from the sky. Just imagine the number of airplanes that are handled at New York's airport and other large airports at any one time and they all start falling from the sky. I think we are supposed to guess what caused the electricity to shut down and I have no idea. Anyway, Eric Kripke said that is not the most important element of the story. The series is not based on the failure of the electricity; it is based on a family trying to survive in a hostile environment. I have always loved movies with swordplay, like The 3 Musketeers and The Princess Bride. The Princess Bride swordplay was awesome in its gracefulness rather than heavy hitting swashbuckling style. I also like my heroes to be invincible and Miles appeared to be that when he did not flinch when he had to fight all those soldiers.

Yes, tonight at 10pm EDT on NBC or you can watch it online at Hulu or the NBC website. I would either watch it on Hulu or wait until 10pm because the video player on NBC is so crappy. I was only able to watch half of the pilot before it froze.

Inigo Montoya was thought to be the only swordsman in the world, and indeed just the second in all history to reach the level above Master and become a Wizard. That is, until he met Wesley. And the swordfight between the two is one of the best ever in a movie, I think. I recently finally got the book the movie is based on and have been reading it and enjoying it a lot. Then, when I finish I'm gonna watch the movie again.

I checked the library and they should have the book when I return The Help. I have recommended The Princess Bride to more people than any other movie because family and friends would look at the title and roll their eyes. I tricked one person into watching it by saying Peter Falk was in it. Whatever it takes! Every last one of those persons admitted they loved the movie. Back on Topic @revolution will do a live Twitter feed during the episode and they are asking people to re-tweet. Maybe we should RT and add our link.

I finally watched the pilot! Wow! What I don't get is what happened to the mom? I thought that was her biological mom in the very beginning when the lights first go out and 15 years later, but then I find out it's the step-mom? Did I miss something? I was very surprised about Nate being a part of the militia. And at the very end, it looks like that woman who saved Charlie's brother also has the pendant. And she was able to use it to power up her computer. It makes me wonder if this was a man made thing and not an accident.

I just love a lot of other things too. By the way, that background on Inigo Montoya is from the book. AND, when you get it, let me know when you've gotten 3 or 4 chapters into it, and I'll tell you something about it that might make you appreciate it even more. I say yes to the Revolution retweets! Hey, saying the phrase 'I say yes to the Revolution' is kinda fun.

We're led to think that she died sometime in the preceding years in the pilot--at least that's what the characters think. But who knows?

Finally watched the pilot episode on my computer.
I liked it. I just hope it doesn't fall into the "Terra Nove" trap and fall into stupid teenage love stories (I worry about Charlie and Nate becoming just that stupid storyline).
Didn't see the Monroe/Miles connection coming.
Why does everyone have clothes that look like they just came out of the nearest Gap store? Great shoes, too!?! Why does no one have gray hair or no teeth?
Looking forward to Monday's episode.

The only time I want to see Nate is when he is shooting someone with a bow and arrow. They must have stockpiled all the toothpaste and hair color they could carry. Can't wait for your critique of the 2 nd episode.

I don't get "Nate." First he's their friend, then he's "outed" by Miles as a member of Monroe's Militia and runs away. THEN, he brings the miltia to the hotel. THEN, he saves Charlie. THEN, he runs away. That just seems a little silly. He sees a cute girl (whose hair is remarkably well styled after being on the road for what must have been a couple of days) and goes wobbly on his militia ties? Please....

Thanks for not mentioning they send the boy with asthma into the woods to hunt. I was having the same issues with the Nate sequence of events. Maybe Nate will change sides and help them out - if he can convince Miles to not kill him first. We're lucky the women are not wearing high heeled sandals. I'm still looking forward to it though.

Well, I was going to mention the lady giving him an inhaler that had belonged to her son. When did he "exit" the picture? And how old is the medicine in the inhaler? How well do expired medicines work? But I didn't want to get too picky all at once.

In the Trailer thread, Kyle posted this theory So I stood in front of the television for 15 minutes FF and rewind and all I saw were car headlights and brake lights, and, of course, lots of falling airplanes. Did anyone else notice Bugs' expression when the power started to flicker?

All I saw were the falling planes, but maybe I had the contrast too low on my TV. Bug's face was quite appropos the situation that was happening! Glad you got a screen shot of it.

Wish I hadn't deleted the first episode now so that I could go back and see Bugs's expression.
