Here's NBC's official description of episode 2, "Chained Heat":
MILES LEADS CHARLIE ON A SEARCH TO FIND NORA - In order to rescue Danny (Graham Rogers), Miles (Billy Burke) knows he and the gang will need help. Thus, the search begins for Nora (Daniella Alonso), a rebel fighter battling against the Militia. Meanwhile, Aaron (Zak Orth) confides in Maggie (Anna Lise Phillips) and Danny lays witness to what Captain Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) is capable of.

SPOILERSIf anyone has not seen episode 2, this will contain SPOILERS. I enjoyed the episode and it introduced Nora, a warrior woman, who Miles needs to help them fight Monroe's army. At first, Charlie annoyed me when she insisted Miles not kill the bounty hunter. Then, she really irritated me when she left during the night to follow Miles, but she proved she has gotten over her squeamishness about killing. She might be useful in a fight. She performed a nice move in tricking Nate into thinking she was hurt so that she could slip cuffs on him. I don't know where she learned her skills, but she seems to know a lot of tricks. I think the directing was excellent when Charlie approached the foreman and invoked the memory of her mother in preparation to fire the weapon. I am not sure Aaron should let the lady (Maggie) hold onto the pendant flash drive, but it is probably good that someone else knows about it and where it should go. A lot of names to remember. The two big surprises for me are that Rachel (Charlie's mom) was willing to shoot a man in the back to keep him from stealing their food. Keep in mind that he did threaten to hurt little Charlie. Then, after thinking that Rachel had died somewhere, we see she is being held by Monroe.

Oooooooooooooooo, so far I am liking this show. We're already getting some twists and turns. Not sure I remember all the characters names, but: Shouldn't Clara be more careful before opening her front door? And if the guy on the outside is a baddie, why does he knock? Who is Randall? So Charlie's mom isn't dead. Did her husband know that? What does Monroe think she know about the power outage? What DOES she know? Anyone else notice that Lucifer (Mark Pelligrino) is in the next episode? Monday is no longer boring!!

I agree, we have something to look forward to on Mondays. I don't know who Randall is. I don't even know if that is the role Pellegrino has. They are also going to use Colin Ford (young Sam) and Todd Stashwick (the dude who played the Dracula shapeshifter). It would be nice to have a friend like Kripke; he looks out for his guys. I guess after all the unbelievable stuff they got away with on Supernatural, Kripke & Co. sometimes forget they need to use logic in Revolution. Logic: Woman living alone in the middle of nowhere would not open door without asking who is on the other side; and she would have a knife in her hand.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Jensen and/or Jared guest star in this program.

Hey member... Done! There has been an interesting twist in each episode. Looks like Pellegrino is all tied up at the moment. Hope he has some tricks up his sleeve, even if he did "out" our boy. I remember wondering if Miles knew his buddy, Bass, was Monroe. I guess they are answering that question. I wish Jensen and Jared would make a cameo appearance. That would be a riot! I wonder why SPN never did a crossover, just for fun.

I'm not enjoying this show as much as I did. I do like the flashbacks to right after the blackout. That scene this week was disturbing. I suppose people would kill those who try to take their food. In this world it wouldn't be right, but that's a different world.
I also like finding out what happened to the power and how it might come back. So any scenes where the woman is on the computer I like.
Other than that, I'm just not feeling the enthusiasm that I did.

I think there will continue to be a lot of battles and I think both Nora and Charlie will be fighting. I, too, want to learn what happened to the power.

Boy, am I behind. I've got the episode recorded and hope to finally get a chance to watch it tonight. Until then I'm skipping the comments on it here so I don't get spoiled.

Well, gee, it's probably a good idea NOT to comment until you've actually seen the show. Just like with Supernatural.

Finally got to watch the second episode tonight. Did I miscount, or are there actually three of those magic flash drives we've seen now? When Clara sent the message 'Randall is here' my first thought was there's a salute to Stephen King and his post apocalyptic bad guy Randall Flagg from The Stand. The combination of seeing that first name and the American flag on two occasions in the episode can't be chance. Giancarlo Esposito always manages to elevate any production he's in. He was stellar as drug kingpin Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, and he's just as menacing here in the role of militia captain Tom Neville. I'm so glad to see Elizabeth Mitchell on the show as Charlie's mom. I liked her work on Lost a lot. I guess they answered our speculation that the event which turned out the lights was man-made, so we were correct. The time just flew by as I watched episode two, so that's a good sign. I'm looking forward to the next one. Anti, it seems like you're gonna get at least one good swordfight every week, the way things are going.

Episode 2 was fantastic! I think I'm gonna just record then watch, because I don't really like watching the swordfights, so I just fastforward through that part.
I was surprised to see that Charlie's mother is alive. So what the heck happened between when the lights first went out and now, didn't Charlie say in the pilot that her mother is dead? And yes, there are apparently three of the magic flashdrives. This is getting very interesting. I can't wait until the next episode.

Some of the books and movies of the past 20 years blur the line between good and evil, but King's The Stand depicted Flagg as being without conscience. If "Randall" is, as you suggested, a tribute to that character, Grace is in trouble. Do you think the name "Grace" has significance? Thanks for reminding me of why I know Elizabeth Mitchell. She was the fertility doctor on Lost. She played a good role on Lost and kept me guessing. I think she will have me wondering what she is doing in Revolution also. I requested The Princess Bride through inter-library loan, and I am waiting for it to come in. Then, I can have swordfights during the show and all week long. Swordfights are much more exciting than pulling a trigger (unless the trigger is pulled by Angelina Jolie in Wanted).

You haven't seen "The Princess Bride" yet? Kiddo, you're in for a treat. Wonderful movie, wonderful characters, very imaginative. Look for the R.U.S.'s and potion makers and sword fights galore. You are in for wonderful ride.

I re-watched episode 2 last night....NBC re-ran it at 8 p.m. I see I was calling Grace by the wrong name (Clara). Was there someone named Clara? If so, I missed it.
The pendants with the flash drives are very intriguing. When someone presses the center of the pendant, it glows and power goes on in the immediate vicinity. I guess that's how the mysterious stranger, Randall, who knocked on Grace's door and broke down the locked door to her secret computer room got that "cattle-prod" to give the flicker of electric shock energy.
Again, I will say that for someone hiding something so critical, Grace didn't seem to have hidden her computer room well or secured it very well, since a few kicks to the door broke it in. Shouldn't it be in some kind of bunker? And why is she out there all alone?
Now, on to Nora. I notice that all the prisnors seemed dressed in extrememly well fitting tank tops and pants. Wonder how they managed that in a world without power for the last 15 years?
Okay, okay, I nitpick. But I like the show so far and will be watching tomorrow night's episode with relish!

I just re-watched the episode in preparation for tomorrow night. After reading your posts, I realized I missed some of the finer points of the episode because I was tweeting during the show. I wondered why Monroe was holding Rachel. Well... during the scene when young Charlie was bouncing the basketball, Rachel told Charlie that daddy had to get something from our work. I had not picked up the cue that Rachel worked with her husband. That's why in the Pilot, he did not need to explain to her what was happening.
The show is doing very well according to the ratings that 3Sheets posted.

Those are the numbers for the pilot episode, which as you can see, was the highest ranked scripted drama on network tv that week. Second episode numbers were around 9 million if I remember correctly.
Good catch on that salient word in Rachel's dialogue! That does explain quite a bit.
