The international book week thread gave me this idea grab a book any book and pick anytwo sentences and post them here the next poster has to link the two sentences and make it funny somehow afterwards that poster can post two of their own sentences

The cloak of the moralist sat badly on his shoulders. Just for losing some marbles? Rumpelstiltskin angrily tossed the cloak over Japetta and commanded he wear it all day. Japetta retorted “Just for losing some marbles?” because the cloak of the moralist sat badly on his shoulders. Rumpelstiltskin: Yes, because you must have lost all your marbles when you dared preach to me!
All they did was pester and vex and annoy. The heart swells at the magnificence. |

The three children were bored, all they did was pester and vex and annoy.
The professor remarked in his journal "The heart swells at the magnificence" of his latest love affair with the young maiden who was the aunt to these lovely three children. He was lonely and sad but he knew that someday this maiden would be the one who would capture his heart.
Her ears were ringing and her vision was blurred.
It was hard to tell exactly what was going on.
