Oooooooooooooo..I can hardly wait!! I see dead people! ;D You must have nerves of steel. While viewing the clips, I wondered why in the heck do I watch something that scares me so badly. People kept raving about the show and although I would never go to see a movie about zombies, I decided to watch this. I do like most of the characters, and that was a mind-boggling twist they threw in at the end of the season about not having to be bit.

I guess I just have a thing for "end of the world" stories. Did you ever read Stephen King's "The Stand?" I love that stuff.
The icky zombies chowing down on people I kind of look away from that, but people trying to survive in a post-apocolyptic world gets me like a fly on flypaper!

I am a fan of Stephen King and I enjoyed The Stand. Although his stories are scary, I enjoy all of them. It's just the whole zombie/cannibalism concept that creeps me out.

OMG what a great season starter!! I was really annoyed by the silence in the beginning of the episode, which lasted for like 8 minutes. Does anyone know why Carl isn't speaking to Lori? Odd. Usually I can't stand her but Rick was being a dick and her own son was giving her the cold shoulder. T-Dog once again only had like 3 lines. After watching the marathon over the weekend I realized everyone but T-Dog has had some "moment" where we get a deeper look into who they are, he hasn't really had that. .. except when he was drugged out with Dale. I just want one episode where he has more than one or two lines. There's no real connection with the character imo where people would even be rooting for him to stay on. Poor Hershel!!!! That was fricken painful to watch

All I could ask after Herschel was attacked was, why in the hell would they drag along: 1. an old man to help clean out possible zombie infestation in a dark prison; and 2. their ONLY doctor who has taken care of their health and will be needed to deliver a baby? Other than that I really loved seeing dead people again.

The show was preempted in my area until the 19th. I will sleep without nightmares until then.

I was hoping you would tell me if anyone died. I plan to keep my eyes closed through most of the "OMG, zombies are attacking them" scenes anyway.

If you're going to close your eyes whenever someone gets killed, you'll miss everything but the opening and closing credits! It used to gross me out, but soon it becomes sort of comic-book like violence.

SoCal, I kept my eyes open. @sammysideburns, if my memory is correct, Rick is pissed off because - Lori tried to get rid of the baby
- Everybody but him knew she had an affair with his BFF Shane
- She discussed the pregnancy with others without telling him first
Carl liked Shane and he knows ultimately his mom is responsible for Shane's death. I survived the first episode of the season. Young blood Carl certainly grew a set over the hiatus. I recall when he had a gun and played with the walking dead instead of shooting it. I still love seeing Daryl with the crossbow and his blushes when he is being flirted with. I like his “I ain’t sleeping in no cage.” I’m going to pause here and give a shout-out to the commercials, which are a nice tension breaker. I like the Windows 8 commercial in which the guy was dreaming about an upcoming date and a walking dead banged on the window, and the “don’t tell mom” & “don’t tell dad” commercial was funny. Calling Rick “Little Shane” was a little below the belt, but I understand why Herschel said that. I think I said OMG five times when Herschel got bit and Rick did what needed to be done (I kept my eyes open!). Rick was criticized for being weaker than Shane and now he will be criticized for acting more like Shane. Looking forward to them meeting the warrior woman.

Right now I hate Lori, Rick's wife. She bitches about how scary Shane has become (that's when I saw Rick's eyes seem to harden and go a bit scary), and then she's pushing Rick away after he tells her he killed Shane, because Shane had led him out into the woods to kill him.
She loves Rick.....she hates Rick.....she feels sorry for Shane....she's scared of Shane....she tells Rick it's his baby......she talks to Shane about the baby.....
Right now I want her to be eaten by a zombie.
Anyone else hate Lori as much as I do? Maybe her baby is already a zombie and will eat her from the inside out. Yikes, that's a little creepy. bUT SHE TICKS ME OFF!

She wants to advise Rick, but the decisions she made for herself created insurmountable problems. If Rick is going to make mistakes, let them be based on what he thinks is best. Would someone please explain to me why Lori thinks Rick should have a heart-to-heart about her damn feelings right now! In the middle of a walking dead infested compound?

I guess we can blame the pregnancy and her being afraid of giving birth in a world filled with zombies, but that's too easy. I mean, at the end of the last season finale, she pushes Rick away and looks at him in horror after his confession about killing Shane, a man she had told Rick she was afraid of, btw. Now she expects him to be father of the year? I hope she's the next to go. I really do. And I still want to know why the oldest man in the group, the man who is their only doctor would go on a zombie hunt with the rest of the group. Of course he's the one to get jumped by a zombie. Jeez.

Yeah, that is a really good question. Doc should have stayed behind in case Lori went into labor and delivered a baby zombie. I think the woman who stayed behind is the one who can shoot as well as the men. But I would have to check that.

Now we have to see if chopping off his leg prevents him from going zombie. Although nis new hair cut and semi-beard already make him look like a zombie-wannabe.
